  1. Been telling people we can't cross Tackle off the list as a need.
  2. Death Taxes The refs sticking it to the Panthers.
  3. I'll take any progress I can get. If he made a good play then he gets credit for it. But we are and have lowered the bar here. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that.
  4. I think they are fairly different on the physicality front so a lob from prime Russ is not the same IMO. He played baseball and could have been drafted. I can't stand him but he definitely had a knack for some wild throws.
  5. I can't watch at the moment. Was it a lob or a good pass? Seriously lol
  6. My goodness this franchise is snakebit.
  7. Who is enjoying field goals? You're tweaking for no reason bruv.
  8. Not going as bad as I thought it would but back to back field goals at home is eventually going to quickly give way to a blowout. Sooner or later Mahomes is going to get on the gas and not let off.
  9. Guessing you're on a bender today. Hope it gets better for ya big guy!
  10. Held them to a field goal. Now the offense needs to get in the damn end zone.
  11. It either goes really well or really bad.
  12. 82 combined from our two stars. LaMelo is in good company. We need to get serious about maximizing the potential of these two while they are young.
  13. It amuses me how Goff's name the last few years is often used to compare to subpar or underperforming QB's. Now on the surface I get it. But when you look at his numbers he's been the same QB all along. He's improved his completion % but even with the Rams he averaged 63.4. And that Super Bowl he played in they should have won honestly. If we can get a QB as good as Goff I'll be pretty damn pleased.
  14. I'm excited to see him in action. I don't know why anyone else wouldn't be. Hopefully he looks like a stud in the making. But I'm not going to expect much given the circumstances. It is a home game though so hopefully the team comes out fired up.
  15. There isn't anything he can do that would prevent me from drafting another QB early and blowing up the QB room ie goodbye Andy Dalton and goodbye Jake Plummer. If Bryce is here come next year during camp he can compete for and earn a spot like everyone else.
  16. 38 for Miller 35 for Ball. The team around them stepped up. And to think all of this with a void at center. If they successfully build around these two we will be contending in the playoffs at some point.
  17. The Pistons are not good. They keep trying to give this game to the Hornets. Crazy it's still this close.
  18. LaMelo and Brandon looking pretty damn good.
  19. Yeah as I said the other day we swung hard toward the offense this past offseason and this upcoming offseason is going to have to be a hard swing to the defense. For better or worse it's the situation we put ourselves in.
  20. Icky needs to hold down LT for the rest of the season to continue evaluating him. If he finishes strong tackle is less of a need. If he continues to be up and down then there's your answer.
  21. The average sports fan is a meathead. I actually think the huddle is better than some other communities. And let's be honest regarding the at times lack of civility around here. We used to have regulars who were fans of other teams. We've been so bad for so long those days are long gone. If people think the difference of opinion we share as fans of the same team is bad I don't think some folks here would have stuck around for those days where rival fans used to pop in here to bust our chops. Smack Central used to be a very frequented subforum. Some people have definitely taken on an echo chamber mentality. That's not to stay there is anything wrong with that necessarily but it is something worth noting in comparing this iteration of the huddle to years past. That's why to me the constant groaning about negativity is met with an eye roll. I'm not directing that at you or anyone in particular just speaking in general. As far as Sunday goes. If we knock off the Chiefs at home it will undoubtedly be a full team effort. Idk about everyone else as I can't speak for them but that would go a long way for me in reestablishing a culture here. Beating the defending champions is a tone setter. That is a different world from beating the Saints and Giants. So yes I would be very pleased to see this franchise take that kind of step under Canales. But. I think that's a dream scenario as of right now. I'll just settle for keeping it relatively close and not getting embarrassed.
