  1. They need a policy where Irsay is required to pass a breathalyzer / drug test in order to make a decision. Technically no, but the NFL would have forced him out one way or another. I think that's a big reason why he was bitter. After all his loyalty, he probably expected them to protect him.
  2. Insert "that's what she said" line here Seriously though, if that were actually possible I'd be over the moon
  3. Not quite (that'd be pretty neat though)
  4. And per Darin Gantt was walking around angrily mumbling stuff like "I don't have to sell this team".
  5. I'm sure it will come out later that he was who they really wanted all along
  6. It strikes me funny because of stupid sh-t like this... WFNZ is pretty much unlistenable right now because there's a steady parade of idiots screaming In a similar way.
  7. Just the Colts and Cardinals left.
  8. This hiring season has likely been great for Sean Payton's ego
  9. Yeah, I think the news that the 49ers were asking to interview DC candidates kinda let that cat out of the bag
  10. Ben Albright wasn't a fan of this because he noted that a lot of what makes Payton's system work are some things that Russell Wilson isn't really that good at.
  11. Given the news that Harbaugh was talking to them again, I gotta wonder if Michigan feels like that girl who keeps getting told by everybody that her guy is cheating on her but she refuses to believe it or even acknowledge it
  12. Denver being an AFC team probably does make it a little easier. Have it only knows what they would have asked from us.
  13. Panther fans hate the Broncos for Super Bowl 50... Panther fans hate Sean Payton for a lot of reasons... Those two things oughtta mesh pretty well
  14. More from Tepper on why they went with an offensive coach... Again, speaking as an established critic of David Tepper, I wouldn't argue any of that.
  15. From Schuyler Callahan (interviewing Scott Fitterer) If Reich's plan with the coaching staff played a big part in the decision "The first time through he laid out probably three or four deep at each position. And then we interviewed him about a week later and he went back and contacted coaches again and got more confirmation. Then even added to this list and said, hey, if we do this - what if we go to a passing specialist here...he went to a whole different level. Then just outside of just the coaching staff, it went to engagement, development, how to build a culture. So, there was like a second level of thinking." Reich's progress in forming the coaching staff "I know he's made a ton of calls. He laid out a plan for us in the interview process. Some teams are still playing and a lot of times you have to get a coordinator in place first to see how it all shakes out but those calls are being made non-stop. We're putting in slips left and right for coaches and we'll see where it goes. I know he's got a good plan. If option 'A' doesn't work out, option 'B' is just as good." More here...
  16. Not that I've seen, but this would make it pretty obvious.
  17. That's good for Wilks. If Vic Fangio wants that job though, he'll probably get it.
  18. My case in point for that statement was Ron Rivera's introductory presser. Rivera came out with a bunch of big balled talk about being aggressive and imposing will on others and things like that. I remember Brooklyn Decker saying that after watching that she thought he was kind of scary. And then...well That said, at least Rivera had something memorable about his. Outside of the story about his hire making me a little nervous, I can't remember a damn thing about Matt Rhule's intro.
  19. A couple of player comments... In the months to come, I suspect some variation of "I feel bad for Steve but I just want to win"; is what you'll hear from most of the players.
  20. Cary's answer was pretty accurate. As an example... That's one of those questions where I'd typically expect a response like "oh that's in the past" or "you'd have to ask them" or some such, but that's not what Reich did at all. He owned it.
