  1. also, if you look at the depth he often got to play with behind that stud OL.....it helped him see. A NFL pocket is just different.
  2. this is the NFL, David Tepper just ended the Bryce Young chapter in Carolina. Dan Morgan/Tepper hold the keys to his career. Where they trade him to will matter if you are a Bryce fan (maybe there is one here somewhere)
  3. Bryce is a unicorn. A unicorn O is the only thing that would work. to me, Dan Morgan really was putting together the foundation for a 2003 John Fox football team. Canales fits that in reality. Run the ball, chuck it deep downfield. Bryce Young can't do that lol
  4. yeah, massive OGs that Bryce can't sit behind and throw.....isn't going to work. The ONLY possible O for Bryce Young is a Bryce Young creation. He can't sit in a NFL pocket because he can't see. It has to be quick small ball and moving him consistently out of the pocket.
  5. Bad marriages. That's the Tepper way. It's that way every season. He puts things together that don't fit. It happens, because David Tepper runs the show.
  6. In no sane world....does a downfield chunk pass offense play to Bryce Young's strengths. All of his offenses he has been around, from Tampa to Seattle have lead the league in deep shot attempts (often #1 in the league). That was broken down time and time again. It's the whole bad marriages thing. How would that play to Bryce Young's strengths? Now did some fans choose to run with the entering the season BS Panther propaganda and run with it? Sure. The catering to Bryce bolonga? Canales' O have always been consistent. And Bryce is as bad of a fit for THAT as it gets.
  7. it's the worst start in franchise history. Frank was actually in games. Canales hasn't been in a game going into the half. Heck, Canales hasn't been in a game going into the 2nd quarter.
  8. I mean, I think it actually plays better from a PR perspective if the HC said... look, clearly we haven't setup Bryce up well for success organizationally. 3 HCs, 3 playcallers, 3 Os, new folks at every spot as the norm around him. ......so we are going to hit the reset button a little and give him a break to take in this new O and all that entails. No time table on how long that is but we want to setup him up to be successful long term. Then you can just quietly go about trading him and starting over. I think that plays much different. Instead, they just look reactionary and more importantly, visionless and planless.
  9. yeah, lot of folks sort getting cover here.....because Bryce is bad. Collectively the fanbase right now is willing to overlook the obvious bad going into this season. We are worse now than the Frank Reich era (despite much better foundational talent on O).....because of this present day staff. So much for the legendary advisor Jim Caldwell lol.
  10. because Frank Reich went to the bad QB management playbook and used that play week 2 last year. and it's not a timeout. it's the end of that era pending something drastically doesn't force their hand.
  11. it was always obvious Bryce Young was going to greatly struggling in the type O Canales was going to want to run. The looks and throws run against what Bryce Young is. Talked about ever since the pairing was made. I know I talked about it non-stop. Bad marriages. So that's why benching Bryce does nothing really to change the trajectory. We don't have good people in charge. Will be maybe get better QB from Dalton in Canales O? Sure. But we are further behind than ever before at the QB spot....than we have in the Tepper era. I keep saying it over and over. The Tepper Era really is defined by a desperate idiot at BOA that botches the QB thing over and over and over. And it is without question, he brings out the worst possible outcome for any QB. Andy Dalton is likely not about to have a good time. Maybe a good debut as new and different helps most people initially. So I am prepared for a insane overreaction to Sunday.
  12. listening really carefully.....I think Canales watched the tape and was like OMG this is rough stuff (hence his I had a thought verbage). He then went into his weekly meeting and Tepper told him the Bryce show is over. That forced Canales to go talk to his team about what the new plan now was. because if it was Canales decision, his presser after the game would have been different. Hedged his bet. He didn't need to study the tape to know how horrific that was. Canales by all his talk, surely looked prepared for a long and slow and often ugly progression. He talked about a lot going into this year. And all his players were singing the same song post game. And based on how he answered questions Monday morning after the benching....it seems clear it was Monday morning meeting move by Tepper. Because if it was his call.....it would have been the easiest thing in the world to just say Tepper supported his decision. Which he was unable to say. And reporters did a good enough job sort of forcing him to show the decision hand by his non-answers IMO. and I am 100% cool w/ benching Bryce. They should of built their roster for the likely benching. If you were going to be willing to pull the plug after a 2 game bad start.....then the QB room should of always looked different. Added talent and competition. Jordan Love just went down. They ain't playing Vinny Testaverde.
  13. Trey Lance went for a 4th I think. Got to think that would be the goal area.
  14. sure, it's just a great setup in a vacuum. but as he entered his 17th game of his career....it was still has 3rd HC, 3rd playcaller, 3rd O, who could count what # of OL setup it was....and his HC didn't give him any real time to work on things in the preseason under live fire. It wasn't a great setup in reality for Bryce because all those things before the week 1 game factor. We shouldn't of drafted Young. But we did ensure we got the worst version of whatever he was going to be. And that's a worry going forward, about the brainiacs in charge. Their entire plan going into the Canales era was an utter joke.....and it was still utter joke even if they felt they would move on from him quickly. Because they didn't setup and prep for that being a legit possibility.
  15. First we will trade Derrick Brown to secure the draft capital to acquire DJU why would we need draft capital to do that? I don’t question these things anymore. They just are what they are.
  16. I have finally become one with the crazy mind of David Tepper. Ask yourself this question, what is the worst possible outcome? Then you will see the light and inside the mind of a wealthy idiot
  17. What’s the most Pantherish thing that could happen? Dalton tweaks something. Canales forced to play the QB he benched. I mean, it’s our destiny.
  18. Yep. Bryce can be bad….AND at the exact same time, we can be soul sucking nightmare. That makes everyone and thing worse.
  19. given how new everything was? I think what would add up to nearly a full games worth of reps?? Probably would alter how they could of came into the season. Mahomes played what? basically 3 quarters this preseason? and he didn't use the last game. They needed the work. It was always obvious. With literally every aspect of everything being some new version of new......that's on Canales. But he and his OC are brand spanking new. They got their own growing pains to figure out. Preparing a new team clearly one of them. But it was all bad marriages coming in. Been saying that for months. What happened could be seen coming.
  20. Netflix followed by watching preseason games from the sideline
  21. I don't know, maybe we wouldn't be getting the doors blown off as badly....if the HC actually used the preseason the way it should of been used given we knew we had a bad QB, new O scheme, new OL, new WRs, new OC, and playcaller all coming together. I'm not sure it's a completely separate issue.....we are poorly run org. I would imagine that has something to do with why he looks worse.
  22. Canales' team have gotten their teeth kicked in and he has better talent than Frank Reich did. Both had to deal with Bryce. Canales' handling and management of things still is part of why the mess is as bad as it has been. I mean, we are making Frank Reich look good. I'm 100% in the show me stage with all things Panthers. Until then, it's just new names.
  23. WRs being open vs a meh Chargers team....doesn't mean Tepper isn't being Tepper, doesn't mean Morgan didn't help get us here, or that Canales hasn't done a poor job entering the season w/ this team. why did we hire Canales? the only team that was interested in doing such. He failed that about as bad as you possibly could. So bad it made Frank look a little more competent in that aspect despite Canales having much better pieces. The degree to which Bryce sucked to open up this season....you can't separate Canales from that.
  24. Tepper not holding pressers and being aware of the PR of things isn't him staying out of things. He just benched Bryce. There is no indication he has taken a step back. Where was Canales Monday morning after the Saints game? Same place Frank Reich found himself. Dan has already devoted considerable time helping get us into this whole mess. Canales is just a podium polished and better looking version of Matt Rhule. He already looks like he is in over his head here.
