  1. Not a big fan of Walter Football. But with that said, statements like "teams around the league see the Panthers as dysfunctional and Matt Rhule on a power trip" aren't exactly hard to believe.
  2. Still find it amusing that going into "recruiting mode" on Rhule ended up costing Hurney his job. And and then you have Mr Analytics who admitted that hiring Rhule came down to "a feeling".
  3. I feel like we have to explain this a lot... His job isn't to know more about football than fans. That'd be easy. Rhule's job is to be better at coaching football than guys like Sean Payton, Bruce Arians and Bill Belichick. What he showed last year is that he's not even as good a football coach as Joe Judge, Mike Zimmer, our old friend Ron Rivera and several other head coaches who wound up getting fired. So yeah, if bragging about being better than fans is all you've got, welp...
  4. No, it's not. Very good OL class though. I'm trying to think of the last time I saw us take advantage of a situation like that.
  5. The standard "pay raise / fancier sounding title / basically the same duties / frame it as a promotion" bit was done just a short time ago.
  6. Probably won't happen, but it's possible.
  7. Yeah, that's my mistake. Maybe one of the mods can fix that. I've been looking at Senior Bowl stuff all day so I guess it's on my brain
  8. Everybody got your tinfoil hats on? But why is he there? (probably just to watch and enjoy a little pressure free football, but hey...)
  9. Simmons has gotten DC interviews before. If I remember correctly, he was up for the Dallas DC job but went to Quinn.
  10. Yeah, that's kinda hard to imagine. One of the offensive or defensive lineman maybe, but not Pickett.
  11. There are some great looking Uglies this year. And I'm worried that just like so many other years, we're going to miss out on them
  12. I don't think Pickett is garbage, but I do fear he's that "guy who made a lot of money out of being good for a short time" kind of player, i.e. the kind of guy who never replicates his college success at the pro level.
  13. Which, while a cool fact, doesn't really mean anything. Bottom Line: There's not a single quarterback that I would want in the first round this year, not at number six for sure. But I won't be surprised if we pick one anyway.
  14. I see people talking about Willis like he's another Cam Newton. When I do, I always wonder if those people actually remember how good Cam Newton was. Willis is nowhere near that good. And he's certainly not the freakish athlete Newton was.
  15. Was hoping we'd have a shot at him. Still haven't seen word on whether we've even interviewed anyone for the spot. That's typically the kind of thing that goes on at the Senior Bowl.
  16. There were definitely people who had reservations at the time. Hell, the news of his hiring came out of nowhere. A lot of us were still processing that it had even happened before there was time to really think about it.
  17. Oh please oh please oh please oh please
  18. The biggest things that bothered me at the time were One, he was a college coach; Two, he was picked by Marty Hurney and; Three, they didn't finish the interview process with the other candidates. It got worse when the story of his interview came out. Couldn't shake the image of a gullible person being goaded into something by a fast talking salesman. Like always though, I tried to talk myself into signing on. I did like how he spoke. He's great at that. And for a while there it looked like he'd been the right choice. But now...
  19. Sounds like somebody might be a tad bitter... Harbaugh was quoted as saying "Well if they won't let me be the coach I'm just gonna take my ball and go home!"
