Yeah, I was on the "official" Canes board and those were some down times. I've heard people call Rod's style boring...I'm like go watch the Canes during the Bill Peters era. OMG I couldn't wait until they canned him, wish his dark news would have come out sooner so we could have gotten away from him sooner. At any rate, I'm glad the Canes have come so far since then and it would be nice to have a little luck and have our team healthy during the entire playoffs. Still my team through thick and thin and I am enjoying the success we've been having after all those lost seasons in the 10's. #LetsGoCanes

If someone told me we would hold Florida to an average of 2 goals per game through 3 games I would be ecstatic and thinking the Canes would have at least a 2-1 series lead. What I didn't expect was that we are averaging 1 goal per game. Somehow we were able to get through the first two rounds and our anemic offense went into hiding showing up here and there (mostly during the Islanders series). Now it's really obvious how much we miss Svech, how nice it would be to have Patches on the ice, and have Turbo not coming back from a broken hand and being really out of rhythm (he always is when he first comes back from injury). Throw in the fact that the refs have been poo this series and here we are...... I didn't think we'd get past the second round, and to be honest after Turbo went down I was prepared to go out to the Islanders so I am taking this in stride. I am pissed to be down 3-0 when we easily could be up 3-0 or 2-1. I am pleased to see our goalies plays so well, I never thought Andersen and Raanta would be so consistently solid. Give Bob his credit - he's made the saves needed to steal games and he's in the Canes head - along with us not being elite offensively is a bad combo. Oh yeah, having Staal obviously suffering from some kind of upper body injury doesn't help either. His line has still played well, but Staal isn't laying the wood like he was earlier in the playoffs and he can't put anything on his shot, let alone lift the puck when shooting. He's playing through it... I am not going to knock this team, they got farther than I thought they would and the fat lady hasn't sung yet. She is in the waiting room warming up though..... #LetsGoCanes

Yeah, the Devils don't play as "heavy" as Florida does, but they didn't put up 112 points for nothing. They play a style that allowed us to really impose our will and are young. They still were a good team. Agree that our scoring has disappeared at the worst time possible, but I do give credit to Bob and Florida's style of play. It's a tougher road to hoe. I think we need to shoot, shoot again, and shoot some more. We are going to have to start scoring those dirty, scramble goals and that hasn't happened. If that starts happening we can get back into this. #LetsGoCanes

The Canes are playing hard, but here's my issue with them: their turnovers in the neutral zone and way too many passes when shots are there and then shooting when a Panther is right in front of them and they get it blocked. Aho, Turbo, Necas (a huge offender of not shooting enough), Jarvis and Burns have all done this. The neutral zone turnovers are the entire team. It's been terrible and it has hurt us. I think we need more solid net front presence and pepper Bob with shots. Shoot the dang puck when the shot it there, pretty don't win hockey games.

Neither of those teams are terrible, the Canes have been playing well. Both of these games could have gone either way, it's not even close to being like the Rangers series last year. The team isn't playing as well as they did against the Devils, but they have played well enough to be up 2-0 or tied 1-1. Bob is locked in and we've seen what he can do when he gets in these zones. Just have to keep plugging.... You guys are throwing this team under the bus a little and it's not warranted.

Yeah, Staal almost always gets 3-4 hits in a game - he is solid and lays good, legal checks. Something isn't right because he had 3 or 4 chances to lay into some Panthers and he didn't.

Jarvis, Turbo, and Necas are Top 6 talent. (Turbo when healthy, his rhythm is definitely off and he doesn't need to be on Staal's line). Skjei and Pesce are 2nd tier D lineman and Chatty could be put on a 2nd pair I believe. We have more talent than you give us credit for.

Our goalies have not been the issue, they have been great. We do need a more consistent scoring threat. Svech would be helpful, but hasn't shown that he is a consistent goal scorer. Patches kinda did before he tore his Achilles completely...he is a goal scorer.

I think they were hitting just like they have been in Game 1. Tonight, not as much hitting probably due to fatigue and Staal didn't hit anything....I think his shoulder is hurt.

Tough one again, our lack of scoring has reared it's ugly head. See a lot of hate for Aho and I know he's not scoring, but neither is anyone else for the Canes. Aho's game has been solid overall...I've seen worse from our other forwards. Turbo needs to go 1st line and Noesen maybe to the 3rd. This team is tough enough to win 2 in Florida, if they do they are back in the series. If they only get 1 I don't see it.

He has been damn good 98% of his starts. Stepan needs a rest and maybe Stastny too.

Totally agree, but they saw how the refs were calling it and kept doing it. You have to adjust sometimes....

Canes played sloppy pretty much all night, it was not even a good performance. Freddie and luck kept us in this game. Uncharacteristic neutral zone turnovers and so much icing....I thought we were trying to make a cake. This was the kind of game that we would have stolen if we won....we didn't and the boys need to find their A game now. They played hard, but terrible decision making across the entire game.

I watch the Canadian feeds of the games instead of anything ESPN/TNT/American based. Much better commentary and balanced. I don't know if that applies if it's a Canadian team playing against a US team, but so much better than those imbeciles at ESPN/TNT etc.

Team has exceeded my expectations, playing with house money IMO. Marley girl must have got her hooks into Nookie....by gawd that man is playing like a beast. #LetsGoCanes

I, by no means, think Waddles or the "Brain Trust" are bad at all. I do believe they made the right call on Timo and offered a very nice haul to the Sharks, but did the right thing when the Sharks wanted more. It also makes figuring out how to sign our players a lot easier than trying to come up with a plan to keep Timo. We knew the team was looking for another D-man to QB PP2 and be more of an offensive threat than de Haan or Coghlan (not that he was going to get the nod over de Haan anyways), so we went out and rented Ghost. Ghost has been serviceable, but I am not sure the Canes can afford him in the off season. It may be Maxime Lajoie next year. Disappointed by Coghlan. The one thing I think the Canes failed to do was find scoring. The one trade they should have made was for Nino. Nino knows our system, knows our players, and would have been more of an offensive threat. I think we missed out there. At any rate, hindsight is 20/20 and so far the Canes have been able to plug our farm guys in and have played well. I hope it continues!! #LFG!!!!

Fasty and Martinook bringing the energy and the guys seem to be feeding off of it. The Devils are out of rhythm for sure, the Rags series had to take a lot out of them.

I am sure he is, or maybe he just watched the first 2 periods and turned it off. That's what I would have done. I believe that I can be a jinx sometimes.

Devils aren't toast, they say a series doesn't begin until the home team has lost at home. Barring a major meltdown we have protected our house, now the Devils will need to do the same. I take nothing for granted, but I am really happy to see the guys playing lights out.
