  1. From the "Good News, Bad News" department: Tuesday will give players a tour of Allianz Arena, home of November's game, before hosting an event at Pizza Hut.
  2. Patriots coach Bill Belichick is dating former cheerleader Jordon Hudson, according to reports. Hudson is 24 years old, and Belichick is 72 years old.
  3. playing for the falcons is almost the same thing. Purgatory, at least
  4. Not as big a slap as we'd hope. The NFL has officially disciplined the Falcons for tampering with free agents this offseason, including quarterback Kirk Cousins. According to a news release from the NFL, the team had improper contact with Cousins, wide receiver Darnell Mooney and tight end Charlie Woerner during the two-day negotiating period prior to the start of the 2024 League Year. The team will forfeit its fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and pay a fine of $250,000, while General Manager Terry Fontenot will pay a $50,000 fine. https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/falcons-disciplined-tampering-with-3-free-agents/6HMPHBZFIFBEXEUZNEVDABSSVA/
  5. Even independent living in a retirement community can run $3-6k/month or more. And some communities have huge entry fees ($100k+ up front) that they hold until the tenant leaves
  6. likely an unpopular opinion: nobody should *rely* on SS to cover their expenses in retirement. If you plan for retirement in a manner that does not take SS into account, then you can treat any SS money you get as an add't bonus entry =-= Practical SS advice: the longer you can hold off before collecting SS, the higher the monthly SS payment amount will be. (In other words, don't start collecting at 62 if you can afford not to)
  7. One economist says you can retire on just $50,000-$100,000 in total savings, citing experience of actual retirees as evidence 85% of retirement-age Americans (65 to 74) said they were "living comfortably, or at least doing OK" when asked how well they were doing financially Only 15% said they were struggling. The finding matters, Biggs says, because most retirees have much less than $1 million in the bank. In the federal survey, the typical senior who reported a satisfactory retirement had $50,000 to $100,000 in savings. “It’s impossible to find any evidence that seniors need even a fraction of $1.46 million in savings to be financially secure,” Biggs wrote. By his argument, retirees don’t need nearly so much savings as financial planners say they do. source: https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2024/06/07/retire-without-a-million-dollars/73969717007/
  8. Comparing Canales to Reich --- Dave seems happy/pumped to be doing what he's doing (and Dan, too). The player interactions that were shown may be isolated, but it appears that the team is buying into the positive outlook that Dave projects Definitely a better attitude vs Frank, who seemed to be going through the motions - and whats-his-name who was over his head and trying to not get exposed
  9. 2.8 seconds as a goal? what was the release timing last year?
  10. Coke is still the top soda in America. But the runner up spot, long held by Pepsi, now belongs to Dr Pepper. After years of slowly gaining market share, Dr Pepper inched ahead of Pepsi as the number two soda brand in the country in 2023, according to market share data from Beverage Digest, a trade publication Coke: 19.2% Dr Pepper: 8.3% Pepsi: 8.3% (lower than Dr Pepper when carried out to more decimal places) Sprite: 8.1% Diet Coke: 7.8% https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/03/business/dr-pepper-pepsi/index.html

  16. They don't say the timeline. The jags redo is a... uh.. four year project?
  17. The one thing Tepper should copy from the Falxons is Blanks insistence on having affordable food/bev as an option. You want a bucket of popcorn? $2 Small bottle of water? $1 Cheap crap beer? $5 Nachos? $3 (We'll make enough $ from those who want the good stuff that the few cheap prices won't hurt the bottom line)
  18. Looks nice. Combo of the outside of Allegient with some nice outdoor viewable spaces. Prob some PSL owners going to lose their seats if they have to tear some out for some of that work
  19. The NFL is about to increase the use of technology in its officiating. The league is close to using an electronic system for measuring first downs and will expand the use of instant replay as an officiating tool in 2024. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2024/06/02/nfl-electronic-first-downs-replay-assist/
  20. also consider improving portion sizing. A good food scale seems like a silly purchase, but it's a handy tool to have for various things (baking! portioning for freezer! burger patty making!) Instead of everyone at the table getting a 12-16oz steak, the average home meal should really be about 4-6oz of red meat per plate. So split that steak in half for double the meals.
  21. If you have an irrigation sprinkler system at the house or are contemplating putting one in: tie it into a separate water meter instead of the primary water line to the house. The primary water line will bill you for both water and sewer, while the irrigation-only meter will bill you for only water usage. Cutting out the sewer portion of the bill when you're only doing outdoor watering will save you money in the long run
