I'd be pretty concerned if he didn't have that attitude as a professional.

What will Taylor Moton's contract look like?
kungfoodude replied to Dex's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think somewhere in the $17-20 mil a year range. You gotta remember that salaries are due to make a big jump with the new TV deal so what may look like crazy money next offseason(or even this offseason if we are lucky), may not look like that much in 2023, 2024, etc. -
I'll actually try this: QB: Darnold, Walker, Grier RB: CMC, Chubba Hubbard, Bonnafon? FB: Some UDFA kid? TE: Tremble, Arnold, Thomas WR: DJ, Robby, Shi Smith, David Moore?, the LSU kid who's name is on the tip of my tongue, a couple of JAGS from last season OL: Irving, Elflein, Daley, Little, Moton, Paradis, Moore, Brown, Christensen, Miller, K/P/LS: Slye, fug I forget the punters name now, JJ Jansen, the 6th round kid from Bama DE/EDGE: Burns, YGM, Haynes, Reddick, DT: Brown, Jones, Fox, Roy, Nixon, some other rookie DT I am forgetting LB: Miller, Shaq, Perryman, the UNC kid S: Chinn, Burris, CB: Horn, Jackson, Bouye, Taylor, Pride So, 42. A little less than I thought but about 5-6 I am just seeing faces and not remembering names.

I think that basically answers that question.

Yeah, having some key vets to mentor our younger players would be nice but spending a bunch of coin on a guy on his way out of the league is, as was stated in this thread already, a very Rivera/Hurney move. Roll with what we have now. If our offseason was a success, awesome. Keep building. If it was a failure, back to the drawing board in the 2022 offseason to figure out how to keep getting better. No dumb cap moves, no lengthy free agent deals, no bad trades for vets. None of that.

Yeah, think about how long it was that we had, at best, one good WR.
-
Gilmore is an attempt to win now signing. We aren't even remotely close to being in that position.
-
Well, Horn may be an outlier too. We will see.
-
He's an outlier. Usually it takes 1-3 seasons before those first round CB's really start taking off.
-
I don't want to saddle him with too high of expectations just because sometimes there is an adjustment for young CB's. But, it is super hard not to get very excited about what he can do. All the behind the scenes info seems to indicate he is very keen on perfecting his craft. That is extremely, EXTREMELY exciting.

Speaking of the guys who call Panther games: Steve Smith, Sr.

I am extremely excited about this. -
This is either a threat or flirting. I am not sure.
-
Yep. All these discussions are academic until the reps mean something. We aren't going to know anything about Darnold until we see him in the actual games. I will make this semi-hyperbolic statement, if he doesn't come out of the gates swinging against his old team in Game 1.....I don't think that will bode well for the future.

70/1 Give me a scenario where.........
kungfoodude replied to mrcompletely11's topic in Carolina Panthers
In think in the preseason, Tampa has to be the heavy, heavy, heavy favorite. I too have been predicting Tom's demise but he seems to defy the odds. He will falter at some point but I am done predicting it. The Saints are the obvious #2 IMO, if they figure out their QB situation. I think with Jameis they are gonna be tough to play. With The Golden Calf of Bristol-light, they will start to fall apart. I think Payton's ego gets the best of him and he tries to use Hill to prove he is a genius. Atlanta is tough on paper. But....aren't they every offseason? Falcons gonna Falcon. -

He retired. -
Agreed. I love having a deep DL rotation. It seems like our most successful defenses were when we had depth on the DL.

He was also playing next a one of a kind freak in Donald and on a pretty stacked line.
