  1. Geno Smith has an $8 mil guarantee due March 15th and the cap hit is not high for getting rid of him($18.5 mil total), so don't be surprised if they attempt to move him or cut him. I think the next HC will have a say in that. TBH, I would very much like to get my hands on Smith to shore up the QB situation for at least a couple of years. Price dependent, of course.
  2. They are retaining the GM per reports.
  3. Watching him play, I have always suspected that he might not be as athletic as his production indicates. For a player like him, I do think he will have to test out well athletically for him to be a top 50 draft pick. I like him but I want to see the results to see if my eyes are deceiving me.
  4. Agreed. He was the architect of that mess.
  5. That's sort of the way I look at it. Let the young guys at least get a taste of playoff football. They beat my projected 4-7 wins by 1, so that's a surprise and a good sign. Focus on continuing to build a credible NFL roster across the board in the offseason. Get another good draft in the books.
  6. I get the mindset but we don't have to have our heads in the sand, even if the organization does. For as stacked of an EDGE/DE class as 2025 was supposed to be, the early returns were very paltry. Only Pierce really produced at a high level. I was surprised more of that class didn't have a bigger initial impact.
  7. Yeah, that's likely someone who is unfamiliar with team needs and is basically doing a BPA draft. KC is going to depend on his speed/quickness testing at the combine. That might be pretty early for him. I like the idea of that kind of player because he also returns kicks/punts. I mentioned that in another thread today, wanting to get a Dike-like player that can play WR and be an elite KR/PR. It's been forever that we even tried to do that.
  8. Yeah, that's a little less impressive than never having recorded an INT over an entire season. That's wild. Both are insane, for sure.
  9. So, I took a look at this from a pure stats perspective and added a little context. I don't have snap by snap individual grades but essentially I compared the games that Curhan played above 20 snaps(or 50% of overall offensive snaps) to Corbett's 4 games started at OG. RB Yards Per Carry to the Right Side(not including QB): 5.10 for Curhan. However, the average ranking of the rush defense faced was 13.7. RB Yards Per Carry to the Right Side(not including QB): 3.47 for Corbett. However, the average ranking of the rush defense faced was 8. It's would be interesting to see a more detailed/graded breakdown of them snap by snap. I do think there is at least some evidence Curhan might be more effective from a 10,000 foot view.
  10. First, these mock drafts are going to be very bad and very general now. Second, drafting solely based on need is a very quick way to have a very bad draft. Positionsl value and player value will factor. This is a worry March-April.
  11. Cross is the 3rd highest so Ikey should garner a top 5-10 deal. That should be $20.5-25 mil/yr AAV. That is fine. Technically it would be around the same as Moton, who has a top 5 RT contract at $22 mil/yr AAV. If Ikey garners a $25 mil AAV deal then next year the AAV of our OL would be $80.25 mil without the center. I will say, the amount of money we have spent on the OL will be absurd if we don't finish in the top 10 in either rushing yards or sacks allowed from 2026 onward.
  12. I mean that record literally goes back to 1933. That's a level that is hard to reach for anyone.
  13. Bad team, basically. Dike has had a wild season statistically too(leads NFL in AP yards) but because he is on the Titans, he will get overlooked. Fannin Jr. would probably get more love too. He has had an exceptional season.
  14. The Jets just embarked on a multi-year tank job. They did load up on draft assets though. We will see how long it takes them to rebuild after trading away most of their talent.
  15. True but he actually did speed up the QB's decision making process. We literally don't field a single player that can do that on even a relatively consistent basis. Nic Scourton led our team in Pressures in 2025 with 15. That is tied for 80th in the NFL. Burns career low in pressures(even lower than his rookie season) was playing in that Evero defense.
  16. It isn't that different, that is why it is funny. They are sinking to our level in Blank's last years.
  17. Well he did have Brown and Burns in 2023. I realize that version of Brown was absolutely nothing like this version. I do think it is some of both. He hasn't had the talent but his schemes also don't result in effective QB pressure.
  18. Oh same. I have seen this cycle in many corporations. It makes me laugh every time. It's groupthink BS. Although in a regular Fortune 500 company it's usually just a smokescreen for cutting people's jobs.
  19. Week 2 but that is typically a longer recovery time for a football player because it isn't just healing, it's having to regain all the strength lost too. Hunt isn't going to matter enough to make a big difference(despite what people seem to think). Just get him healthy for 2026.
  20. I started laughing around paragraph three and the laughs kept coming. That man will never see success in his lifetime if someone sold him on all that BS.
  21. If it means exposing him to further injury, no thanks. This is not a Super Bowl team, don't throw away 2026 for a pipe dream.
  22. I looked at Evero's career stats and the highest his defenses have ever finished in Sacks is 23rd. 2025: 28th 2024: 29th 2023: 32nd 2022: 23rd
