Went from Cam and Luke to this......unbelievable
BlazeCarolina replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel like I have amnesia. I don't remember it being THIS bad. We knew this was possible. We talked about it being sink or sim for Bryce. Now that he isn't struggling, the sky is falling? There weren't many Panthers today who DIDN'T struggle. -

It is unbelievable to me how negative this place is right now. Might be time to take a vacation. -
Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining.

There is a reason Clowney has been on so many teams. -
Says the dude dressed as an actual clown. I am talking the view of the player's potential at draft. Dan can't see the future. Go be negative somewhere else. The discussion was about his drafting ability, and I was trying to illustrate the point that you can't judge his picks with hindsight.
-
People aren't excited about guys like Ransom and Jimmy Horn Jr? Etienne already looks solid to me too. I feel like previous drafts weren't getting this type of review. For example, Zavala was getting hate year 1 if I recall correctly. We seem more optimistic about Dan's picks from what I have seen at least.
-
The problem is, you view this in hindsight. I remember people being pretty stoked about this year's draft. Dan can't see the future. The draft is a roll of the dice. I think his picks have been more hit than miss so far. I can't remember the last time we were excited about UDFA's like this either. Norwell maybe? That's a long time.

The consistent high snaps were definitely odd. That is not on Bryce.

I feel like the fan base is being overly critical right now because of how poorly we played. People were touting Dan's ability to find gems recently. XL isn't working out, but TMac and Coker looking good. He also dealt Thielen for more than a lot of people expected given the circumstances, and utilized an extra roster spot by having a side deal worked with Refrow apparently. He has done better than I expected given he was the right hand of the last regime and had that failing pizza place lol
-
TMac is very exciting. Crazy to think that was his first game. He has some insane hands.

I tried to think back and find a pick I was wrong on. Best I could come up with was I was high on Ereck Flowers in 2015. I wanted Dalvin Cook as our RB choice in 2017, but in my defense, I wasn't using a first on him. CMC ended up being on of my favorite players ever and I regret not looking more his way in the draft process.
-
You could be right. I am just not ready to give up on Bryce given the circumstances. I was hoping we would pickup someone with more potential to be QB3. Hooker wasn't on my list, but I will root for him just like I would anyone else wearing a Panther's jersey.

I don't think there is one brother. Most of my Panthers chat is with a buddy of mine who doesn't post here. I don't care if you believe me. I only watch Panthers ball, so I don't even know how he is doing. I just assume he is doing better than Young. Not like I haven't been wrong about a pick before.
-
His grandfather said that and he responded saying he hasn't ruled it out.
-
Were you impressed with our play calling today? I think there is plenty of blame to spread around. Only guys I wouldn't blame right off the top of my head are Chuba, Fitz, and TMac.
-
I have no reason to lie about it. Believe whatever you want. I don't think he is doing great either. Only reason I brought it up was to dispel the idea I am a Bryce hugger. I absolutely hated it when Teddy was here, but I still supported him, because he was the guy. I am a Panthers fan. It is in my best interest for whoever is in the driver's seat to win.
-
All the more reason he isn't going anywhere.
-
I have more hope for the future with Bryce than I do with Dalton. If they are both going to be trash, I would rather risk it with Bryce. Dalton is done soon either way.
-
Tepper is going to be here for a long time. He will keep throwing money at it until he hits. I fear the reason he doesn't completely clean house all at once is because he has to have a football guy to ask, and the plague just continues.
-
I would rather him get more time to solidify his trash crown. We have seen plenty of QBs leave here and miraculously get better. I want no questions. What do you do right now if you bench him? Run Dalton? You think he is going to make it 15 games? I don't want mediocre again. I'd rather suffer the stank and reset next year at QB.
-
That is a legit concern. I still don't think you can bench him after one game. Everyone is overreacting right now. For the record, I wanted Stroud. I started watching film with him, and was so convinced he was the pick with Reich at the helm that I didn't even evaluate anyone else. I felt like I was going crazy as the draft approached and it seemed like Young could possibly be the pick. He's the guy now, though.
-
There is nothing to be done about it right now, even if you are right. He was the choice. This is the plan. Sink or swim.
-
I don't think we panic this year. If you guys really are this convinced he is trash, this is actually a GOOD thing. He will continue to burn and we will replace him with out inevitable high 1st round pick. The worst thing he can do is continue to be mediocre and give Tepper hope.
-
I said he did not look good. I agree with you here. It's just not time to panic. This, albeit not a good start, is part of the plan. We run this into the dirt, no matter what it is. This is the year we answer the question.
-
I would love to see you running drills and chucking the rock Uncle Rico. Give us all a laugh on YouTube brother.
-
We run, run, pass. I don't think his physical traits are the issue.
