  1. well lets dive into it. currently we aren't paying anyone really. moton is taking up the most cap. half of what hes costing would go back into burns and with cap increase why cant you afford him if hes one of your few spending points? Cap space isnt really a issue tight now. you can still spend on players and build around. we dont have any significant players under contract we cant save and move stuff around on.
  2. Warein the perfect position to pay anyone because we dont have any star or qb under contract long term. We are in the bottom of the league as far as talent so paying burns wouldnt stop you from having additional cap for whatever else you were planning on doing. Cap isnt really a issue right now.
  3. Pass rushers who are elite demand top dollar. If a guy gets double digit sacks every year i think thats the bar for elite? that commands top dollar does it not?
  4. I'm not disagreeing with your logic. I'm saying the 30 million isn't something we cant afford. My argument is we dont have a lot of money tied up anywhere. paying burns would be easy right now because we dont have any superstars or pro bowlers. we dont have 500 million tied up in a qb like say the Bengals or chiefs. The cap is also rising significantly so 30 million today would look like a deal tomorrow. and i doubt burns commands what bosa did maybe 25-28 mil.
  5. We arent paying currently. youngs nexr contract is years away if he is successful. This team has planned for years to sign burns so cap for that isnt the issue. Brown has been good this year but is he a pro bowler more valuable than burns? idk. and even his contract shouldn't be to bad. Brown doesn't have the stats to command top dt money. If you want draft capital now thats a different conversation. but cap shouldnt stop you from signing burns when you have no one under significant contracts. I mean look at the saints..
  6. This team wasn't in on tight ends it seems. we didnt even look their way before we traded they wanted to take another guard in the second. and then in the 3rd they passed on Washington for DJ Johnson who isnt even getting a jersey.
  7. I mean thats fine to say. It could also be said he was at his best with reddick across from him to take some of the double teams away. That doesnt exist now. As far as Pass rusher pure speed pass rushers I would say hes top 3. He lacks a power move but being elite at anything is better than the panthers have right now.
  8. No we have plenty of cap space. we just being cheap who do we have thats under a big contract? moton? we arent paying anyone that is making money and our qb is on a rookie deal.
  9. your the idiot that was going to give up a pro bowler on a rental for 1 year because they didnt have a damn first round pick.
  10. Again everybody loves picks until they turn into bad players. Jayce was a first... so was ickey.. the jury still out on them but, Burns is young... He was a foundational piece the team could build around. the guy instead of holding out for a contract like bosa he showed up to help the team anyway. I have never seen that. He didnt get a sack today but the one gross got is because burns forced him up in the pocket. he has what 3.5 sacks hes fine.. well on his way to double digit sacks.
  11. They didnt have a first last year they traded it to the Detroit for Stafford.
  12. Agreed. I'm just saying we would look a lot better with him than whatever we have now and we got fleeced it looks like. Not even a first? for a dominate talent who is carrying their offense single handedly... A generational talent? As bad as we would have been with CMC he would be doing better than miles and chubba im sure..
  13. and would have pocketed what for burns? another second last year... the rams who are winning 2nd which could be in the 20s? and still have to replace him with a equal or better player.
  14. Everybody loves picks until they turn into BAD players. look how that turned out with CMC oh you got a boatload of picks... all turned out bad. Meanwhile hes scoring 3-4 touchdowns leading the NFL. you trade a boat load of first round picks and Wr proven for bryce when you could have given up less to move up to 2 or 3 or 4 and gotten richardson or stroud all better than bryce currently. Thats the real problem here.
  15. we would be just as screwed without him as we are now.
  16. lol and what were we going to do with a 2nd? another mingo? marshall? gross matos? first round is the only thing we have done. Right. and Burns is one of the few most recently it seems. Icky regressing and Horn looks worse than Surtain to say the least. you want to risk them drafting a. upgrade over burns with a 2nd?
  17. People dont drink the sand because they are thirsty they do it because they dont know any better. You were going to trade away a pro bowler to a team that didnt have a first round pick til this up and coming season. so nothing in return for 2 years... thats stupid.
  18. Rams didnt even have a first round pick last year. you were going to give up a pro bowler for this years first and next? like here you can have him for a year free.
  19. You would be wrong. Theres a reason the rams were willing to give up 2 first round picks for a one panthers player. because players that average 10 sacks a game dont grow on trees. You dont get better by trading away one of the few working pieces. You want picks trade away other assets horn.. brown, icky.
  20. this is bad logic. What are you gaining from trading him? At worse hes someonr the defense has to account for and its harder to find pass rushers than other postions outside qb. then you have to draft another one and hope hes a pro bowler.
  21. I mean AR issues can be fixed i believe. they letting him run uncontested without sliding. hes barrelling around and clearly his isnt cam as fad as durability. but hes faster. he had a lot og his traits. I would be pleased with him right now.
