  1. You're right. Brady did start every game those seasons. I just googled it myself as I couldn't remember Brady's college career correctly. Good job.
  2. YOu're right. I forgot about that National title at Blinn College. YOu got me there dude. You win.
  3. When some one has a point other than he has 1 good season I'll pay attention but until then thanks for reading.
  4. Hmm, how are they doing right now? That what, 3 in 5 or 6 years? Not a lot now is it considering how many QBs have been drafted. But thanks for proving my point. It doesn't matter!!!
  5. No dude, I was making fun of your point. The whole conversation started from a dumb point. How many good years did Cam have again before his last season which wasn't as good as Pickets? Math sucks I know
  6. Tell me the last QB drafted who WAS good for more than 1 season, please. Again, no facts just regurgitated opinion about 1 year success. That's weak. and smh to you too whatever that means. Go read some evaluations and find a new reason to not draft Pickett please. The one season argument is almost as old as it is dumb.
  7. Yes, not a 4 year starter. You do realize that's worse, right? Couldn't win the job for most of their time.
  8. And yet Mac Jones had the best season of all the QBs drafted in 2021. Not a good argument at this point my friend. Maybe when the other 4 don't play poorly or at please play some and do better, then maybe it's an ok point but still based on random views. Still, no one is critiquing his performance this season. I'm waiting.
  9. I think it's funny that the best reason anyone seems to have for not drafting Pickett is that he didn't dominate the ACC every year he played. At least critique his last season as that's the only one which matters. I guess Drew Brees sucked because his first years in the NFL he wasn't that good. Tom Brady sucked because he didn't even play a full season at Michigan. C'mon y'all. It's what have you done for me lately that matters most.
  10. Tell me about the other four years of Burrow, please. Or Wilson. Or Lance. I'll wait for you to collect those stats. .............................................okay, ready?
  11. Go ahead and create a Rhule sucks thread or include it in the Watson one and tell everyone to include all of those posts there too while you're at it. That way you and the rest of the upper ranks only need to open one thread and the rest of us can have quality discussions about the Panthers off season.
  12. It took them 4 years too. Did you read the stats you posted dude? You keep making my arguments for me. But I do appreciate your opinions even if they counter your argument. Pickett is only 23. How old were they when they got drafted? 22? I'm not sure as I think it's not a very good point. Maybe if he was 28 but not 23. How old is Cam now and what's he doing? I don't mean to put down Cam as he was great for us but just showing the flaw in your take on age.
  13. I agree with this. I really do as I also was going into this off season dreaming of the 3rd best LT coming here. However, I don't follow college football and I ignore the media leading up to this part of the off season as I like to form my own opinions about guys. I knew very little about Pickett coming into this but I started watching his tape last week. I was impressed and started reading up on him, watching interviews and I watched his combine. That's when I changed my mind. No one here ever heard me say anything about Picket until recently at that's because I had no opinion besides taking an LT at 6 or trading down. But after studying him I changed my mind completely. Enough so that I'm will to push what I know is an unpopular opinion openly. I'm no expert and I don't claim to be but I've followed this stuff for many years and have learned what things teams look for in a QB and I see all of those things. The only possible red flags are little things (pun intended) like hand size and pass distance. The hands are nitpicking and not really that important much lack arm length for LTs (no?) and while he doesn't throw the ball 60+ yards, how often do QBs need to throw it that far and he can throw it between 50-55 yards and perfectly. His passes at that range at the columbine were PERFECT. He also has shown the same ability during games. He hits his receivers in stride and right in the numbers at that range. I cannot find any other negatives in his game. He throws well in and out out of the pocket off both feet and extends play with his athleticism and mobility. Plus he's actually faster than average. When I watched him I said to myself "well this class may be weak but this guy certainly isn't." So I changed my mind and jumped on the Pickett train. Forget what they say, forget what you've read and just really evaluate the player and he has everything a team could ask for. No pick is 100% including the LTs, at least one will likely bust, but when you have a shot a a franchise QB you have to take it. LTs are important, yes, but QBs are more important and we have 30m going into FA and there are many options available plus we have Christianson who showed signs of being able to play LT if we can't find a better option.
  14. Auburn, 2010 NCAA Champs LSU, 2019 NCAA Champs Not making excuses but as you can see from your own evidence that Pickett had better career numbers than BOTH Burrow AND Cam and a much better final season than Cam did. They also played for better teams in their final seasons. But they also kind of prove my point. They were the top picks of their drafts. Pickett at 6 is a steal. If he compares so closely to those 2 players why wouldn't we want him at pick 6? Your own evidence shows that Pickett had a better college career than Can Newton who we drafted number 1 overall and who lead us to a SB and is the best QB of our Franchise. Why would you NOT want to draft Kenny Pickett at number 6 then? You also said "Maybe he just figured it out but I wouldn’t come close to comparing him to other one year wonders like Burrow and Cam." Okay, fair enough but why?
  15. True, but I'm not only going off that. I'm just not going to repeat every reason why he's my guy in every single post I make. Things like size, arm, competition as well as systems are important too. Pickett checks all the boxes and has the stats against high level competition which make the difference.
  16. My first thought was "is that real?" I'm not saying it is or isn't. I personally don't want Watson here regardless of that situation but all I can see there is a typed page talking about the case. I have no idea where it comes from or who typed it. For all I know Zod typed it. It really doesn't mean anything unless it's verified as authentic. DRAFT KENNY PICKETT!!!
  17. Those are fair points. However, very few QB dominate for 4 years. Players need to play at that level to learn and develop their games just like Burrow did. He literally only started 1 season but it was great. What's important is that he DID learn and develop into that QB which is why in was playing on college. His final season was fantastic. There just aren't that many players who play the QB position who ever have a season like that. QB is different than other positions that way. Most never "get" it at any level but when drafting a QB you have to choose the ones who did even if it was their last season. SF drafted a QB with pick 3 with only 1 great season and at a low level of competition. Most people around here loved that player including myself but at 3? Same could be said about Wilson at 2. Teams do it all the time so imo to say that Pickett is somehow a bad pick because of that is not consistent with past drafts. Last season, the QB with the second best career was picked 5th among QBs. No one wanted him. For me, Pickett demonstrated that he could play against top college talent and dominate it. That's all anyone can ask for in a QB being considered for their first pick. To get a guy with that kind of season coupled with his excellent post season workouts with the 6th pick should have this base jumping up and down with excitement instead of looking for reasons to hate it. But that's just the way I see it. Perhaps I'm wrong but I really don't understand why he's being treated so differently than most other QBs in every other draft process.
  18. In what other year would a QB with over 4,500 total yards, 47 total tds, and only 7 int be considered a 2nd round QB??? That makes zero sense to me and to suggest that Willis, who only did half of that at Liberty and not in the ACC, is somehow the better choice is just beyond ridiculous for me. You guys really need to explain how you could justify that opinion to me or anyone else. Pickett should be considered a top 10 QB in any draft over the last 5 years.
  19. I have recently come out in support of Panthers drafting the QB with our 1st pick whether it's at 6 or a little lower but now I'm having second thoughts about this. Were my own evaluations so wrong and uninformed or was I simply biased? I don't know for sure. Perhaps you all can explain to me why I am so off in my evaluation process. Here are just a few examples of evaluations about the young QB. It wasn't hard for me to find them. They are literally the first ones I found. I won't crowd the post with the full evaluations but I will post parts just to make their sentiments abundantly clear. "It is always a quarterback. There is always (at least) one quarterback in every draft gets way over-drafted because of the immense value of the quarterback position." "was an effective, long-term starter who showed talent and ability in the passing game. He also tested well and interviewed well at the NFL combine." "who is being pushed up draft boards due to various degrees of wishful thinking and ignorance." "While it is admirable he has the patience and maturity to go through all of his reads, he is not very fast about it sometimes and has benefited from playing against relatively mediocre defenses" "But, he’s almost certainly going to get drafted by a top-10 team, and that spells trouble for the young quarterback and the team that drafts him." Wow, that's some harsh stuff. Obviously, he's not worthy of a top 10 pick and likely will be nothing but a career back up at best. Accept that's not really talking about Kenny Pickett but ......Justin Herbert. Let's have a look at stats. KP- 67%, 4,319 yds, 42 tds, 7 int, Run- 233yds, 5 tds JH- 63.9%, 3,471 yds, 32 tds, 5 int, Run- 50 yds, 4 tds As we can see, they are very similar with a slight advantage to KP. I bring this up because I think they are similar. Both are 4 year starters. Both are accurate and confident passers. JH has a stronger arm likely and KP is a better runner. Pickett also compares well statistically with Burrow. KP- 67%, 4,319 yds, 42 tds, 7 int, Run- 233 yds, 5 tds JB- 70.4%, 4,611 yds, 47 yds, 19 int, Run- 118 yds, 2 tds That's comparing him to one of the best college passing seasons ever!!! Look how close that is. I honestly don't see why he isn't being hyped up much more than he is. I think it's because the narrative about this class has been that it's a weak class for 2 years now. This class was evaluated as weak last year and that has hung over it all this season and I think it's affecting opinions. He's been a leader since his first career start when he lead Pitt to an upset victory over Miami. He had an amazing final season which compares with the likes of the 2 rising stars for the Chargers and Bengals. I'm not guaranteeing results like that but by the stats he looks like he deserves the opportunity. He can battle Sam pre-season and if he needs a little time we can give it to him like Malhomes and Herbert was suppose to but the starter got injured and the rest is history. We should be super excited that we may have a chance to draft this kid and with the 6th pick!!! I know I am!!! Now, I know this doesn't mean he will or won't succeed. But QBs like him? They usually do. He has everything you should look for in a young QB. He's a leader, players like him, lots of experience at high level, confident not cocky, accuracy, elusive, good arm and awareness. This is our chance to take the shot and this is the kid to take it on. Draft Kenny Pickett.
  20. I agree with you that we should draft a QB instead however I'm not so sure about we should have done it last year. The jury is still out as it's just been one season but that class, while being hyped existentially, it didn't perform very well in season 1.
  21. CRUSH Kenny Pickett. I read above that he needs a dome but he played 4 years outdoors in Pittsburg without any problems. If he could play there then I don't think Carolina should be a problem. Everything I've seen, heard, or watched about him looks good to me. I know everyone says this class is bad but I'd honestly rank him as the 2nd or 3rd best QB in LAST season's class.
  22. I certainly hope that you're right. I personally don't believe this rumor is any different than the last 10-15 saying the same thing but just wanted to make sure my position on the issue, at this time, is out there since I do openly support Rhule on most things.
