  1. For a team whose whole raison d'etre seems to be "Any shot is a good shot!" I will never fathom their endless search for the perfect shot on the PP.
  2. Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Out vs. Washington Roslo sat for Janky the last 3 games. I would assume it's for size/physicality reasons. With Jank out, it will be interesting to see if Rod goes for firepower (Roslo) or horsepower (Tyson) or both...
  3. As much as I'd love to see us go 11-7 with Darling Nikki drawing in, if Janky can't go, i doubt tonight'sthat night. Either way, its gonna be a physical game, it'll probably be Jost if Janky can't go.
  4. Maybe it's the victory dabs, but I'm dying at Carrier having 7 hits in 8 minutes of ice time! 100 dudes vs 1 Carrier, who ya got?
  5. The only thing I can think of is that it is PTSD from having to practice against our PK all year. Maybe we can get the Jr Canes out there for practice to build the guys confidence up...
  6. As much as I love the sentiment, that is one matchup I absolutely do not want to see! Maybe l we let Carrier or Burns handle that particular job...
  7. Just don't let it turn into momentum.
  8. fug! You could feel the desperation brewing for them...
  9. Bettman won't do poo until someone dies on national TV.
  10. Really excited to see how old man strength takes Aho's game to another level!
  11. Pretty sure baby came on Friday... Luckily for all involved, Aho's have impeccable timing!
  12. Lil Guppie has officially arrived!
  13. I'm well versed in the minutiea of the Canes radio broadcast system... lol I've been back in WNC for about 15 years now. And, until very recently, we would only get Predators games on the RSNs out here. So, radio was the only option for me to keep up with the team. These were the dark years, too. Maybe, once a year, you'd get to see us get smashed on national TV by some original 6 powerhouse. If you were really lucky, Jeff Skinner would bless you with one of his absolutely stunning pirouette passes to nowhere, before Wardo toppled over off his head, giving up a goal on his 70th shot faced that night for an inspiring 1-0 loss. But, that story sounds a whole lot cooler when Chuck Kaiton is telling it to you in real-time with the raspy drawl of a calving heifer! Before TuneIn or the Canes apps even existed, I used to have to find the one spot out in the back yard, where the hills and trees parted just right, that I could pickup 730(?)AM The Buzz all the way out in Catawba county. I'd sit in the shadow of the mighty Appalachians, staring out at the stars and getting high with stray cats, while being serenaded by the worst hockey you've never seen played in your life. That all, finally, started to change around the time TD bought the team. Part of that is due to the new NHL TV contracts and the constant reorganization of the RSNs themselves. Part, was me breaking up with that feral cat and moving to LKN to escape all the painful memories. The march of progress, and all that... I will say though, as much as I've criticized Dundon and as much as I loathe the existence of billionaires on principle, he has done an exceptional job of improving the fan experience, on the whole. Working with the league to expand the coverage map and bringing in outdoor games and all-star weeks has been huge. But, improving the quality on the ice (and of the ice) for all levels of hockey across the state has been even bigger! I forgot where I was going with all this, but... I'll still never forgive him for retiring Chuck K, though! HEY, HEY, WHADDYA SAY!!!!
  14. Lmao... The SBNation article is still live, too!
  15. 99.9 The Fan in Raleigh will have Mike, Tripp and the gang throughout the playoffs. If you are not in the triangle broadcast area, you can listen through the Canes website or the TuneIn app. The ads on TuneIn can be annoying, but I've found it much easier to sync up with the TV broadcast than through the Canes site.
  16. I got got... https://www.milehighhockey.com/2025/5/3/24422778/nhl-25-nichushkin-scores-twice-avalanche-advance-to-second-round NHL 25: Nichushkin scores twice, Avalanche advance to Second Round It was another classic Game 7 battle between the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars.
