Would have to be at a lower amount than what was mentioned/projected. That money would be best spent on defense.

Sure there is a lot of depth at DL in the draft but if we take warren at 8, we are almost certainly going to trade up our 2nd after a run on DL in the first and possibly another run in the second. Plus our poor late round drafting makes me worry. I mean I agree that a lot of these guys make our defense better, but I just don't know if we are competent enough to get the late round gems. Last year was a deep draft at WR both at the top and depth, we took XL with likely more talented WR's on the board. Obviously its too early to judge XL, but with what we know right now I just worry about how we navigate through drafts. But I do agree with you somewhat. I wouldn't hate the pick of warren. Just wouldn't love it. I'd have to grade it based off our entire draft rather than just loving our 1st round pick. If that makes sense.

Yeah. Honestly thought it was very early in this draft process for DJ to say something like that and for him to put a lot of confidence behind it is crazy.

A lot of people took DJ's tweet very serious in him basically stating if he knows anything for certain it's that Cleveland will take a QB. Sorry for not posting link to tweet. I can try to find it though.

I'm not out on warren, i mean i wouldn't love it. I would like the selection of warren more in a trade-back scenario. And i would be very surprised if he isn't there at 8. I get this isn't a star studded draft like last year which resulted in a super talent like bowers dropping to the teens, but im not so sure that is the best selection we could make at 8. Surely, I could be wrong here. Maybe i'll feel better about it after FA, but i'm just not so sure we'll bring in these big name FAs we've been looking at or hearing rumors about. Still, I wouldn't hate the pick, just wouldn't be hyped up about it.

I have really tried to forget times like that. Here's to hoping those days are behind us.

Lot of rumors on who we'll be targeting in FA. Will be interesting to see who we actually sign. Can't wait for next week.

I think for Pitts people use him as an example without truly looking into it. Sure he only had 1 TD his rookie year but he also had 1k yards his rookie year (2021). I would say that’s a good start. Then 2022 happened and he tore his MCL and PCL. He just hasn’t been the same guy following that injury. Lost a lot of explosiveness and just hasn’t been the same guy. I just don’t think we can fault the Falcons for an unexpected freak injury. No one can predict these kind of injuries. Not trying to fight for Pitts or use this as a reason to draft warren. Ultimately it is a wasted pick for ATL regardless. Just adding a little context.

Very curious to see how we attack free agency. They don't seem like they are gearing up to attack FA like they did last year as far as spending the kind of money they did. I think if they were they wouldn't be open to letting moton's contract ride out. They would be doing some restructures, extensions to gather as much money as possible. I think they want to continue to get young. Obviously, this is all speculation. I think they will attack the DL, just not exactly how they did OL last year. Feel free to correct me in my thinking here, always love the insight/thoughts of others.

I don't see it as a likely pick unless it is in a trade-back scenario honestly. But as always, i could be wrong here. Im just not considering him as a pick. Especially with how DM is talking, which could be all smoke screens/GM talk.

Yeah im leaning more towards green and pearce over walker as well (obviously don't see carter falling to us). But damn i can definitely see us drafting walker or mykel. I can see us falling in love with one of those georgia boys for sure. Was interesting to see Canales talking about Warren though and the many ways he could see him being utilized. I don't see us drafting him other than in an unlikely trade-back scenario, but it was interesting to see/hear his answer when asked about warren.

Honestly wasn’t expecting that much love for walker. Wouldn’t be against it though.

It depends on how GMs above us in the draft feel about his arm length. Some GMs will die on that hill.
