  1. Per Mike Kaye, Charlotte Observer ▪ Impending free agents: If this beat writer was in Brady Christensen’s shoes, I’d look to head elsewhere for better pay and a guaranteed starting job. But if he can’t and that opportunity, the Panthers getting him back would be a huge boost for the ofensive line. Otherwise, the rest of the re-signing options are pretty much toss-ups. Long snapper JJ Jansen and punter Johnny Hekker have value beyond their job titles. Cornerback Mike Jackson, tight end Tommy Tremble and wide receiver David Moore really t in well with the culture, and all three played well in pretty big spots this season. Andy Dalton wants to return, and with Bryce Young in the QB1 seat, keeping that room together makes sense. Feleipe Franks and Sam Franklin are logical targets for re-signing because of their value on special teams. Re-signing Austin Corbett and Cade Mays to compete at center is a logical, costeective strategy that seems to align with the way the Panthers will approach their already expensive trench group
  2. So now you all love him now!? Damn hypocrites
  3. ESPN’s Adam Schefter carefully broke down what is ultimately a brilliant “procedural move” by the Ravens. Johnson is not eligible to play in this post-season and will not be “awarded” to the Ravens until after the Super Bowl. Schefter notes Johnson “qualifies as an unrestricted free agent this offseason and, if he signs with another team, he factors into Baltimore’s compensatory pick formula, potentially helping it obtain an additional draft pick in 2026.” Schefter adds that Johnson “likely won’t step foot back into the Ravens’ facility. But he now can help Baltimore in the off-season.”

  5. The Athletic’s Joe Person reports an anonymous Panthers source said Bryce Young’s footwork at the end of the 2024 season was “light years” ahead of where it was at the start of the year. Panthers coaches worked primarily on Young’s footwork and drop backs while he ran the scout team after being benched in late September for Andy Dalton. For more than a month, Carolina coaches helped “to refine Young’s footwork and drill into him the importance of urgency in the huddle and pre-snap operation, which Dalton helped demonstrate.” Coaches addressed Young’s habit of jump-passing, which had proved disastrous over the first two games of the season. The result was a far more confident second-year quarterback who showed immense improvement over the final seven games of the 2024 season. Only six quarterbacks had a higher completion rate over expected than Young From Week 11-18. He ended the year with a 251-yard, three-touchdown outing against the Falcons in an upset victory for Carolina. Young, against many odds, has positioned himself as the Panthers’ clear Week 1 starter in 2025.

  16. It’s very encouraging that most of Dan Morgan/Brandt Tills transactions so far, have had positive results. - UFA (Clowney, Wonnum, Jewell, A’Shawn Robinson, David Moore, o-line signings) - TRADES (Michael Jackson for LB Barrett was a stroke of genius, 4th rounder for Jonathan Mingo was brilliant)
