We've wrapped up the division. It was never really even in peril. That's despite playing short multiple games due to injuries. Despite losing our starting goalie for the majority of the season to 2 different injuries. And, now we are getting healthy right in time for the playoffs. Ned and Mraz are both top 5 goalies when they are on the ice this year. The luxury to choose your goalie based on style in the playoffs is unheard of. And, we have the chance to go in as the #1 overall seed or choose our first round opponent. Regardless of anything else that happens from here on out, we already have few new trophy cases to build. Might as well put the pedal to the metal and try to bring home as many as possible. We dominated while beat up and injured. Healthy? I trust us against anybody. But, I trust Rod over everything so either way... 1620322841077.mp4

Criticism of the pick doesn't necessarily equal criticism of the player. I still don't really like the selection. However, everything I have read about the player has me excited. We haven't had a corner this talented since John Fox, at least. Right or wrong, living up to the expectations of passing on Fields/Jones is going to be Darnold's job. If Sammy balls out, nobody will have a word to say about it. If Jones or Fields outperforms Hey Darnold, though, Rhule and Fitt are gonna feel some heat. None of that has anything to do with Horn. We didn't pass on Fields for Jaycee, we passed on him for The Ginger Avenger.

So, according to the NHL, it is 50x worse to criticize the officials than to commit attempted homicide.

ASSPN... Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson was fined $5,000 for punching New York Rangers forward Pavel Buchnevich in the back of the head while he was facedown on the ice, according to the NHL Department of Player Safety. He's not even being punished for the Panarin poo at all. The fine is for the dirty hit that started the scrum in the first place. When it came to Wilson throwing Panarin to the ice, the league also felt it was commonplace when players engage during a scrum. I was joking a few weeks ago, when I said that the NHL wouldn't care about player safety until someone dies on the ice. Seems it wasn't really a joke. If I'm a DA in NY I'm drawing up charges. If the league won't stop Wilson, somebody has to.
