Went through all this with Brandon Miller. There were bitter and I mean bitter back and forth convos and some meltdowns over the pick. I know the Hornets history. I'm not going to sit here and pretend they absolutely made the right pick. Between this franchise and the Panthers the drafts are a house of horrors. I know really bad by now when I see it. With a full perspective and the fact Miller developed Salaun is developing and KJ is developing I'm wait and see mode. He could end up being every single one of the things ya'll say. Or he could be a really good player we just don't know and we may not for awhile.

It's good to know we've got a couple of Ms Cleo clones in here that already know the future careers of Kon and Ace after 2 summer league games. Let me get the winning powerball numbers too when you get some free time thanks.
-
You know there's a preseason right?
-
Eh just let Summer League play out. It's a developmental year anyway. I'm just happy to see this many young motivated players with legit promise. This roster absolutely needed it after such a rough end to the season last year.
-
I think you're just digging in because you didn't like the pick. I mean you could end up being right we all know the history of the Hornets drafting. But I think you're a little too gleeful with the issue brother. Let's give him some time and revisit.
-
You would think simple nuance with Salaun's progression after months of whailing about him being a bust would give folks a little perspective to maybe let Kon play a few games before flailing about him being a bust. But nope. Game 1 of summer league his career is over.
-
Other than his shots not falling tonight he's been fine. Considering how improved Salaun looks after how often people have labeled him a bust and a wasted pick maybe we should let Kon play another game or two before declaring him a bust lol

Crazy it's already closing in on a full decade. As far as the Charlotte Observer I've got to be honest. I don’t feel like I need to hear anything from them about that season. I remember them proudly publishing that Hello Kitty bullshit about Cam Newton while he was trying to change the culture of this pitiful sports city while some were kicking and screaming along the way. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/charlotte-observer-thinks-cam-newton-is-more-hello-kitty-than-superman/

"However, a recent proposal from CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin has stirred the pot, suggesting a blockbuster trade" It's best to stop giving these people clicks.

Ideally Bryce and the other starters should get at least a full quarter and an argument could be made for 2 full quarters given how they've played early in the season the last few years.
-
All the starters need significant reps. As far as injuries things like that are going to happen no matter what. It can happen in camp it can happen in preseason it can happen at any point later in the season. As Panthers fans we know this better than most. But that should not deter us from properly preparing for the season. And let's be real here. It's not like the Panthers have any track record of success to prove they deserve the benefit of the doubt to be considered ahead of the curve on these matters compared to the rest of the league. We haven't had a winning season in going on 8 years.

I liked James on a personal level. I still do. But he had his flaws too and what's done is done. Charles Lee will get this season to showcase what he's building. If he and the team look like poo he should be on a very hot seat. But I don’t expect that to happen. I could be wrong. But I'd rather not be in this instance. Regardless. At some point we're going to be lucky to hire anyone worth a damn if we keep firing coaches. It's not something any of us should want to see because it's only going to mean yet another reset. Best case scenario is Lee with this infusion of youth establishes a refreshing culture change. We'll see.

The problem with Borrego is that development you speak of amounted to one step forward two steps back more often than not. And when we got to any playoff atmosphere that development went right out the window. The mistake was firing him and having absolutely no answer except running it back with Clifford. That was a horrible decision obviously. For me I don't think this franchise is going to fire and hire their way into being competitive and relevant again. Lee needs to show improvement this upcoming season. But your argument of firing him now while running cover for Borrego doesn't make much sense sir.

In hindsight JB wasn't to blame for the lacking culture. He did what he could with a LaMelo Ball led team. That doesn't mean he was the long term answer either. Different things can be true at one time.
-
Much like the other local team here they should be at least marginally better but I think most people are tempering expectations. Right now the floor is a basketball team worth watching and rooting for. Anything else is merely a surprise bonus.

31 is a kick in the dick. But at the end of the day the onus is on the Panthers to prove they belong in a better class of conversation. -
Those are basic throws you'd expect any mid round rookie QB to be making. I'm all for a certain degree of optimism but I'm not falling for photo ops or unearned hype this go around. Even when we get to camp it's going to be very important to temper expectations. Here's a video of a guy recapping camp last year before we got destroyed on the road the first 2 games of the season. Keep your head on a swivel folks.

Meh. Players respected and trusted Marty Hurney too. Turns out players love the guy that's lining their pockets. Who knew? All that matters is that we actually finally start developing talent.
-
They've kicked the fluff up a few notches for this one. But it's difficult not to buy in. Morgan and especially Canales are organizational figures that bring stability and respect. And they seem to be a really good match. But that doesn't guarantee everything will come together. If the team culture takes a few steps forward that will make a huge difference. But at the end of the day the offense and our 2023 first overall pick have to lead the way.
