I could get down with this
-
Yep. He needs to be Ricky Proehl
-
I think that’s largely why we got him. Steelers have been trying to deal him for some time. I don’t have a problem with some attitude….not sure we really have the leadership to handle that type guy presently though. But he needs to produce and behave to land his next gig so that likely helps with this rental.
-
Theilen’s YAC ability is just horrific vs the field. It is really going to limit the offense having him live in the slot another year
-

lot of players have trained very hard for that 40 or are track kids. It’s overblown to an extent. Football speed matters more and they aren’t exactly the same things. I mean I follow the Clemson boys pretty well. Lot of studs at WR there. Fastest is random Jacoby Ford. Just track speed. Track kid. Wasn’t a good WR vs all the others
-
It’s not apples to apples. Johnson is in a different tier than Theilen. Johnson played on the outside and Theilen was running the slot often gifted stuff last year
-
Bryce Young is an anomaly at QB. You either have to build your offense to suit him or he is going to bust. Simple as that. And we did literally nothing for him to succeed last year.
-
We need short term and long term help for Bryce Young. Rookies take time to get up and running. I consider this a one year rental. We still need to go draft a kid
-
He is better than Theilen. I like this move. But we still need to draft a WR in the 2nd.
-
I want to just pick where we are. Our roster sucks. There will be guys we reallly could use at the top of the 2nd.
-
“Listen, I’ll move down or trade you Derrick Brown for a 7th rounder” what I assume Fitterer would say
-
It basically worked with Thomas Davis….and they have been fooled by that ever since
-
Just Tepper PR IMO. He did what he wanted at the end. Or literally everyone the PR firm suggested essentially said no thanks behind the scenes.
-
Morgan was part of the crew sending the info up the pipeline to Fitterer and Tepper. I mean, it’s the offseason and Morgan was the hire so the positive spin is what it is. But a lot of what happened in terms of the “fix” has classic bad Tepper written all over it. From Caldwell to Morgan. We should have literally cleaned house. We keep botching that and have part of the mess fixing the mess….again.

the Panthers are basically Saw IX. It's a bad horror script.
-
True but there was always an oddness to Clowney. He got that random high school hype you rarely see in football. I mean, he was basically deemed great before ever being it. Not saying he wasn't good in college. He was. Not sure he was ever a great football player. He just hit the talent lotto early and big.
-
Isaiah Simmons makes me sad. The too often reality of a positionless player. Chinn and Simmons are great talents. I still think dudes like them are worth a shot. High risk but you got to think some coach could figure it out.
-
Clowney still collecting checks to this day for hitting some kid at Michigan
-
this is what we want and Chase ain't got it
-
I mean, wasn't the rumor he was almost benched last year for lack of effort/caring......on a stacked/SB favored team? I mean, he was setup to excel in SF. You can't give him attention on that D. I don't want him. He is just a name that would cash a check.
-
yeah, I mean, 100% I think Evero has now officially found himself in a bad spot. He is on the cusp of getting a HC gig.....and he likely is going to take a big hit back this year. I mean, if you remove yourself from being a Panther fan you most would have to think Evero is setup for doom at this stage in 2024. And he isn't going to walk into a HC gig after that.
-
well, when they refused two first round picks and then some for him.....they essentially then conceded they viewed him as someone worthy of top tier DE money. Because if not, you take the picks the moment that absurd offer was made for him. I mean, that's when they botched it. You can't have it every which way. Refusing the picks means they had to overpay him. They opted to just botch it all.
-
I mean, that's a technicality IMO. No new HC or team is going to retain an inherited coordinator into a new era who doesn't want to be there. I mean, even look at how Canales talked about having Evero stay. That was a W for him/the Panthers. I'm just not buynig a coordinator on the cusp of a HC gig.....was like yeah, losing all the defensive talent on the roster paired w/ bad O is a great idea for me and my future stock/goals. Sometimes, I just look at it from a the most common sense stand point and go from there. and again, I largely make my assumptions around what the Panthers have proven to be. A very very very poorly run sports organization. I think too many tend to give them the benefit of the doubt across the board. This place stinks. And when odd things go down....I don't give them the benefit of assuming they are well run and have good plans in place.

yeah, the longest-tenured Panthers beat writer reported on who did and didn't want to do it. Fitterer and Morgan didn't want to trade him to the Rams. Samir did. So I'll go with that as the best version of the situation. Better odds of being true than anything else.
