  1. Teams don't want to give huge guaranteed money to a guy with injury concerns. Jackson overplayed his hand, besides likely making a huge mistake by not hiring an agent.
  2. If nobody else is willing to make an offer though, his leverage goes way down.
  3. Jackson exists in a post-Watson world, though. Results so far are indicating it's not going so well.
  4. Watson wasn't franchise tagged. He was under contract when he held out. Even so, after two years off, he now looks a lot worse and his situation has made it a lot harder for anyone else to get a deal like that.
  5. So far nobody. Peter King said he doesn't know of any team that has plans to go after Jackson. His contract demands might be putting teams off.
  6. Probably worth mentioning that Watson wasn't actually franchised. He was under contract when he held out so the situation isn't quite the same.
  7. Yeah, that argument's been made before. Doesn't matter how you try to spin it, dude. The franchise tag is in place for a reason. Players can try holding out but odds of success are very slim. Doesn't matter either way since we're not pursuing him.
  8. The good part is they have most of their starters under contract.
  9. Either way, what we're ultimately talking about is akin to trading for Newton and guaranteeing his contract after his injuries occurred.
