  1. Staal is the best face off player on our team and one of the best in the league. So we start on our third line with him over having Aho take the opener. Aho and the first line then can be matched up better on home games like this versus a weak opponent line after the drop. As home teams get the last call on line changes. Even with away games its better to open up strong with Staal try to win the face off and set the tone. I'm sure someone else on here has a more concise explanation but its really to do with Staals FO ability.
  2. Their goalie likes to cover. We need to work on our face off scores.
  3. Ya I don't know what is up with this ice. Both teams are having issues with passes and shots. sometimes they look like they are hitting a wall of sludge.
  4. A little but that PP was def not a tripping. That guy had the same issue as bean. That ice over there is slick I bet.
  5. Ya, I was eyeing that when you posted this earlier. Brock keeps this up he isn't gonna be cheap + Svech. I almost feel like Martinook is gonna be a cap casualty next year. Really hope i'm wrong. He's the fire of the team.
  6. Holy poo almost forgot we were playing the early game. For the first time this season, the Carolina Hurricanes will square off with the Florida Panthers, a match-up of two teams each with 20 points in 13 games. The Match-Up Florida Panthers (9-2-2, 20 points) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (10-3-0, 20 points) Wednesday, Feb. 17, 5 p.m. Watch: FOX Sports Carolinas, FOX Sports GO Listen: 99.9 FM The Fan, Hurricanes.com/Listen, Hurricanes app https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/gameday-preview-florida-panthers-carolina-hurricanes/c-321484490 https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/projected-lineup-florida-panthers-carolina-hurricanes/c-321492682 It's been nearly a year since Vincent Trocheck was acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes, and for the first time, he's now set to face off against his former team. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said the Canes will not make any changes to their group of 18, while Alex Nedeljkovic is the likely starter in net. GAME PREVIEW Here is the projected lineup for the Hurricanes. Forwards McGinn-Aho-Teravainen Niederreiter-Trocheck-Necas Svechnikov-Staal-Foegele Martinook-Paquette-Fast Defensemen Slavin-Hamilton Gardiner-Pesce Skjei-Bean Goalies Nedeljkovic Reimer Scratch: Fleury Fleury still scratched. Doesn't seem like any changes besides Ned starting. Lets see how we do a 5 o' clock start. Hopefully we don't take 15-25:00 to get the engine going today.
  7. FIFY. We do not have any semblance of a roster right now.
  8. 40M and this roster? Another losing season incoming.
  9. All good. It just came recently to light in the TB. The image is the first image posted in the thread and nothing to do with the main topic.
  10. 3 first and CMC or a Defensive starter? Give it 3 years before we are the new Huston. Good teams collect picks, not give all of them away.
  11. In other news "RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has acquired forward Egor Korshkov and defenseman David Warsofsky from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Alex Galchenyuk. Warsofsky has been assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL)." https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/canes-acquire-korshkov-warsofsky-from-maple-leafs/c-321430456
  12. Gonna be great to see him Wednesday when he isn’t sleep deprived and gets a full practice under his belt.
  13. I will give them he did look offsides from up top by kilometers but I do agree that was another makeup.
  14. Game One: After earning eight of a possible 12 points on a six-game road swing, the Carolina Hurricanes return to PNC Arena for five games in eight days. Up first in the homestand is a one-off match-up against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Match-Up Columbus Blue Jackets (7-5-4, 18 points) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (9-3-0, 18 points) Monday, Feb. 15, 7 p.m. Watch: FOX Sports Carolinas, FOX Sports GO Listen: 99.9 FM The Fan, Hurricanes.com/Listen, Hurricanes app https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/gameday-preview-columbus-blue-jackets-carolina-hurricanes/c-321413776 https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/projected-lineup-columbus-blue-jackets-carolina-hurricanes/c-321416634 Forwards McGinn-Aho-Teravainen Niederreiter-Trocheck-Necas Svechnikov-Staal-Foegele Martinook-Paquette-Fast Defensemen Slavin-Hamilton Gardiner-Pesce Skjei-Bean Goalies Reimer Nedeljkovic Scratches: Fleury, Galchenyuk Injuries: McCormick (upper body; injured reserve), Mrazek (right thumb) Taxi squad: Bibeau, Geekie, Lorentz, Ryan Looks like Reimer in net, Paguette centering the 4th line. I'm curious whats up with Fleury though? Healthy Scratch? Pulled Bean up. I thought Gardiner and Fleury have consistently been our best defensive pairing thus far. No word from the twitters i've seen. Dunno if Rod isn't happy with his performance? Will be interested to see if Tripp has a comment on this pre-game. Also not sure if this was posted yet but Paguettes journey to tonight.
  15. That has got to be some long freaking football games.
  16. Not to mention how shitty the roads are between here and there with the weather.
  17. He shouldn’t have spun al he had to do was drift and shoot and this game would be over.
