If he truly measures 6'1 and displays a stronger arm then what people think he will move to day 2. But I seriously doubt he does

The bears were universally mocked for moving up for Mitch. I will try and find the article where the niners were openly laughing at that pick Watson and mahomes were good prospects with insane physical skills -

THat was one of the reasons fiores got fired. He couldnt run the offense he wanted because Tua has lost his driving power in his throws from his injury. -

This is truly the only answer. You guys A)really want rhule to draft a qb? B)Really want Rhule to develop a QB? C)You really want a rookie qb behind this line? and more importantly D)Do you really want to give Rhule any chance to slightly look good with a rookie so he can plead for more time to Tepper? -

Yes you can. what that there below is data. A trend even. We are going to suck monkey balls next season as long as sam is the qb and rhule is the coach Rhules first 2 draft picks: Pick 8. Pick 6 Sam Darnold first 4 seasons: Pick 3. Pick 11. Pick 2. Pick 6 -

I see your point but having a cannon isnt the end all be all. We all remember the video of Russell throwing the ball from teh 50 on his knees -

Here is where our philosophies probably differ. I dont think scouts get it wrong per se, I think its all about the situation. Drop just about any qb into a poo situation and they are going to suck. How many jet qb failures do you have to see to say hey maybe its the franchise not the player. There is no way Fields is as bad as he looked this year IMO. It was a poo show of a coaching staff. I know its not feasible to every team but the way KC did with pat is picture perfect. Build the line, have a great mentor teaching and a great coachign staff and simply let him sit to ease the pressure off. What would mahoomes look like starting his rookie year on a team like the jets? -

I would much much rather roll the dice next year and pick a top talent tackle. We are going to suck next year anyway so the timelines dont really matter -

Burrow doesnt have a cannon? Say what? His arm is damn good. Unless you are referring to canon a la Allen or Herbert -
Brugler really likes him. Smart smart smart qb though lacks the strength to push the ball.

There have only been 4 "cant miss" guys that I can remember that everyone was in consensus for. Elway, manning, Luck and trevor -

Rhules first 2 draft picks: Pick 8. Pick 6 Sam Darnold first 4 seasons: Pick 3. Pick 11. Pick 2. Pick 6 would you believe me if I told you I had a crystal ball We are drafting top 5 next year, possibly top 3 and a boxers chance at #1 take it to the bank The more I think about it the more I think Tepper is just going to let Rhule take the hit this season and start over in 2023 -
You said he wasnt worth the pick. You said their line play is objective.

You are too easy from 25 to 3 https://www.pff.com/news/pro-2018-nfl-offensive-line-rankings-all-32-teams-units-after-week-17 https://www.pff.com/news/pro-ranking-all-32-offensive-lines-from-the-2017-nfl-season

At least he is a man of his word
-
I will say this. I just thought of a scenario. If we trade him for peanuts and eat the cap, to me that signals the tank is on and Rhule is just the scapegoat for the 2022 season and we blow it all up again next offseason. I just thought of that and it would be telling if it happened but I still dont think they would be that obvious about it.

So why would we eat that for a 2nd(maybe) probably 3rd round pick? It doesnt make a lick of sense. Next off season it becomes more manageable to do something with him. But it still is going to sting. We are stuck thanks to Hurney (again) with this crap contract for the upcoming year. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/christian-mccaffrey-21749/
