poo is about to get REALLLLLLLY interesting, really fast. Hold on to your butts. -
We really do not know anything about this situation officially. All we have heard is media speculation and "unnamed sources close to the situation" blah blah blah. But superstar franchise QBs do not go for cheap, regardless if they have situations like Watson. You saw what Seattle got for Wilson, so don't be surprised when Watson goes for something along those lines to some team.
-
Is it your opinion that any team trading for Watson would be screwed, or just the Panthers in particular? Because teams make huge trades all the time, mostly for high 1st round draft picks, but there have been more and more huge trades lately and they don't seem to ever cripple the trading team.

Whole lot of Deshaun Watson chatter happening out there

Don't we already have an entire scouting department? -

Yup. And he doesn't have "near elite" accuracy, he is maybe the most accurate passer in the entire league. in 2020 he completed a whopping 70.1% of his passes, for almost 5000 yards. So its not like hes just checking down to the RB every play. Dude is an All-World QB. His lowest completion percentage when starting a full season is 67%. -
Football is the ultimate team sport. However you must have a great QB to do anything. Watson would check that box and we could move on to filling the other holes. Wtf is the alternative? Drafting a jabroni like Pickett or Willis? fug that. Get one of the best in the entire world and then build around him. I’m tired of all this bullshit. Just get it done.

Darnold never came close to throwing for 5000 yards and 30 + TDs in a season. Now, that came with 30 picks too, but still Jameis is much much much more prolific a passer than Sam ever thought about being.
-
I mean Jameis is a MUCH better QB than Darnold, but if we're just going to be shuffling around mid QBs might as well just stick with Sam one more year and get a top draft pick next season when a lot of possible future franchise guys will be available.

Tepper hired a private investigator to look into Deshaun Watson

Well you have to start somewhere. Just because we are not good now, does not mean that we cannot build something good over the next couple years. Beginning that with one of the best QBs in the league is a good start. The Rams were not the Rams they are now when their GM embarked on his plan. It took years and years of moves and acquiring players. -

My point is, nobody who is like "Damn, hes an amazing player, no way can we lose him!" All those guys are utterly replaceable, probably with guys who are cheaper too. The draft is always a crap shoot. I respect the Rams model recently. Take the known studs, versus the unknown draft picks. And in this case, Watson is probably a better player and more productive than any 2 first rounders in the next 2 drafts. -

Decades? Really? Don't you think thats a little hyperbole? Yeah that elite player with nothing else beside him took us to 15-1, won the MVP and almost won it all. And what makes you think that they will not build the team around Watson? There are plenty of other ways to build a good team besides first round draft picks. I mean, poo....look at our recent first rounders. Not exactly lighting the world on fire, are they? -

The same could be said for just about any other team he goes to, except maybe Seattle or Philly which both now have a ton of extra draft picks. Any team who trades for him is going to take it on the chin in the compensation aspect of it. -

To be fair there is not one concrete report from Watson or his representation as to where he would or would not waive his no trade clause for. The people who do know are not talking, and everybody else is just pulling poo out of their asses for clicks and views.
