Texans sign Tyrod Taylor with incentive laden contract
Mr. Scot replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think this is the third time it's broken. -
Niners managed to retain Trent Williams and signed Alex Mack. Damn...

The OP...isn't exactly about "football decisions". I'd tell you to read it, but on second thought, don't.

Deshaun Watson has lawsuit filed against him by Tony Buzbee
Mr. Scot replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thing about false accusations is they don't only hurt the accused. They also make it tougher for genuine victims to get justice. Agree there should be consequences for stuff like that but yeah, it's complicated. That said, "I don't believe her because she's accusing someone I'm a fan of" is an ignorant, moronic attitude that also makes it tougher for true victims to get justice. That's exactly the kind of attitude that keeps women silent and allows some douchebags to get away with their crimes just because they're rich, famous or both. As far as this case goes, right now we don't know jack sh-t. There's an accusation, a denial, and a process designed to sort these things out that could very easily take a loooong while to work through. And Verge is right. This is bigger than football. What happens now has the potential to affect Watson's whole life. -

No idea whether there's anything to the story, but damn did things just get weird. -
Pay wall...

I'm not sure if he wants that. From what I understand, he didn't actually ask for it. McNair offered it, but then didn't follow through. I know Russell Wilson wants a say in the Seahawks roster, something which I think Will Brinson addressed pretty well.

She said we had no interest in Keanu Neal (safety from Atlanta). If she mentioned Kevin King, I missed it. Jackson? Don't know. He's missed an awful lot of games the last few years.

No, but this guy is. Another corner getting big money...

I agree for the most part, but there is one difference. Watson's holdout isn't strictly because the team is lousy. It's also because he feels like ownership betrayed him. That part wouldn't apply here. Now, his likely just going from one lousy team to another? Yeah that's a real possibly. Contrary to popular belief, just adding Watson does not make us a contender.

Panthers interested in Falcons Keanu Neal
Mr. Scot replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Apparently we're not in on this one... -
You know, I'm not sure if anybody remembers this, but Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott actually used to work for the Panthers Edit: Not a bad price

It's possible, but Lombardi's not the greatest source. He's probably about on the level of Jason LaCanfora as far as reliability, i.e. very hit or miss. I think it was sometime back in the mid 2000s, Lombardi spent half a season continuously saying that John Fox was gonna be fired. When the season ended, he wasn't even on the hot seat.

San Francisco has two advantages. One, they can offer Garoppolo in return (not equal to Watson but significantly better than Bridgewater). Two, Nick Caserio and Adam Peters are very well acquainted, which could make for smoother negotiations. Heck, on that front, Jeff Howe is actually positing a scenario where the Patriots trade for Deshaun Watson. (seems like a reach to me)

I'm not really sure there is an explanation for the Saints and the cap...probably not from any of us anyway.

The Lions could potentially draft a QB, but I don't know that I'd call them QB hungry. There are others though...
