  1. Trai was a bum when he was here... he strictly got reputation off of name-recognition and from his stature coming out of college. To be as big and as talented as he was/is, he was one of the main guys letting Cam get beat up on all those years. That being said, he is better than Reed, but thats a really low bar. If he wants to come back on a dirt cheap deal and see how he does, that's up to him, but he isn't changing much.
  2. If we don't get Watson before the draft... I feel we absolutely will have to move up to get Lance.
  3. Get Watson, sign Reiff, pickup a guard, find a way to bring Samuel back, then go defense heavy in the draft again and we are a Superbowl contender.
  4. Taking the Fitterer quote about bargain shopping and the CMC/Shaq restructures in tandem, I will be surprised if we DON'T land Watson at this point. We clearly have been making moves to clear up space and in preparation of something that's more than just signing guys off the trash heap in the 4th wave of FAs. There is something else going on... and I wasn't sure we could get him before, but I'm fairly certain Watson is coming here now. Edit: Now, idk if those restructures were just for cap space or were prepping them to be more palatable for Houston to be dealt...
  5. Looks like he's in great shape, but Luke has definitely trimmed down a lot.
  6. Yeah, but that's my point... and they're even higher odds for a guy with limited athleticism and questionable arm strength coming from a system where he was surrounded by the absolute best athletes and players in the country that could mask his deficiencies.
  7. And that's the thing... even Sherman is saying guys like Brees and Brady as best-possible outcomes... problem is, those guys are outliers, and I don't mean just in terms of their ability to excel as less than superior athletes. I'm saying they are guys, who regardless of style of play, are among the best to EVER play, and not only overcame odds to make it to the NFL, but then overcame even more odds by defying their shortcomings to not just survive, but thrive. So, are you willing to take a risk on a Mac Jones and hope he overcomes his lack of athleticism and arm strength to become Brees or Brady (but if he doesn't, then he quickly becomes useless because he has nothing to fall back on)? Or would you rather pick a guy who has the athleticism and big arm, thus improving their odds of succeeding by default because they already possess an advantage over guys like Jones? Sure, Jones could become Brees or Brady, but odds are much higher he becomes a Bridgewater or Chase Daniels.
  8. Let the team Sherman ends up on draft him as their starter. Let's see what he thinks then.
  9. You're awesome, as always, Verge. Thanks for sharing the info. So now my question is, was it Hurney's decision to move on from Cam and to Teddy, solely? And if so, did Rhule and Brady just tow the company line publicly? Because of the public love shown for Teddy, I assumed the move was pushed for by Brady/Rhule.
  10. I liked him after seeing him on Panthers Huddle, initially... but, then after Zack said what he did here about how he handled his injury, I was not impressed.
  11. Zeller, Graham, and picks are all I'm willing to offer. PJ if absolutely necessary. Melo, Rozier, Hayward, and Miles are my untouchables.
  12. Not interested at all. He's washed. Wasn't very athletic to begin with and he's now a shell of what he was in his prime.
  13. Hot and heavy as in, with us? Or just in general? I assume in general, because we weren't among the teams he listed that he would accept a trade to. That being said, as far as the Saints go, I don't care anymore... Loomis figured things out, and they are going to be a thorn in our ass for a longtime. Have Wilson as their QB wouldn't be much different from having dealt with Brees all these years. I was hoping for some kind of fall off coinciding with Brees leaving, but I've accepted there likely won't be... I hate to say it, but they are one of the best run front offices in the NFL.
  14. Without reading through the thread, isn't Drummond in our PR department? Meaning he has no influence on personnel?
  15. You definitely buy low and hope you got something. Rhule has also shown a capacity to get guys to "buy in," and maybe thats all he needs. Possibly get him for a late round pick and if it pans out, you have yourself your bookends for the next 10 years between him and Moton. If it doesn't work, you did no worse than the pick you gave up.

  17. Idk why, I thought I read somewhere that he had a really high hit rate a few years back... but, admittedly I haven't kept up with it as much recently.
  18. Very good points. That being said, hasn't Kiper's final mocks been pretty accurate over the years?
  19. Again, the thing that kind of bothers me about this is, I 100% believe in Rhule's ability to develop talent and get the most out of his team. He showed it this season... at every position BUT QB. And that's what scares me. Because he had a say in that decision, and he co-signed handing Teddy the keys and leaving him at the wheel. I really hope he's not blind to the fact that you need some kind of talent at QB and that it can't be cultivated to chicken salad from chicken poo like the other positions on the roster... Teddy should've been enough to show him that. I really hope this projection and increasingly hot connection is a smokescreen and playing off the rumors from the senior bowl and recruiting interest.
  20. Yet, he has Lance going to the Pats at 9. If he has some feel for what we like, and Rhule legit likes Mac over Lance, I will have some serious questions.
