  1. They'd hang on to Jimmy Clausen jerseys if they thought they could sell them. The team store is not an indicator of team direction.
  2. As to the topic, McAdoo has typically been a West Coast guy, but in this case we know that Matt Rhule wants a run heavy offense. I'm gonna be interested to see how much McAdoo compromises on that front.
  3. Side Note: We've got a couple of different Ellises that we pull from here (this one being Observer beat writer Ellis Williams as opposed to Twitter turned radio guy John Ellis). Might be a good idea to specify which one you're quoting in future thread titles.
  4. To be fair, Pickett doesn't appear to be either of those things. My issue with him has been that he strikes me that as a guy who puked in college and isn't necessarily going to get better. If we do pick him I will of course hope that I'm wrong.
  5. When the next natural step be to acquire a physically and mentally limited quarterback?
  6. Trade for them now and you telegraph your draft plans.
  7. Seriously though, how flat out stupid is this? Bad enough that you want to erase something that's been a big part of the fan culture, but for a replacement you offer up some generic bullsh-t that's already in use by a bunch of other teams. That's the kind of strategy that could be hatched only by an absolute idiot.
  8. "The first thing I care about...is winning!" Yeah, sure Dave
  9. Exactly. Maybe we should try "all in" next. (or perhaps "beat Duke")
  10. And our own marketing team came up with the same thing... coincidentally
  11. That makes it pretty clear it came from a college source. I wonder who that might be?
  12. So did the marketing team just happen to come up with the exact same slogan and wording that Matt Rhule used at Baylor on their own?
  13. It's a terrible idea. As far as plausibility though, yes it could happen. Actually given our current leadership, it being a terrible idea might make it more likely to happen.
  14. With Matt Rhule still retaining final roster say, I'd say he has a good chance of being right.
  15. I would, specifically because it's pushing out the legacy of Sam Mills. That it's being done by a sh-tty coach and an equally sh-tty owner just makes it that much worse.
  16. Video here (courtesy of Ellis)
  17. Would a marketing team come up with a new team slogan on their own? I have a hard time believing somebody in marketing one day just decided, "Hey, you know what? Let's come up with something to replace 'keep pounding'"
  18. I don't know that I'd put the Patriots on that list anymore. For one, their drafts have been sh-t for years. They had to go on a crazy free agency blitz to make up for that last season and still ended up one and done in the playoffs. (losing in embarrassing fashion, I might add)
  19. If you change it to "everything he touches having to do with football" it's a pretty true statement.
