  1. it's probably on the ultimate premium tier at your local cable company w/ VH1
  2. comedy doesn't really work well in 2025. Sadly.
  3. to clarify, I wasn't complimenting the last kicker. I'm saying, making kicks in practice or even in games at a high rate......isn't how you define kickers. Our last guy is one of best technically. But he wasn't. Because when he missed mattered more than his makes. So who knows if we got a good one on our roster yet. That's my only point. He could go 50/50 at camp. You only know when they get asked about those pressure/game winning kicks.
  4. who the best beat writers to follow these days? I feel my twitter follows are outdated at this point and most have moved on.
  5. you really don't know what you have in a kicker until they are put in pressure moments. I mean, we are celebrating the fact one of the most "accurate" kickers in NFL history is finally gone. I guess we will see what this kid has this season.
  6. 4th best WR all time.....is probably a title held by Ted Ginn Jr. And tells the story of the Carolina Panthers habitual issue.
  7. that ain't no encyclopedia salesman
  8. AT is a below average starter at this point with above average targets in an offense.
  9. Post benching his completion % and yardage were both below league average on the year. Now his TD to INT ratio wasn’t…..but given we were still a low productive pass O (yardage, conversions etc) I don’t see how that alone jumps him
  10. both had a common theme though (loudly discussed here going into both seasons), unusually light work going into both seasons given what he was..... again, Mahomes, Allen, etc were getting more preseason reps than Young. I hope Canales plays him a lot in this preseason. 3 good NFL games vs the rest of his resume shouldn't put him in the light work tier he has been going into prior seasons with
  11. sure, but in reality, it was just a don't do anything to screw this up game. Backup QB caliber gameplan and ideal execution of that script. Which is great. You need that. You often need that a lot in games. But that's all that game was. post benching, we were still a bottom tier pass attack and Bryce had below average production as a NFL QB post benching overall. What he did have was one of the most glaring improvements from one year to the other we have seen. The top 10ish stuff is just where I start calling the over the top stuff what I think it is. It's a unique PFF argument. Not an argument that is supported by PFF
  12. sure, I mean, rental win now guys are good. but what we needed to be doing, was developing and trying to find a young DB to play across Horn. Because we weren't a win now team.
  13. this is still a David Tepper team. Which means, we are always yet never rebuilding. It's like signing Gilmore a couple years back. We need to be developing players, not renting win now guys when we aren't a win now team.
  14. the Jaguars are basically the Panthers. Bad D. Inconsistent O. But I think they are a more threatening O.
  15. Bryce Young has pretty much been the definition of a slower starter going into every season. I frankly don't like the fact the "easy" games are upfront. plus, the flip side is the Jags are talking about us just like we are them. And I think they have more proven explosive offensive players. I think at best, it's a coin flip opener. Jags probably will be favored by Vegas.
  16. I’d say firing Rhule in season with the #1 overall in clear sight…..and then dumping CMC for peanuts was an in season tank move by the FO to secure the #1 overall pick…..and it failed (because the HC and players aren’t involved in that mindset)
  17. Vastly different things at play here https://x.com/panthers/status/1927478311468331310?s=12 vs https://x.com/receiverschool/status/1925146532061323647?s=12 and its why Renfrow is going to make this roster. Renfrow is a master route runner (specifically concepts in the slot) and has to milk every aspect of the game within the game given his disadvantages. But even here on the outside, he could teach Horn, XL, TMac. Because running that route like Hunter did would be much more impactful for the youngsters given the over the top threat they pose.
  18. Young had way too light of a preseason schedule given where he is as a QB last year. Canales needs to play Young a lot going into this year. Holding Bryce out has gone very poorly leading into both his seasons. Young got less work going in than legit proven studs did. He needs to have the workload of someone that has had maybe 3 good NFL games and the rest meh or horrible.
  19. combo of scheme, playcalling and how you stress a defense IMO. Obviously, there is a talent aspect but I put the greater burden on Canales given how non-existent it was.
  20. deep diving into the fact YAC is non-existent in this offense is just mind-blowing. They got to solve that if they hope to get this pass game out of the NFL gutter. and, I think that largely falls on Canales.
  21. I mean, we need to improve everywhere. Short, mid, deep. We get below average results/production from our short game. We get zero YAC from the O overall. Too many off target throws. It's like the entire O is just a bunch of TEs where the play ends at the completion. I think some of that is the chunk ball O of Canales paired w/ a QB that should be in a scheme that is YAC scheme emphasized.
  22. "Starting in Week 5, Young was fourth in completion percentage over expectation (NFL Next Gen Stats) but 31st in off-target rate. That means he was connecting with his receivers on high-leverage throws deep downfield, which is explosive but also unsustainable. Confidence is high, though, and he has earned the right to build on his improvement." Basically, what Young was doing down the stretch last year may not be something he will be able to maintain for the long haul, much like a major-league hitter posting a high batting average courtesy of an inflated BABIP. Overall, Young threw for 2,403 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 60.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 82.2 in 2024, which was certainly a significant step up from where he was durign his rookie campaign. Insider exposes Panthers QB Bryce Young may have been too lucky last season It took one second of googling to find an article posted just yesterday....to find someone largely thinking the same thing. But I get it, it's that time of year. I just don't feel the need to do what you are doing here given I am devoting and saving up MY energy to drastically oversell Hunter Renfrow.
