I think hes worth atleast a first. The problem with 2 first is that 1 of those picks has to go into replacing him. you wont get both picks the same year. the other 2 probably go into trading up for a qb. I dont love this qb class. I feel sitting ar 8-10 levis or stroud will be there at worse case AR-15. Trading a young pro bowler who has proven he can get 12 sacks a year and still getting better for a unknown commodity is a risk. 2 first and a second is a bounty i get it. On paper it is definitely the winning side but its also a risk.

you can do that without losing the second most important position in the game. you got a haul for CMC your already picking top 10. should be very doable.

He isnt a run stopper. He isnt even really a defense end. your comparing him to guys who are 270-280. hes honestly a 3-4 edge and thats what he projected to be. is that his fault you use him at end to stop the run? no. athleticism is always valuable. 1 trick or not its a damn good trick. Maybe there are 20 guys in the league with double digit sacks but thats 20 out of 32 teams including defensive tackles thats rare

This Burns should have been traded crap is nonsense to me. first off guy isnt 25 yet. Guys that can get you 10 sacks a year dont grow on trees. those that do demand a high price. Look at how Reddick was out of our price range after his double digit season here. Second yes hes a one dimensional speed rusher. If the spin or speed rush doesnt work he doesnt have a good bull rush. Yet he is Long long arms great elite flexibilty and 4.5 speed at the edge which is rare. not to many qbs running away from burns. if a qb breaks outside the pocket i know my edge can chase him down. And hes fast enough to play in coverage if needed. If u do accept that trade you not getting a pick this year. and Alteast one of those picks is going to replace him and you have to hope he is as good a pass rusher. What if you miss? you stuck trying to find a guy who can put pressure on the edge which to me defeats the purpose of trading him in the first place. If the rams thought he was worth 2 first and a second that shows you how valued he is by other teams. Stop looking at the league with panther colored goggles and look at what the league sees.

I think wilks is a fine coach. He's not a bad choice for the next head coach at all. The guy was making wine out of shyt. I mean this team was dead last with rhule at the helm and he made us playoff contenders. Thats without his own coaching staff or players or qb. Do i want him back next year...IDK i had my heart set on some offensive guru. im sick of struggling to put up points and pouring entire draft classes into a defense that inevitably fails. I think I want to go with the Chargers model at this point.

is he currently? was he last year? is he in the top 10 of anything? like what does that mean? Josh Norman was a pro bowler at one point in time as well.

Nobody is saying hes excellent against the run which PFF clearly accounts for. But that doesnt take away from what we are paying him to do and thats rush the passer. He's clearly a top 10 threat at that positions as a pass rusher so thats why hes getting paid.

Because what you aren't acounting for is the cap goes up every year. the next contract will be bigger than the one before. If there is more money the next pro bowler gonna wanna be paid higher than the guy who last got the deal. Garrett will get a bigger deal if they signed on the same day but it doesnt work that way. Yes it matters where they are drafted because of a variety of factors. Say the year Burns came out that was an extremely good year for pass rusher. you had Bosa, Josh Allen, Farrell, rashawn Gary and then Burns followed by Sweat at 26. That class of pass rushers is very rare some years you might get 2 first round ends. so where your picking matters if your gonna land those type of talents.

At this point hes the face of the defense if not the team. He's young, on his way to a second pro bowl, that Spider-Man thing is highly marketable and hes arguably the heart and soul of the D. He clearly cares and does more good than bad by a good margin to me.

Those guys are 1 in a generation type players. Garrett went what number. bosa went what 1-2? your not gonna get those guys without giving up a considerable investment. However, we were lucky to snag Burns at 15. he has clearly out played his draft position. Your talking about 3 premium picks that aren't sure to be at 15 which is where u got burns and you dont know who you be getting. Rams didnt give up this years first dont think they have one so u on hold another year to replace Burns. your drafting another pass rusher and hoping hes as good. your worried about paying people but hell who are we paying? we dont have a franchises qb and most our core guys are on rookie deals. at some point u have to pay someone.

No. Most important position is Quarterback. second most important position is getting to the quarterback. which is why those 2 are the highest paid positions in the league. not paying burns or trading him puts you on the hamster wheel of hoping you draft a guy as good or better than him with 1 of those picks in a year you dont know if there are going to be any good pass rushers. you back at square 1 there and still looking for a qb like we are now. Trading Burns wouldnt have helped as much people like to make it seem. you create another hole before you patch the first one.

amazing how much hate Burns gets around here. and yet Derrick Brown while improved this season is still looking not worth the pick we drafted him at.

Not gonna be a Pro Bowler every game. win some loss some. some guys have a skillset that just counters your own. If this was every week then we would have a problem.
