  1. If we want Jimmy G we shoulda just kept Teddy, they'd be interchangeable on this 49ers offense
  2. Things are gonna change with the NIL endorsement deals and the transfer portal combined. It'll take some time but some smaller schools are gonna be more competitive and some players/coaches will get a lot more recognition for turning around the underdog teams when it's a little bit more even of a playing field
  3. Yeah a top 10 college team isn't gonna be interested in Rhule, he brings nothing of value to the x's and o's of actually winning in the playoffs/championship however they do it now. He'll be back to another Temple/maybe ECU level team. He can't even be a position coach in the NFL! That's what blows my mind.
  4. If they were at home I imagine fans would be asking for Lance right about now. Nothing else working
  5. He'll have a slightly better TD/INT ratio, but he's never going to take over a game, come back from behind, sell jerseys, all the things Tepper wants. I don't get it. I'd rather be watching Fields next year whether it's a winning season or not. People would have patience with that, even if he turned out to be more of a Jalen Hurts than a Watson
  6. Yeah how does firing your "up and coming" OC, and replacing him with a random Mcadoo have anything to do with "program building". I'm not a Brady fan but either way it reaks of desperation, not building
  7. Yeah they had Teddy under contract and the 8th pick in the draft, it was set up perfectly to get your rookie QB. Drafting a bust and trading for a 3 year proven bust is not the same thing. Not money wise or fan excitement wise
  8. He came in with OBJ the same year, 13th best pass blocking O-line and Eli's arm was still functioning. Much different scenario than what he's walking into here. Eli was good at reading the D pre snap, adjusting, and going through his reads, basically the opposite of Darnold.
  9. Yeah I really don't see anyone wanting to be involved with him, especially with the new college NIL endorsment deals and the transfer portal stuff. He's not exactly the guy that's gonna attract the big names to your big school. I don't see him taking a pay cut for another college rebuild when he can just stay here until Tepper's patience runs out
  10. Maybe Tepper is just waiting for Rhule to find the right college job so he's not on the hook for 5 more years of his contract..Dunno why else you'd let this weasel sniff around at college jobs constantly while blowing up his own staff just to buy himself some time of the inevitable. He already looked at Penn St and was interested in LSU but they weren't interested in him
  11. HC is a joke, Tepper installed turf, tried to take away keep pounding, put in some ugly ass field level suites for opposing fans to eat breakfast in..Imagine being in the red zone and theres an eagles fan eating pancakes in a little cubicle in front of you. I guess Tepper will make his profits off adding MLS games and as many concerts as possible hence the turf and silence about the actual team/reason he got the stadium sold to him in the first place
  12. Yeah, sorry looking back I liked your OP. The main issue for me is Rhule was supposed to "build a program/culture like the Steelers have had for 30 years" or whatever. Now he's just doing some more gambling hoping to hit on some kinda situation he can take credit for
  13. The issue was he was trying to get him to take the first snap/series and then let Geno play the full game just so Eli could continue his starting streak. Eli was like fug you, so the whole team was like fug this guy. After he got fired Eli started again and threw for like 430 yards his next game out of complete pent up rage haha. Him and Rhule both seem have to have no idea how to treat pro NFL players with the respect they deserve on a basic human level
  14. I wish this was an all or nothing/hard knocks tv year. I'd rather watch an hour of behind the scenes a week than the actual games
  15. Do you mean best available that was willing to take the job? There are better options they just weren't returning the calls and I don't blame them
  16. Yeah the missing 2nd from this year is because of Darnold. The 4th we have is from trading back with the Texans, if no Darnold we'd have 2 4ths this year. The missing 3rd for CJ is the only non Darnold problem. We only got the 6th for Teddy, coulda just kept him and would have been better off with picks and cap space this year
  17. That's the problem with getting a college coach. Takes away like half your OC options. If we had a former NFL OC as our head coach he could afford to take a Brady or NFL position coach and help them along. Rhule can offer nothing to his staff in the form of actual x's and o's
  18. Sounds like we have the completely wrong QB for his scheme. Eli did do a lot of drop backs and throws over 10 yards down the field in 2014-15. Eventually his arm strength just regressed to a point where he couldn't function in that system I'm guessing.
  19. True, but maybe just maybe Tepper realizes that a new HC this year is set up for failure, with no draft picks and stuck with Darnold. Next offseason is a clean slate (Unless Rhule trades all our 2023 draft picks to move back into this draft, signs some more mediocre O-line guys to long deals, etc)
  20. Yeah we'll probably have to send someone a 2023 draft pick and Darnold for them to cover half his guaranteed $, basically sell a draft pick for the favor. Thats like 4 draft picks total for a failed Darnold experiment?
  21. So what kinda program is this building? This obviously wasn't part of Rhules initial vision so what are they actually trying to work towards?
  22. Seems like the smartest guy in the building is Fitt, and he's been reduced to a yes man/numbers guy. Rhule is supposedly doing the OC interviews solo, so maybe it's Tepper trying to separate GM from HC on Rhules last chance to get something right. Seems like a shrewd business guy kinda move
  23. It seemed like his first order of business was the soccer team, and retrofitting the stadium to accommodate soccer. He kept Hurney and Ron for the first two years while he dabbled in business stuff. He shoulda been on the GM search halfway through 2019 when he realized he wasn't gonna keep Ron. The Giants seem to be doing things the way we should have
  24. I really doubt Gruden wants Baylor guys as his position coaches, and i don't think Rhule is going to convince him or anyone to take the job if thats a stipulation
  25. Yeah the fact that Rhule is doing the OC search on his own is interesting. It can go either way though, Tepper giving him one last chance with no one else to blame and if it doesn't work out he's gone. Or Tepper just being patient/too stubborn to admit he picked the wrong HC and they're both going to try to force it into success so they can brag about how "the long, hard process" paid off
