  1. Backup QBs have a limited amount of oxygen they can take up…..that’s now his biggest issue at this part of the draft. And now it’s out of his control. he is young, but it’s the issue old The Golden Calf of Bristol and old Cam faced. They couldn’t do the backup things despite actually being willing….teams don’t to do deal with the media, questions and distractions. The Sanders family basically have made themselves a reality TV/internet show. This is the cost of that given he wasn’t actual #1 caliber QB talent. No coach or team wants to manage it. Teams need the fall to knock the wind out do that sail I guess
  2. Sanders basically has to go somewhere in the next 5 picks
  3. a sad societal shift. Athletes, politicians, etc. have learned the people don’t actually care enough and now everyone just keeps on keeping on
  4. ….if you are Sanders. would you still use this room when you finally get drafted? Got to think, in a way, it probably highlights/represents some reasons he isn’t getting drafted.
  5. So you hire a QB guru....he proves to be that....and fire him because your GM(and DC) who both predate you from the Frank era can't get the D right?
  6. my preference is to attach them. I view the Morgan "hire" as muddy. I think Morgan and a lot of his team's real timeline predates Canales. I think if Canales really got a lot out of Bryce Young this year.....and still won about 5 games because of defense......it would be a tough call of what to do.
  7. I really don't think Dan does. Dan and his team are frankly, a continuation of Fitterer in some aspects. They own parts/aspects of what happened dating back farther than the last 2 years and don't have the same real start line of Dave. It's weirder for them. Plus, Tepper to date has sort of had GM/HCs that aren't really attached. Dave IMO could probably survive off just a highly productive season from Bryce. If he started to really get some good output from the passing game and we lose off bad defense.
  8. hey, I still haven't been wrong about them drafting a Gamecock! That was my first prediction this week therefore it must be the best and one that should carry the most weight showing my prediction brilliance! They will draft a Gamecock. Burch counts. I'm going to count the UDFAs as well as they were in the draft in theory. Also I am in including kids that played them or watched a game. Or ate chicken. If I hit on that, please note that as well. Can't just pay attention to the Ls.
  9. they never met w/ Green at any level to my knowledge. I assume that means he wouldn't even be considered. Think to draft a dude w/ red flags relatively high they would have met w/ him.
  10. Let's take Shilo too in the 7th. Have a Sanders package with both in at S
  11. well, it's the Browns pick 2nd, 2nd rounder... I would assume in the deal you figure out largely what they are/aren't doing w/ their first pick before you trade. That leaves 2 teams ahead of you. So you just need to figure out what one of them will or won't do. Then you are guaranteed one of your two guys. It's the Panthers. They will move up and do whatever. They will say they had a first round grade on them. Like the S. Call it a steal. Half the board cheers. Half cries.
  12. yeah, that's a bad question. Just ask him his strengths.
  13. I am going to redeem myself after being so wrong about the first pick. If they are going to trade up to pick 36. They draft either Emmanwori or Ezereiruaka (both top 30 visits)
  14. we are in the forever rebuild that isn't a rebuild. They have been clear on that.
  15. Heck, call up the boys in Buffalo and get Curtis Samuel back for the cheap to be the slot. Buffalo brought him in there but then Shakir blew up in the slot. Josh Allen got a legit bomb thrower for an arm.....yet you see Buffalo prioritizing that slot action. Not sure why there is this weird quiet movement to stay away from that like it's insulting to Bryce Young.
  16. You can keep talking about that cherry picked stat line. Bryce Young in his entire football career.....has never been a deep ball guy. Sure, everyone needs that in their game. He does too. That's not why we drafted him. We don't need to try to wish him into a downfield passer. We don't need to build an O that doesn't play to his strengths. You know what weren't the best at? Well below the league average in what we got out of the backfield. Well below the league average in YAC. That's easy yards. Those moves the chains. And Bryce getting the ball out quickly to playmakers is literally why we drafted him......and we immediately traded away those guys right before we drafted him and given him none.
  17. need a quick Y working the slot more than anything. You don't need first round picks on those guys. Not saying I want to go draft one tonight. But Bryce needs a youngster to build chemistry with. AT is the dude in need of replacement. Bryce IMO is always going to lean to that area of the field. .
  18. yeah, we don't really need a legit deep ball haymaker guy. But we need the other aspect of Ted's game. A dude he can take a nothing pass at the line of scrimmage or a simple hitch or crosser to the house. Curtis Samuel would be another example when we had him in the slot w/ Teddy. We still lack the diversity you want to see in a pass attack. XL, Tmac, Coker and Saunders are our 4 investments right now and they are way too similar.
  19. I keep banging the Jordan Burch drum so probably safe to rule him out at this point.
  20. how funny would it be if Deion's prized possessions ended up in Jacksonville and Carolina after all his talk of what he wouldn't allow to happen to them?
  21. Going in, I was holding on hope that would be my realistic dream outcome. They would go all D but snag Noel. He projects well into that slot/YAC role. I mean, I wanted Warren but knew that had 0% chance of happening. I thought the Noel thing had a legit shot since they brought him in for that top 30 (and assumed Tmac was largely due in a diligence in a trade down) but yeah, they have to go defensive front in the 2nd now I think.
  22. XL made a TON of sense.....because he fit what Canales did in Tampa and Seattle. And we drafted XL when most folks that Bryce Young era was likely about to end. Nothing nonsensical about acknowledging what Canales has always been about/around (and how his draft picks fit that)......and how Bryce Young at no point in time when we drafted him was billed for fitting such an offense. It was all PG quick distributor talk. Which meant YAC players around him and getting the ball out with his super brain. XL and Tmac struggle getting open quickly. They are more suited for a chunk play team that is playing off the run and sets up for WR to have time to get open downfield (which is the Canales tree). Which is what Canales is basically drafting. Square peg/round hole. It's not nonsense. It's the Tepper era.
  23. yeah, that's my point. His friends gave it to him. He didn't pick it. We aren't his friends. He will be a football player for the Carolina Panthers. NFL fans likely will appoint him a nickname at some point or maybe they won't. Nicknames are just weird things. Some dude was called freaking Cornbread in college. No one called him that here to my knowledge.
