  1. Some of us don't even have to wait that long 🫥
  2. Your timeline is way off, dude. Gettleman was fired in 2017. Newton was still around until Rhule was hired. No real guarantee of that given Newton's playing style. Nor does it really matter anymore. And no, it doesn't mean anybody "deserves" to suffer for it. This is football, not justice.
  3. Rhule was Tepper's call, assisted by Marty Hurney and Steven Drummond. With Reich, Tepper largely abstained from the search. He didn't even take part in the final vote.
  4. You kinda have to look at it as a braintrust. For his first two offseasons, Fitterer was tasked with getting the kind of guys Matt Rhule wanted for his systems. Now we've got entirely different coaches and systems, hence why some guys acquired previously don't fit anymore. That doesn't mean everyone needs to go, but it does mean we're starting from scratch more so than some realize.
  5. Except for his first season because most of free agency was over before Morgan was hired.
  6. Oh sure. I mean it's perfectly reasonable to just ask any good players we have on our team to wait around till we're "ready" to draft that guy. Good grief dude, this isn't Madden
  7. Yeah, talking about what a franchise or fans "deserve" is silly in general. But as far as Newton, pretty much nobody associated with his career even works here anymore, so I don't know who's supposed to "deserve" anything.
  8. Look at the original post in this thread and you'll see something really ridiculous.
  9. Yeah, apparently he's a bit of a misfit. Realistically, he's not talented enough for coaches to put up with his bullsh-t.
  10. He's already got a shoulder injury. Couldn't throw at all this week up till today. That's a huge concern for a quarterback, especially after just one game. (remember what shoulder issues did to Newton)
  11. David Carr through his full career showed that wasn't a sustainable model. (Joe Burrow is showing it too)
  12. So we shouldn't draft a quarterback until we're absolutely the worst team in the league? Yikes, dude
  13. Better point would be that there's no such thing as a "wide receiver scout". Scouts work geographic regions, not positions.
  14. Until Tepper starts actually making the football decisions, that's a dumb take.
  15. Guys like that typically wind up looking great when they play but missing a lot of time. More often than not, they end up signing with several teams over their career, each time hoping this time they stay healthy.
  16. Sorry, totally off base. The first step of the rebuild they wanted to complete was to get a franchise quarterback to build around. Bryce is the guy they chose. This is how it works.
  17. It was close enough to be uncomfortable.
  18. Deep down, anybody who thinks they already know that doesn't really know much.
