We didn't just pull this one out, we looked damned good. Almost forgot we were 2/3 of a line short of a full roster at times, including the final two minutes. This team has heart and that's been consistent with RBA teams thus far. Make no excuses, find a way to get it done.

Set lines won't matter except for situationally. We're rolling short shifts at the start of the periods and hoping to strike quick. Only shot we have to win this one. We are the definition of shambles.

I'm just saying....all but a literal couple of people in the NHL are vaccinated (I know it's like 2 players are unvaccinated. Every official is vaccinated. I imagine most/all coaches are, as well as front office personnel). Most of the public is as well. If you're asymptomatic for 24 hours, you should be clear. But then I'm no doctor so that may in actuality be a terrible idea, I honestly don't know.

Need to set the minimum roster for a game to have full lines and pairings with an alternate for each. No way should 7 forwards be expected to roll the whole game. They're going to have to run it like a pickup game. So stupid.

The team is 100% vaccination. Breakthroughs are going to happen and as often as they travel, it's hard to really tell how much contact they have with other people and things other people touch or handle. I'm of the mind that vaccination means lower viral load anyway, right? If so, just let them travel back to Raleigh and be at home for the rest of protocol. Really isn't much reason to keep them in Vancouver.

The long season lends itself to fewer knee jerk reactions. I remember being a bubble playoff team and other Canes boards and the Reddit were pretty heated when we'd make bad personnel decisions or whatnot, but you're right it's generally not as toxic as the main forum.

Honestly fine with him being purely defensive. Could be useful to have that extra ugly on pk and bottom lines.

He's pure potential. If he puts on size he could be a force because he likes to play physical. Not sure how he is on the puck but everything I've seen on him says he's more of a defensive guy

Aho won't get respect from hockey media without a cup. Eric Staal barely did even with a cup and being from one of the bigger hockey families in Canada. But the league already knows. Aho is undeniable. Svech has to find his point production consistency. He could be a premiere winger but I fear he may be stuck as being just another really really good winger. Which I'm ok with but he could be more. Just want him to be a point per game guy.

Well last night went well. Let's see if we can get over on Vancouver tonight. They're all healthy, we have some guys out. They're also pretty rested. They aren't world beaters but they're a good hockey team with fresher legs than we'll have. No lineups yet but I'm excited about this one after the other Carolina team absolutely ruined my day.

Cam has his foot stepped on and turns it over trying to give us a chance. I'm mad but also not mad at the same time. Like this is just comedy at this point. God has forsaken us.

The thing with Cam is the offense can't struggle. He's a good passer...but not great. He's the best run threat in the league. There is no other player like Cam. There are faster QBs, more slippery QBs, but not any with his ability, size and ability to still be an adequate passer. If he's not running, he's less dangerous and the offense is less potent. Cam isn't a guy we can rely on because he will be hurt eventually. We know this. But for the immediate future (this season and I believe next season, minimum), he's our guy and should be our guy. Eventually we need a better QB, but we're not finding better anytime soon. Best option.

Cam has literal years of experience running 2 minute offense in big games that mattered, and Rhule doesn't trust Cam to execute the 2 minute drill but does trust PJ fuging Walker who looked like a player out of his depth the entire drive he was in. Inept fuging dumb goddamn coaching Fire. Rhule.

If Cam isn't hurt, fire Rhule at halftime.

The OL overall looked very good that drive. Let's see if they can keep it up. Maybe Jeff has this offense functioning properly, maybe it's just the early honeymoon phase. Regardless, that's the best use of screens we've had in two years or longer.
