I watch the Canadian feeds of the games instead of anything ESPN/TNT/American based. Much better commentary and balanced. I don't know if that applies if it's a Canadian team playing against a US team, but so much better than those imbeciles at ESPN/TNT etc.

Team has exceeded my expectations, playing with house money IMO. Marley girl must have got her hooks into Nookie....by gawd that man is playing like a beast. #LetsGoCanes

I, by no means, think Waddles or the "Brain Trust" are bad at all. I do believe they made the right call on Timo and offered a very nice haul to the Sharks, but did the right thing when the Sharks wanted more. It also makes figuring out how to sign our players a lot easier than trying to come up with a plan to keep Timo. We knew the team was looking for another D-man to QB PP2 and be more of an offensive threat than de Haan or Coghlan (not that he was going to get the nod over de Haan anyways), so we went out and rented Ghost. Ghost has been serviceable, but I am not sure the Canes can afford him in the off season. It may be Maxime Lajoie next year. Disappointed by Coghlan. The one thing I think the Canes failed to do was find scoring. The one trade they should have made was for Nino. Nino knows our system, knows our players, and would have been more of an offensive threat. I think we missed out there. At any rate, hindsight is 20/20 and so far the Canes have been able to plug our farm guys in and have played well. I hope it continues!! #LFG!!!!

Fasty and Martinook bringing the energy and the guys seem to be feeding off of it. The Devils are out of rhythm for sure, the Rags series had to take a lot out of them.

I am sure he is, or maybe he just watched the first 2 periods and turned it off. That's what I would have done. I believe that I can be a jinx sometimes.

Devils aren't toast, they say a series doesn't begin until the home team has lost at home. Barring a major meltdown we have protected our house, now the Devils will need to do the same. I take nothing for granted, but I am really happy to see the guys playing lights out.

No he wasn't. Waddles still didn't do what I and many others thought he should have done and got another scorer and honestly we still look anemic on offense. The series against the Devils may expose our lack of offensive firepower unless we play great defensively. I will say that with Svech and Turbo going down maybe it was all for the best he didn't give up the farm and instead brought up some of the farm.

Glad the Devils and Panthers took out the garbage. It's going to be a tough series against NJ, they are fast. We can only hope the defense tamps down and we stay aware on the ice so they don't get so many odd man rushes, the Rags got opened up like a can of peaches last night. Hopefully Andersen and Raanta play as well as they did in the first round as well. Let's see if we can go one round further this year, but with the injuries I have realistic expectations.

Winning in the 1st round was pretty solid with all our injuries. It will only get tougher from here on out. Gotta find the offense from our offense and have Andersen and Raanta to continue to play as well as they have. Goalies have been much better than I thought they would be. Both Statsny and Stepan are getting long in the tooth, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they retired. I think we'll have guys like MackEachern (he's a UFA), Drury, Rees, Koivunen, and Ponomarev battling for forward positions. Can we sign Staal and Fast back for reasonable contracts? I think so. On Defense, De Haan and Ghost are UFAs. Don't know if we even try to sign Ghost because we'll need that money in the coming years. Lajoie or Seeley's time?

Hey don't forget Dalpe, Gustav Forsling, and Eetu Luostarinen all former Canes in some fashion or another.

One can only hope, especially Marchand.

Sorokin had that squared up pretty well, puck went in just the right place to deflect in off his lower right pad. Stastny lasered that puck, he didn't have much of a choice TBH as the Isles already had 3 men back on defense. Puck luck finally came on home for the Canes!!

The more I watch some videos (not going to call it tape) of Johnson, the more I think he may start out as an OLB. He has the speed and strength to cover both inside and outside zone runs, plus after playing TE he should be able to cover TEs pretty well (and he did in college, but NFL TEs are a different story). I think if he lines up as a DE next year he will be standing (a la Burns and Reddick) and not using a 3-pt stance (like in the previous video) They used him in stunts a lot last year at Oregon and I can see Evero wanting to do the same with the OLB coming down to cover any outside zone runs/screens. He also needs to use his leverage better when he engages a tackle, seen him rush too straight up to ever get around a tackle/guard he is engaged with...they call it "getting stood up" for a reason.

I understand not liking Tkachuk, but man do I want the Panthers to send the Booins to the golf course on Sunday. It would be the greatest thing to see ESPN's record setting darlings go down in the 1st round. I am tired of hearing about them...... Same for the Rags, send em home to play some golf tomorrow.

I can't stand the Booins. @glenwo2 I told you Florida wouldn't be an easy out.....Maurice has been coaching in the NHL for a long time, he wears out his welcome with his style of play eventually, but he makes adjustments and knows how to put his team in the best position to win.
