  1. Laettner?? Duke has plenty of model players that you could pick from but Christian leaned more infamous than famous.
  2. I don't want to break the bank going after OL free agents anyway. That's a quick way to get into cap hell, especially with so many on the roster coming up for second deals in the next 2-3 seasons. I am fine going hard at an elite LT, because they are so hard to obtain but we need to try and build from the draft and maybe plug a few better stop gap options in the interior of the line over the next 2-3 seasons. Like you, I want to see the young guys get a chance. If we can get just one solid starter from that lot, it would be something to start from. We all know Paradis, Erving, Elflein and Miller are not likely to be here in 3 seasons.
  3. Not sure if I believe that, considering how much trouble he has had beating anyone in the NFL preseason so far.
  4. That poo had me laughing. Best video we have had here in the last few weeks.
  5. That one just annoyed me a lot because it was invented completely out of thin air and spread like wildfire here, despite not a single shred of any INKLING of a rumor being attached to it.
  6. Agreed. If those things transpire, this will look bad in hindsight. Right now, I have no issues with it. In a bubble, it's a pretty good deal.
  7. We aren't likely to address the offensive line with big offseason signings. If you haven't noticed, we dumpster drive and draft. If that doesn't work......it just kind of is what it is. 100% disagree with that strategy but that certainly seems to be the case.
  8. Yeah and if TMJ doesn't work out, we regroup and keep Robby or draft someone else. So much flexibility with this deal. Also, can likely jettison Robby in the last year of his deal with relatively little impact if we decide to move on.
  9. Just wait....it will get lower in the next two weeks. Hopefully rattling off a couple of wins will turn it around a few percentage points.
  10. Yes, because you can't show a single bit of evidence. This along with the fact that he showed up for most of the offseason and just inked an extension. How dumb can you actually be?
  11. However, he didn't hold out. He has basically shown up for the bulk of the entire offseason. That is also "not good business" since you can also get injured just as easily during that period. That's why it made absolutely no sense when people were spinning this yarn about him being a malcontent. That was never true.
  12. Thanks for checking in, you were definitely one of the dopes I was referring to. How about this, Mr. "Read Between the Lines", show me one shred of actual evidence that was ever the case?
  13. 100%. This is basically 1000+ yard production pay. As long as he continues to do that, it will be a very fair deal.
  14. None of that was true nor was the "Robby doesn't want to be here" conspiracy theory. It was based on absolutely zero documented, factual information nor even any real rumor mill information. It was based purely on idiots on the internet pulling things out of there ass. That was why I got annoyed by that stupid poo. It was based on nothing.
  15. The cap is going up. That isn't going to be that much money for a WR that produces what Robby has for us.
  16. Can we please get a roll call of all the dopes spreading the "Robby doesn't want to be here" conspiracy theories? You know who you are.
  17. He's probably on the worst coached team in the NFL, so I would disagree.
  18. Pretty sure if you look at Drew Brees playoff history, he might be the one that is cursed.
  19. Actually even more reason to not bring him in. The one position you can rarely ever afford an injury is a kicker. Almost everyone just carries one kicker and one punter. You just can't be an injury prone kicker.
  20. The first one was the worst because it was right there....we were so close. The second one just made me angry at everything. It was the worst team we had played all postseason, our coaching staff didn't make any adjustments, and we were so clearly getting fuged by the refs. I wasn't depressed at all about that one, I was furious.
  21. As Mr.. Scot pointed out we brought in three kickers this offseason to try out, so I don't think he was being protected that well. The team talked at some point this offseason about bringing in a sports psychologist to work with him. That was what clearly didn't work. I was done with him early on but I can't see why anyone inside or outside the team isn't over Slye at this point. As I stated earlier, kickers will be cut and be available, if we roll with Slye this season all his shanks will be 100% Matt Rhule's fault.
  22. I will point out that his career high school long was 46 and his career college long was 50. He actually has a long history of not being able to make those 50+ yard kicks, despite all his leg. Similarly, he was a career 72.4% FG kicker in four years at VT. He is, quite literally, the kind of kicker that goes undrafted, gets a few tryouts and then never plays a single NFL game that we see every single offseason. For some reason we opted to keep him. I'll make this easy prediction, he won't last in the NFL long after we jettison him. He is the kicking version of Brenton Bersin.
