  1. We really just entered the 3Q of the trade negations. Let's hope our first half lead holds up
  2. If the saints can go from being 70+ million over the cap to being able to afford Watson in the matter of a few days, then we need to demand that the NFL launch an investigation to whatever they are doing because there's no way that should be possible.
  3. Let's be honest and put the politics and personal convections aside and let's look at this from just a football perspective. He's almost 35 and hasn't played football in 6 years he'd have a hard time being half the QB Darnold is.
  4. With all the picks we look to be throwing at the Texans I hope that fitter can find some way to include Darnold in the trade. Waston has a $40 million cap hit this year that we can't afford to take on at the moment.
  5. Cam and Willis seem too already have a good relationship and I think Cam knows that his time as a starting QB is almost over, but he can still be a good leader for a team and mentor for a young QB.
  6. If I was forced to sign a QB in free agency I'd much rather have Marcus Mariota than Mitch. Ultimately any sign or trade that isn't for Watson is just a waste of time and resources. Take either the safe option in Pickett or gamble with the upside of Willis in the draft.
  7. I'd rather watch Teddy checkdown on 4th and 8 again than trade assets and pay Kirk 35M a year. Kirk is also on the last year of his deal and with how we reek of desperation for a QB right now you best believe we would get screwed in extension talks.
  8. We are either going to trade the farm for Watson, overpay for a veteran QB, or take Pickett at 6 unless Corral just shoots up the board. Malik has a crazy high ceiling but he's nowhere near ready to start for a team next year. With Malik needing that much development we are going to end up taking Pickett who's more ready to play and has the best chance to save Rhule's job.
  9. I like Carson Strong's arm, but that knee is gonna scare away a lot of teams.
  10. Horn is going to be a top 5 CB in the league he was well worth the selection but drafting a long snapper and taking Marshall in the 2nd when we already had 2 good receivers was awful.
  11. Trade for Watson, restructure and backload a couple contracts to bring in at least two starting caliber Olinemen, bring back either Jackson or Gilmore whoever is cheaper, let Reddick walk as he'll want too much money having him and burns makes us too light upfront to stop heavy running teams, extend DJ moore, and trade back a couple of times to get more draft capital to select an off-ball linebacker, a safety, and some Oline depth. Then walk into phill snow's office and make him put Chinn back at linebacker.
  12. Taking Pickett would trap us in QB purgatory for the next 5 years. He'd be just good enough to not be replaced but he's never going to be elite. Think Alex smith or Joe Flaco. If I'm taking a QB in the top 10 he needs to have the ability to be a super star.
  13. Tepper seeing all these young AFC QB's balling and the guy that reject us in stafford making the Superbowl has got to be gut wrenching for him. We are going to be ringing Houston's phones off the hook like a desperate EX girlfriend trying to get Watson.
  14. I do agree that building around Jimmy is a bad idea but bringing him in to stabilize the QB spot till more attractive options present themselves wouldn't be a bad idea if we can get him for relatively cheap.
  15. Either Sam Howell or Matt Corral for me. Pickett just doesn't have a high enough ceiling and Willis while being the most talented will bust here because he needs so much development as a passer.
  16. That's why he needs to be on the first spirit flight out of charlotte if Harbaugh gets an NFL job.
  17. This is the worst-case scenario because it probably ends with us giving up the 6th pick for Jimmy. Fitter and rhule will try to sell us on the fact "he's played in two Superbowl's".
  18. I'd like to see Matthew Stafford win. He deserves it for all the years he suffered in Detroit.
  19. Everyone knew at the end of 2020 that teddy wasn't the answer, but we were all were too eager to move on from him completely instead of having him stay and be the bridge QB to a rookie. In an alternate universe we could have Teddy with one-year remaining on his contract that we could move on from with very little cap hit and a rookie Justin Fields who would've shown flashes with his athleticism in his playing time and an entire draft of picks to improve the Oline and 50 million in cap space without having to restructure anyone.
  20. We need someone to come in and be our version of Alex smith. Someone who we all can accept isn't our franchise guy but can add some stability to the position while we continue to look for a franchise guy. Kirk and Jimmy could both play that role very well, but their current contacts are just too expensive. The fact is there's no short cuts in finding a franchise QB you either have to draft and develop one or pay a premium for one on the trade or free agent market. We tried to gamble on Darnold, and it failed. In hindsight what we should've done is taken a QB last year and let teddy finish being the bridge QB he was brought here to be, but we tried to get too cute by trading for Darnold and now where stuck here with no vet QB on the roster and a failed project in Darnold with very little draft capital to improve the team. So now we're stuck with either riding with another season of Darnold, drafting a guy at 6 who probably isn't worth the selection, trading for an overpriced vet who can maybe make the playoffs in what looks to be a weak division, or having Tepper trade away all the assets we have for Watson.
  21. Well, the games would at least be a lot more entertaining with Jameis Winston. I'd rather watch Winston throw it to DJ or Robbie in double coverage than Sam throwing the ball into the back of his lineman.
