  1. At this point Jalon or Mykel it is what it is. No need to agonize over it so much nobody we pick at 8 is going to save the defense overnight anyway. All that matters is if this staff led by Evero can develop them. Very much remains to be seen and proven.
  2. I largely detached from the NBA altogether the last few months. I had no idea the Pistons somehow stumbled into the playoffs. Seems like even the poverty franchises are a few tiers above us. Unreal.
  3. We can't right this ship in a single offseason anyway. Dan Morgan needs to focus on the basics. If he gets hung up on trying to get value out of this pick or that pick and trying to acquire extra assets like Scott Fitterer used to always thinking he was the smartest guy in the building then Dan is in all likelihood in for another rude awakening. And as usual the fanbase will be the ones picking up the pieces.
  4. I'm ready for Thursday let's get on with it.
  5. I vaguely remember hearing about this. Briefly perused a sub reddit about him. He worked for Pro Football Focus. And apparently he had some past takes about our starting QB. I don't know how much to value knowledge from guys like this who really aren't all that different from the average sports bettor in terms of insight. I guess maybe he can help? https://www.reddit.com/r/panthers/comments/1cnfusn/person_panthers_plan_to_hire_sumersports_vp_eric/
  6. It's almost like things don't actually change despite firing and hiring other people. But we've been assured our owner is hands off now so that couldn't be.
  7. You say this about literally almost everyone. It's boy who cried wolf. I belly laughed at comparing Cam Newton to Eric Reid. One tranformed the entire franchise one was barely a blip. Thanks for the laugh.
  8. I'm not thrilled at the fact Dan thinks wheeling and dealing is his forte. He needs to be less focused on acquiring more picks and more focused on actually identifying legitimate talent.
  9. My response was more about the general state of our offensive weapons outside of RB. I've been one of the few people that still have relatively high hopes for XL. That being said. Our most reliable receiver is a guy who let's be honest is just a JAG at this stage at the tail end of his career and has less YAC ability than a sloth in quick sand. Maybe I'll feel more optimistic after the draft with the right WR addition. We'll see.
  10. 100%. Trying to get cute is the last thing we should want this FO doing right now because they are trash at it.

  12. Yeah when the Chicago Bears are a more well run organization there isn't anything left to say. And this after the recent things I've read about the Bears from former players only adds salt to the wound. Still. I hope those fugers flounder. Yeah I'm petty
  13. Milquetoast David Tepper who couldn't handle a mildly outspoken Cam Newton without unceremoniously jettisoning him to the shadow realm would never sign off on Shedeur Sanders. He mortgaged the future of the team to draft the QB who was as far away from being like Cam he could find. Might as well wake up from your dream and stop simping bud.
  14. Unstable mental state and a firearm. Not a good combination. Unfortunately this is a very distinctly American storyline.
  15. Safety over DL with a top ten pick and a huge need for defensive linemen lines up with how David Tepper's Panthers have tried to build rosters.
  16. Two lives lost for no reason. Something has to give with the state of American drivers on our roads sooner or later. Too many idiots who don't need one are getting a license and driving like aggressive asshats and half of them are in overpowered muscle cars they also don't need.
  17. I definitely understand that. It's an unfortunate result of fatigue from going on now 8 years of losing seasons consecutively. Hopefully we're on the verge of something better.
  18. I was too. I bought his talk of being a leader heading into 2023 and was excited as well. Ultimately that and the hype never amounted to a hill of beans. We got bamboozled. That man is sitting on what should be generational wealth now. He's doing just fine I assure you. Let's just hope Dan Morgan and Brandt Tilis are better equipped to identify talented defensive linemen who are also motivated to win.
  19. Idk man for a long time there were people who gave Burns the benefit of the doubt. I think really it's about learning and adapting going forward. We already can't draft worth a damn. If we're targeting pass rushers we need to reconsider past approaches and try something different so we don't keep ending up in the same conundrum.
  20. Not sure Panthers fans are the right folks to be drawing a line in the sand over using obscure stats out of thin air to prop up a QB. I seem to remember a lot of that last year.
  21. His biggest issue was buying into his own hype. It didn't help he had his brother in his ear at every turn building him up even when he was disappearing out there on the field and stinking up the joint. But they got what they wanted. The big payday. That was more important to Brian that cementing his place as an elite pass rusher amongst his peers. But listen let's get down to it here. Regardless of how one feels about Mykel Williams or any other DL prospect maybe we should consider an alternative measuring tool going forward for our historically bad defense that isn’t defined by just being marginally better than Brian Burns. I'm just saying.
  22. Burns had a big ego on top of it all. Legend in his own mind. I'm certainly very intrigued by Mykel as a prospect it's the notion that we are rolling the dice on a top 10 pick with only the hope that he can become a force as a pass rusher. That being said I'm certainly more upbeat about the possibility of Mykel Williams honing his craft than I am someone like Shemar Stewart. But who knows with our Panthers. We continually seem to make the wrong decision.
