  1. Not necessarily if they believe Christensen is that guy. You filled the other spots with the free agency acquisitions. But, All that depends on how they feel about Christensen.
  2. This.... peoples jobs and families are on the line this year.. people thinking like fans think rhule can afford to ignore needs and tepper will accept losing just because this year's class sucks.
  3. The Texans basically started Davis Mills all season who isnt nearly as talented as Willis.... he at worst wouldn't look any worse than Zac Wilson or Trevor Lawrence for that matter. These young qbs are learning on the job. Right or wrong they are playing. You already want to lean on a run heavy offense the idea a guy also who helps your run game won't play is absurd. I also think if Rhule drafts a young qb who shows promise for next season that also might save his job and extend his life just on potential hope for next season. If he doesn't draft a qb and loses or misses the playoffs he's toast.
  4. I don't know where the idea of Willis won't play this year comes from. That's a old 20 years ago mantra that is just outdated. These young qbs mostly are playing right away. The way NFL offenses have changed to mimick the college game rpos read option whatever you could get production right away. Especially* the way rhule wants to be a run first team. His throwing ability isn't nearly as bad as you all seem to think. Pickett of course look ready to go and probably would make the better reads and hit the open throws. But there is ceiling on what he can do. He can't make the wow throws. If I'm playing it safe and My team needs a game Manger I go Pickett. You a gambling man need a home run I go Willis. As I have said My preference talent wise is Icky, Neal, and then WIllis.
  5. In this specific instance I didn't mention Willis. I'm not even discussing that. What my point is Rhule is playing for his Job this season. He doesn't have a wait on a qb next year and hope he has the number 1 pick to land one of those guys. He has what he has THIS year. We can be fans and discuss what we want. I'm just being realistic and saying if your rhule and you have to win or make the playoffs does waiting on a qb til next year save your job? Do you even care about the Panthers future picks? I think he's more likely to draft a guy and trade back up into the first than bank on next years crop of qbs.
  6. I think if a guy has all pro-upside then he is worth the pick. If the guy has the potential to challenge mahomes and burrow even if he isn't there now you pick him. I know that scares the conservative approach that most of this board has, but you always bet on talent. More times than not. It's what the chiefs did with Mahomes.. and tyreek hill. Talent usually wins out. Play it safe with Hugh floor guys gets you Derrick brown and Shaq Thompson to a degree. Those guys are fine but not teir 1 guys.
  7. Yes WE as fans. Fans aren't the ones with their jobs on the line is my point. While your strategy works if the plan is long term. Rhule who we last heard has roster control and say so there is no future. He has to win now... tanking or next years draft class doesn't save his job this year. Which is the problem with this line of thinking is my point.
  8. This is exactly right. Every year the next class looks good or better. Until the season comes then they dissect it and find all the blemishes with every prospect. Rattler was can't miss Howell as well.
  9. The problem with this line of thinking is fans and tepper have forever and can wait til next year.... rhule who is on the hottest might not even have til mid season... he's on a win now or go home contract. He's got this season and what's in it now to make the playoffs. If he has as much control as we think I wouldn't bet against him even leveraging some of next years draft capital to win this season.
  10. Look bro. To you and every other boomer who don't seem to get it. I AM IN NO WAY SAYING PASSING ISNT THE DEFINING TRAIT FOR A QB. What I am saying is mobility is becoming less of a oh its nice and more of a standard issue thing. Look at the starting quarterbacks in the league and tell me how many 4.9+ guys are still around. I don't care what Tom Brady does or Mahomes(who is mobile by the way)... those 2 guys are once in a lifetime type talents. You not going to get that. So until the next one comes your stuck picking whatever it is that the college ranks are producing. Right now it just jsnt pocket passers.
  11. Wentz isn't a bad passer he is just bad at staying healthy. But whatever the case he has been given multiple starting jobs and has become a decent passer( mvp caliber) despite coming from a small school. My point is if you got the traits to be a good qb they will translate to the NFL.
  12. It's really no different than the caliber teams tre lance and carson wentz(both ND state)played for and against. Josh allen as well... let's not forget Liberty with Willis did beat Virginia Tech
  13. Of course it's secondary. A quarterbacks first job Is to distribute the football. I know people think you can throw your way out of every situation but just like how you can't run out of every situation you can't throw out if every situation either. That's why it's a prefer bonus. Teams are taking notice. Mobility really isn't just optional anymore and it's reflected by the quarterbacks coming out.
  14. I mean I guess you guys will see.. I don't think he'd nearly as bad a passer as 90% of this board thinks. If you think the competition he played with wasn't good enough to get a accurate judgment on his ability then the same should be said of his offensive line and wrs.. they could have held him back just like wyoming did Josh allen. He's not getting out of the top 10....
  15. Production matters... nobody is saying runn and can't throw... but if the play simply isn't there and it's man to man defense he gives you a numbers advantage and opens up the offense. That's why mobility matters. I'm not sure why you guys just don't get it. Look around the league almost every single passer has some kind of decent mobility at this point beside Brady. With the retirement of big Ben the age of the statue is just over...
  16. Well we have the senior bowl game as reference those guys were his peers many of them first rounders 2... he took off on them and broke what a 30 yarder? He looked just as fast and probably better because he had equal talent around him.
  17. I mean there are variables like angles and pads so on. We don't know for sure how fast army LB is. But also 40 yards doesn't mean you have long speed. He could reach his max speed very fast but have no gear after that. While some people build up speed over distsnce,Willis could be just a burst guy.
