  1. Ibe will be cut before practice is over. Rhule cut Elie Apple mid practice last year.
  2. I think he knows that. Notice whenever he is applying these criticisms to anything he always uses "we" We didn't get it done. we need to improve
  3. Thats true, but we have seen Little and Scott in pads plenty, and its awful. There is also a lot of film on Erving at LT, and it is pretty bad too.
  4. I have yet to see Terrace Marshall body catch anything. Dude is all hands.
  5. What realistically do you think will happen with the OL? What will the starting unit look like week one? Are the Panthers at all likely to pick up for trade for an almost adequate LT?
  6. "he ran 7 yards when he was supposed to run 5 and sit" or something like that. This is stuff the media never considers. It is automatically "high throw by Darnold" or whatever. Who the hell really knows other than the coaches and the players.
  7. A bit of both I think. We have had some really bad offensive days over the years.
  8. Also, when Rhule said guys are running the wrong routes and tipping balls to defenders, he is talking about Ian Thomas.
  9. Probably so, but both Dj and Robby are very good veteran players. If this was 2015, Terrace would probably been Cam's #1 target lol
  10. Today will be the first practice in pads, confirmed by Rhule yesterday. However, practice may or may not happen at 8:30 due to weather. If there is lightning they will delay until it is over with. Please use this thread for all things training camp related today.
  11. Matt Rhule - "This game is so simple, you get it done or you don't" I really like that. Reporters were asking Rhule why the Panthers offense looked so bad yesterday and Rhule wasn't having any of it. He said he really didn't care to sit around and think about why it did, because it is irrelevant. Their job is to come out an execute no matter what gets thrown at them. Other items of interest from his presser - Mentions Jaycee holds way too much. - He thinks Trenton Cannon is a premiere gunner in the NFL. Special teams ace. (Go ahead and put him on your mock rosters) - Happy with Jermaine Carter so far. Carter has gained almost 20 pounds since last year. - Robby and DJ are the primary wideouts. Will add Terrace in the red zone. - Rhule calls Jeremy Chinn "Chinny" Here is his full presser. (middle of video)
  12. A rookie with 3 picks in 5 days is worthy of praise. Not sure I have ever seen that before.
  13. Off topic but I love me some now and laters. Although, those suckers will pull your fillings right out of your teeth.
  14. It is usually safe to assume Ian Thomas made a mistake.
  15. I don't think cut, but he probably won't be starting.
  16. Tremble looked really good today. Caught some nice passes. Christensen is still a backup RT
  17. I am hoping he just doesn't know the playbook well enough yet and is slow on his progressions. If so, that will get itself worked out with reps.
  18. Hello and welcome to my thoughts and musings on today's practice. I thought today would be a padded practice, as historically it is. But apparently Matt Rhule felt differently. I was told that it was possible that Rhule doesn't want padded practices immediately after days off. He would rather ease the guys into it for better recovery after. Duly noted. Taylor Moton took all of his reps at right tackle as far as I can tell. Cam Erving took all his reps at left tackle. Once combo I think that has potential is Erving at LT and Dennis Daley LG. Daley has the size and athleticism to be a top notch guard in this league ( IF HE CAN STAY HEALTHY ). Sam Darnold has a long way to go in this offense before he will be very effective. Today, Darnold held on to the bar far too long. Even though they were not in pads, it was easy to see how many sacks or broken plays would have resulted. Holding on to the ball for 4+ seconds ain't it. The ball must come out quickler. Christian McCaffrey looks as fast as he ever has, which is great news considering his injury issues last season. McCaffrey can still shake any defender 1 on 1 with ease. There haven't been that many plays for him ran, but I think that is a good thing. Let Sam improve with the other guys, CMC plays are effective from the get go because of who he is. At the start of practice Matt Rhule gave the entire team the longest ass chewing I have ever witnessed in my many years doing this. It was spectacular. Apparently he is not happy with the effort in general, or he just wanted to set the tone for the week. Break them down, then slowly build them back up. Works with the ladies too. I spotted Brady Christensen at right tackle with the second string today. I have yet to see him on the left at all. I like Jermaine Carter at middle linebacker, and I think he will be ok there. At least, he will be much better than Whitehead was. But I do think middle linebacker will be on the wish list of next year's draft. Carter is an average linebacker and in Carolina that just won't do in the middle, not with our history.
