Former player comment on Fangio...
-
I feel very strongly about this... Derek Carr.
Mr. Scot replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not scared of signing Carr. He's better than our previous options work. I get why folks don't want to go with another "veteran reclamation project" but you also have to look at the player himself. How much actual "reclamation" is really involved in sighing Carr? We're not talking about another Sam Darnold here. -
Well, ya gotta figure all the other teams in the division are looking for upgrades just like us.
-
Shame about that extension, huh?
-
I prefer to tell somebody "good post" or something. (just a personal quirk)
-
Speaking of Wilks...
-
Little more on the Carr situation
-
He might not get one, though. Either way, my understanding is he's currently still under contract with the Broncos so they don't technically have a defensive coordinator position open at this time. Unless they do
-
Not sure seeing as they don't technically have an opening. Evero is under contract. Hence why interviewing an outside candidate could conceivably be a sign that he's not continuing there.
-
Also in the area of coaching... Jackson approved?
-
That's conceivably noteworthy to fans of Ejiro Evero
-
Speaking of the Pro Bowl... Another upcoming deadline is the 15th. If he's still on the team and nothing is agreed to by that time, he gets a bonus or some such. Other NFL teams know it so they figure they don't have to offer the Raiders anything, just sit back and watch.

I saw some clips of some of the competitions and I honestly disagree. I thought it looked kinda fun. But yeah, the actual "football" game is this weekend.

Steve Smith on the Wilks vs Reich debate
Mr. Scot replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
Doubt we'll ever know if the team said anything directly to Wilks about Holcomb, but Smitty is correct in saying he could at least conceivably have read the tea leaves. And yeah staffing was, by all accounts, a big factor in this search. If you weren't selling people that made the team feel good, well... -
I think he's referring to the guy you were quoting. Also, you're not a guy
-
A thread not strictly related to coaching news, but starting off...
-
He doesn't have one. It's bullsh-t.

Steve Smith on the Wilks vs Reich debate

Lady Cowboy Fan and I are very happy together, but we still occasionally talk about our respective exes. When we do, it's typically within the context of being happy that we're no longer in those relationships or sometimes just saying "Man, can't believe I ever put up with that. I feel so much smarter and better about myself now". It can be highly therapeutic to look back at where you used to be and see how far you've come. -
Would you take Eric sleeping with Bieniemy as OC?
Mr. Scot replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
As to the question, besides the issues that owners in the league seem to have with him, I'm not really interested in our offense being part of somebody's reinvention tour. That'd feel like having Rob Chudzinski all over again -
Would you take Eric sleeping with Bieniemy as OC?
Mr. Scot replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Regardless of how anybody feels about Bieniemy, I don't really think his coming to another team where he'll be under an offensive coach and won't call the plays fits in with what he's trying to do. -
Neither coaching nor news, but a good memory Had they won the Super Bowl, both they and their fans would have been insufferable for eternity. I'll always be grateful to the Giants for sparing us from that

Steve Smith on the Wilks vs Reich debate
Mr. Scot replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's reasonable. Probably also helps that the main people doing the interviewing this year actually had a friggin clue about football -

His name is Coley Mick. He's a fantasy football / podcast guy who used to work for Barstool Sports. And he doesn't know sh-t -
Panthers Social Team is having too much fun

I'm suddenly hearing you in Cheech Marin's voice. I don't honestly know whether I should be or not
