I suspect Watson could be a PR nightmare for them. (Jimmy and Dee Haslam aren't exactly helping)

Story on the Joe Brady situation from Charles Robinson..
Mr. Scot replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Don't know that it ever got that far with Caldwell. Rhule's entire quote from the Joe Person interview was "I’ve tried to get Jim Caldwell to come work for me a couple times. His son actually played for my father in ninth-grade football." No further details. There were rumors about us looking at him when Rhule was hired (from Jourdan Rodrigue, I think) but I never saw a confirmed interview. That could have been one of Rhule's "times" but we don't know for sure. Might never have gotten past a phone call. Also, the guy they named QB coach that season was already on staff (Jake Peetz). Ryan wasn't brought aboard until the following year. -

McAdoo didn't interview for OC that year. Brady had already gotten the job. Ben McAdoo was one of three guys who we were initially looking at for QB coach, the other two being Scott Linehan and Mike McCoy. Not sure how many remember, but we ultimately with with Jake Peetz. Sean Ryan didn't come aboard until the following season after Peetz left for a college job. (pretty sure McAdoo interviewed for the QB coach role that year too) -

Tried to come up with a good football movie analogy for how this thread turned, but as far as I know there aren't any football movies starring Pauly Shore (or Tommy Wiseau) -
Klein had a pretty good take on that as well... So did this guy...

Posting the forced apology interview followed by its retraction once the punishment was known says a lot...

The Jets are the team he had turned down a few years before because they wanted to dictate one of his coaching staff hires, specifically Gregg Williams as the DC. Everybody now knows there's no way that was gonna be anybody but Phil Snow. The thing with the Giants was that once we made our contract offer, he took it to them to see if they'd match it. They would not, and thus... -

Rhule had actually stated before the hiring started that he wanted to find some experienced people, including possibly some former head coaches. Instead, it worked out that he pretty much brought most of his Baylor staff with him. -

You remember correctly. And as I recall, the initial connection between Rhule and Brady came about because they had the same agent. -

Nah. Pretty share to say this one's gone to hell. As to topics with good debates, just click. I've been in plenty. They just tend to not be with guys who spend time talking football rather than other stuff. And to be clear, I have neither "followers" nor "minions". That's as insane a suggestion as I've heard in a while. -
Is Matt Rhule "Power Posing" in the middle of joint practices?

I think he's just waiting for the M, the C and the A -

Minions? So now, people who agree with me are minions? Yikes Truth be told, there are plenty of people on here with good football intelligence and as a result, lots of good discussion to be had. But that certainly isn't what's happening in this topic...at least not anymore. -

Directly above that... The rest of the post had a pretty condescending tone as well. Also, from earlier... So...yeah This is what the complaint was about, and I'm having to engage myself to highlight it. Conversations, and even disagreement, with intelligent people can be civil and enjoyable. This? Not so much. -

Pretty sure he's a coach now (Seahawks...I think)

I can sign on with pretty much all of that... -
Watson basically admits he didn't mean his apology... I've worked some sh-tty jobs in my time, but I can't imagine what it's like to work in public relations for the Browns right now
-
I'd imagine many similar statements were made around that same time

Some serious irony here I don't know if Ekwonu will be ready or not. I do know that for a position where the transition from college to pro is difficult, giving them more reps is a far superior choice than giving them less reps.
