  1. Well as a fanbase we have to reconcile with the reality that after the debacle that was giving full control and generational wealth to Matt Rhule which ended comically bad. Morgan now and Fitterer before him have been largely figureheads and the Tepper's have been pushing and steering the overall agenda. As such. Salvaging the trade and selection of Bryce Young has been the #1 goal because they wanted him and they do not want to admit they made a catastrophic mistake. This is why we have made basically no changes to the scouting staff in many years and instead we've pivoted to hiring and putting resources into analytics and PFF. Unfortunately even if we fire Morgan no GM worth his salt is going to take a job here knowing he has to be a sycophant to and take orders from the Tepper's.
  2. Well ultimately he knew full well what he was getting into with this lot here which is why he insisted on a 6 year contract.
  3. Something gotta give soon. Can't keep trying to make an example out of others while whistling along ignoring the elephant in the room.
  4. Bryce Young has one road win in three years and has consistently displayed the lowest volume of yards per play across the NFL since entering the league. Nobody was going around whailing about Jimmy Clausen haters 15 years ago. The word "hater" around here is effectively meaningless thanks to folks like the OP.
  5. To the argument that this is about "sending a message" I put as much stock in the meaningfulness of this as I do sending Xavier Legette to the shadow realm for playing poorly. None of this poo matters until we get a QB with some balls.
  6. This franchise just has no self awareness under the Tepper's.
  7. Well there's a second Lombardi trophy over there in the midst of it all.

  9. It is quite ironic. But it is indicative of what made Morgan the hire. He had to be on board with sacrificing other crucial parts of the team in order to build around Bryce Young and justify the trade. It's why other GM candidates flatly balked at interviews.
  10. Licht is one of the better GM's in the league and he's been with them since 2014. It's crazy what can happen when you have an owner who actually allows football people to make the decisions.
  11. Eric Collins is a gem. I don't expect the team to give him much to work with unfortunately.
  12. I figured. Admittedly there was a time when I tried to give Evero the benefit of the doubt. Lesson learned. He is after all someone that David Tepper particularly believes in to the point he basically forced him to stay here another year.
  13. The heavy push into analytics started with Tepper. And now we have PFF bros on the payroll.
  14. His track record speaks for itself at this point and it is horrific. He came in with a ton of hype but nothing he has done or been involved in to this point has shown that it was justified. He is basically the Scott Fitterer of defensive coordinators.
  15. Cam Newton wasn't even regarded as the best QB in his draft class by most analysts and quite a few people on the huddle. You look at how they played against the best competition you look at their physical traits you look at how they carry themselves as athletes and amongst their teammates and you make the best determination you can.
  16. Get more aggressive with the playcalling he says but zero mention of the glaring physical limitations of the starting quarterback. Guess he wants to keep his credentials with the Panthers.
  17. Let's just keep it real with one another. We've exhausted all these resources into the offense to the detriment of our defense in order to try and make our #1 pick who was billed as a generational ball distributor who would not require elite talent around him look even halfway serviceable. And it has blown up in our faces
  18. 9th in offensive spending and 28th in defensive spending and folks like you complain about the defense not doing more but you don't see it as lopsided?
  19. Unpacking that whole dynamic is really something. First of all how everyone there is so used to David and Nicole Tepper just being completely involved that it's just another day. Then Dan Morgan just being a complete and utter yes man to his former best friend Scott Fitterer. At the end of the day all of these people are just sycophants to ownership. Nothing will improve until they completely remove themselves from the equation or sell the team.
  20. There was a whole lot of coping going on in that thread damn. Life comes at you fast!
  21. Bryce Young has been handed starting gigs since he was a kid and his parents paid for him to get the best coaching available. It cannot be understated what playing for Saban and Alabama did for him in terms of his perception in the media. The hype he has received and the pass he still receives is like nothing I've ever seen. You would think he willed a mediocre Alabama team to a national championship and won it largely on his own. Cam Newton did that. And he still wasn't regarded as the best QB in his class. Bryce showed up to the combine and hid out in a hoodie. He knew full well what he was doing and you best believe his parents were in his ear advising him to do so too. He looks like a guy who has never had to face real adversity in his life. And the Panthers have only reinforced that and further coddled him. The results speak volumes.
  22. Posted this before but for 2025 our salary cap spending on the offense versus the defense is comically lopsided. We have invested a great deal just to try and make this kid look even mediocre and he can't do it. https://overthecap.com/positional-spending
  23. Watched the video read this guys responses in the comments. He's just another in a long line of folks carrying water. The Panthers have many problems and 99% of folks readily acknowledge that. But to just ignore the fact that Bryce Young's distinct lack of ability to throw downfield competently and consistently and his horrible ball placement is putting the offense and the defense as a result in predicaments throughout games is not even a viewpoint worth responding to anymore. These people cannot be helped.
  24. Whew buddy that's rough. You can assess all the factors with the team this is truly a bad franchise but at the same time the lack of flashes or elevating anyone around him at any level is impossible to ignore. Go to Andy or Hendon and just roll with that for the rest of the season good and bad. Either of them will poo the bed too sooner or later but at least we will try to move the ball downfield and actually see who is and is not worth keeping around developmentally.
