  1. I remember being told I was too much of a pessimist. Now apparently I'm too much of an optimist
  2. I guess part of my reason for optimism is that it really feels like our current leadership actually knows what they're doing. It's been a pretty long time since I've felt that way.
  3. Also, not directly related but for anybody who does video work this might be of interest.
  4. Meanwhile, over at Texans minicamp... Just remembering when people were saying that John McClain was the shill for the Texans brass And yeah, he's right. That's pretty stupid.
  5. "So are we trading back again?" One of the stories that I found about Fitterer back during the GM search was that one year when John Schneider had traded back a bunch of times he got a little frustrated, went to Schneider and said "Okay can we stop now?"
  6. I mean, as an example of a guy who was pedestrian his first few seasons but turned it around, it's valid. Can't speak for anyone else, but I don't think it's meant as a comparison to Brees (or at least it shouldn't be). And personally, I'd be happy if Darnold was just good to great. He doesn't necessarily have to be Hall of Fame worthy for us to be successful.
  7. I switched from Chrome to Opera on my phone and I gotta say I'm liking it right now.
  8. The Camp Confidential video does kinda make this story look like bullsh-t.
  9. Back when I was in high school, a guy I knew who was an assistant coach at an opposing school asked me that question. I named his school. He responded, "You know who our rival is?" I asked who. He said, "Whoever we're playing this week." That always kinda stuck with me.
  10. Speaking of wives talking about their husbands
  11. Boy, would I love to hear some context for that last comment
  12. That, plus you can tell from the pre draft discussions that they really liked Jaycee Horn.
  13. I mean, there were flashes here and there, but we were held back mostly by the fact that our original owner valued loyalty to him over the actual ability to do a job well. That's how we ended up with over a decade of Marty Hurney as our GM.
  14. The old Panthers were pretty bad. The current edition? Remains to be seen but there's lots of reasons to be optimistic.
  15. I saw a story where Earl Campbell was hit by a truck a couple of years ago. Word was the truck survived but it needed a lot of repair work.
  16. Were you this one? Apparently whoever Linville was referring to has been banned, so it must not have been you.
  17. This is a clip from another team's camp. Apparently we missed out on a potential quarterback prospect.
  18. I personally don't think Teddy has actually posted here, but it's within the realm of possibility. We know Dan Morgan posted here once (and Lord, what a disaster that turned into) It's arguably more possible that someone within Bridgewater's circle might have. I know I read about a sports guy (non football) who was told by a colleague when he first started out to stay off the internet. He did, but his wife didn't, and that ended up pulling him in too. As I recall, there's precedent there also as an extremely weird friend of a former defensive end of ours (whose name shall not be invoked) was said to have come on here a time or two.
  19. Rhule's post practice presser the other day left me feeling like they're definitely not that strongly tied to Joey Slye.
  20. I'd heard that they were trying to be respectful of him and accommodate his wishes. That call made it look like the respect didn't go both ways.
  21. Bad results are historical. The reasons behind those results are debatable. There's an extensive and well presented discussion in another thread about the balance between Darnold and the jets. You should probably check that out.
  22. The closest I can come to that is rewatching old playoff and championship games. I will admit to having rewatched Super Bowl 38 once or twice. I just tend to turn it off before the ending. And yeah, I recorded Super Bowl 50, but I deleted it without ever watching it and vowed to never ever look at it again.
  23. The Panthers of the past were insanely paranoid about letting even the tiniest scrap of information get out, even stuff that was after the fact and didn't matter anymore (Like, who cares about your draft board when the draft is over?) Cameras inside the war room would have been unthinkable under Richardson.
