Someone else created a thread about it. There's a more detailed discussion of it there:

People these days do love to get involved in online outrage, whether it actually means anything or has any relation to them or not.
-
Nobody was offering it to him. Ossenfort and Payton do have at least something of a connection in that they are both Bill Parcells guys. I'd have to imagine that plays into the dynamic.

Somebody's gonna have to explain to me how hiring Sean Payton fits in with Monti Ossenfort's "no egos" statement
-
Saw that. Didn't exactly get to pick his spot after all Albright has been heavily implying that the Broncos are going to get Demeco Ryans. That leaves Houston still floundering and the Colts people still trying to get their Charlie Harper owner to hire anybody but Jeff Saturday.

One of the stories mentioned that Reich had already spoken to people he wants to bring aboard and they've agreed. It's possible some of that may be conditional but I didn't get that impression, at least not from what I read. -
Don't want to get into any of that stuff in this thread, honestly. We've already had a couple of threads closed today. For now, this is kudos and thank you to a very good man whom we're lucky to have had be part of the team.

Joe Person on possible coordinator candidates

Everybody was trying to tie the DC interviews to either Sean Payton, Ben Johnson or one of the other young candidates. Given what we now know about Reich having come prepared with staff options, I wonder... -

If you're gonna grade interim coaches you've gotta throw Perry Fewell in there

On the offensive side, Kevin Patullo is still the most interesting name to me. -

Rapoport and others have mentioned Gus Bradley as a possible DC but since he's still under contract to the Colts, you'd probably have to wait until they finalize their head coach hire to see whether he'll be available. Unfortunately, that could be a while because it feels like the Colts front office is stalling so they can try and talk Jim Irsay out of hiring Jeff Saturday. -

I like Joe but that's a little bit of a lazy article. Doesn't feel like he dug too deep for this one. I did like this quote though... One of the things that separated Reich from other candidates was the staff he told Fitterer and David Tepper he would assemble in Charlotte, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Reich could try to retain offensive line coach James Campen and special teams coordinator Chris Tabor after both position groups made big strides after their arrivals.- 231 replies

Panthers Let the Great Be the Enemy of the Good.
Mr. Scot replied to TheMaulClaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
People talk about last season because it's only one of two that Steve Wilks has to his credit as a head coach. And if you're a fan of his, well...the other one might be something you wouldn't wanna bring up. Im reality, trying to limit the discussion to last season Is an attempt to avoid bringing inconvenient facts into the discussion. -
Oh, sure. I mean why would anybody think that the guy who hired Jeff Saturday might be making bad decisions?

Was last season the only one Reich coached? -

It's not often I see Voltaire referenced in football discussions. -

From the article... When Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich stepped up to the podium after his team’s 27-17 win over the New England Patriots on Saturday, he demanded $20 from a reporter. The reporter had bet $20 among media members that the Colts wouldn’t score on a Philly Special...the Colts ran the Philly Special for their opening touchdown in Week 15.
