  1. Big fan of these 3! Tahj Brooks runs like a sledgehammer, Zy Alexander is yet another in a long line of LSU DBs, and Malachi Moore's College Gameday story made me an even bigger fan.
  2. I liked him at Bama and love his scheme versatility. He's quick enough to play in a zone scheme but also gets enough drive to work power. Really high on his ability to recognize blitzes and stunts (that latter one being a sore spot for Panthers' fans the last cpl of seasons T_T) Oooh, I haven't checked out LeQuint Allen at all and I've still gotta watch Tyleik Williams. Might try and sneak in some of them in today when I hit this three hour stretch of meetings @ 1pm...
  3. Keeping me honest, I appreciate that... but I haven't scouted LS nor P so I'm taking the coward's way out and grouping them all as special teams! ST: Andres Borregales, K, Miami Borregales is also the only ST player I've scouted... was interested after he worked with Coach Bates at the Senior Bowl.
  4. Yea, the team has sucked for the last 5yrs but pretending that it has been all the same people doing the same thing is just being a miserable doomer. It's the offseason! You don't need to convince yourself that everything is the same forever and always. It's okay to have fun and be excited right now. We've got ~6mo before we get to be hurt again.
  5. If I had to pick a favorite from each position group, mine would be: QB: Kyle McCord (Syracuse) RB: Cam Skatteboo (Arizona State) WR: Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State) TE: Tyler Warren (Penn State) OT: Will Campbell (LSU) OG: Donovan Jackson (Ohio State) OC: Seth McLaughlin (Ohio State) EDGE: Donovan Ezeiruaku (Boston College) DL: Derrick Harmon (Oregon) LB: Jalon Walker (Georgia) CB: Dorian Strong (Virginia Tech) S: Malaki Starks (Georgia) If I had to put together a top 5 for prospects I enjoyed scouting the most, they'd be (in no particular order): Donovan Ezeiruaku, Tyler Warren, Dorian Strong, Malaki Starks, and Jalon Walker. If I hadn't watched Starks' 2023 + 2022 film as well, I'd probably swap him for Egbuka. Who have y'all enjoyed scouting?
  6. Only two players tagged at the deadline... lowest since '94 (Trey Smith w/ KC & Tee w/ CIN) Osa got paid by Dallas. Bears trading a 2026 4th to the Chiefs for Joe Thuney and a 2025 6th to the Rams for Jonah Jackson. Looks like Ben Johnson is following the model set by the Panthers' last season...
  7. Medicals just got leaked DAWG
  8. Battling against possible new OT1 of the draft, Armand Membou. DAWG
  9. Greg Olsen went in the first. You said outright you don't draft one in the first. That one is on you, sport.
  10. Great player... but idk... still a little gun shy after Diontae Johnson. I also think he's chasing a ring and would consider a more immediate contender.
  11. The fact that you wouldn't draft Greg Olsen because Kevin Kolb was still available is hurting your argument more than you think that it is helping.
  12. So you would NEVER draft a TE in the first round? Under no circumstances? You would always take a less touted prospect so long as they were at a position you found to be more important?
  13. I am here for any and all Donovan Ezeiruaku propaganda. Dude's tape was even more fun than Tyler Warren's to watch.
  14. What does a TE have to do in your eyes to be worth being drafted at #8? Or is there nothing? Hell Mode Challenge: Try and communicate it without being an asshole.
  15. TJ Hockenson was drafted #8 in 2019 and has been a two-time Pro Bowler (2020, 2022). He was a John Mackey award recipient and named first team All-American and first team-Big 10. Combine results: 6'5", 251lbs, 32.25" arms, 9.5" hands, 4.7sec 40yd dash (1.59sec 10yd split), 37.5" vertical, 10'3" broad jump, 7.02sec 3-cone drill, 4.18sec 20yd shuttle, 17 reps on the bench. Brock Bowers was drafted #13 and made the Pro Bowl, was named first team All-Pro, and was named to the 2024 PFWA All-Rookie Team. He was also first team All-American, first team all-SEC, and John Mackey award recipient. Pro day results: 6'3", 243lbs, 32.75" arms, 9.75" hands, 4.53sec 40yd dash. Tyler Warren is a John Mackey award recipient, first team All-American, and first team all-Big10. He was also named the offensive MVP for the Fiesta Bowl. Combine results: 6'5.5", 256lbs, 31.75" arms, 9.5" hands. Pro day is scheduled for March 28th. He's currently slated as a top 15, possibly top 10 pick. I understand that some folks want the budget spreadsheet to read a certain way but games are won on the field, not in Excel. If they'd just try watching Warren's tape without any prejudice against his position or school, they'd see one of the best prospects in this draft.
  16. Certified DAWG. Don't pass up on a solid football player just because of their position... that's like passing up on a player because of their school (Ohio State QBs, anyone?). Would be very happy with the selection. The dude can block, he can catch, he can run folks over.
  17. No sir, he's one of the best prospects in this draft. If the team fills in the holes via free agency to set themselves up to take BPA he fits the bill. Was making the point that any of those guys would make the Panthers better, so no need to move up from #8 or wring our hands over missing out on somebody. Plenty of quality talent will be there at #8 (or in the middle of the round if the team trades back... )
  18. Even if no offensive players are taken, that means that half of the guys listed below will still be on the board: Travis Hunter Abdul Carter Mason Graham Jalon Walker Tyler Warren Malaki Starks Jahdae Barron Donovan Ezeiruaku Will Johnson Mike Green Jihad Campbell Will Johnson Mykel Williams James Pearce Jr Colston Loveland Derrick Harmon And that's not including guys like Tet, Burden III, and others. Not a bad problem to have!
  19. Franchise tag deadline is today at 4pm. Legal tampering period begins in just 6 days. Free agency officially starts in 8 days. Very eager to see the moves that Morgan + Tilis make this offseason... reminds me of the excitement we had after the Wilks run; only this time, we'll actually be building on the success rather than re-routing the team in a different direction again. Could just pout and say that because Tepper's the owner that we're going to suffer still instead, but being a doomer is so easy and boring. Much more fun to experience joy and wonder than it is misery and disappointment.
  20. Upgrading our safeties will allow Jaycee Horn to go back to shadowing the other teams' opposing WR1 as opposed to having to shut down a third of the field sitting in cover-3 like we did most of last season. Fingers and toes crossed that Evero gets the talent to run his scheme effectively. Can't wait to see Jaycee being allowed to do what he does best again.
  21. If it makes you feel any better, center and safety are my two and I was pounding the table to take Tyler Linderbaum at #9. Glad the team took Icky instead, but ayy at least Linderbaum is already a stud on that Bmore OL. That clip of him baptizing Tristan Wirfs at a collegiate wrestling meet still lives in my head rent free.
  22. Reminder that the dude can already block, which a lot of the recent pass catching TEs were not (and have not been) able to do.
  23. Kind of wild too how we're seeing more 3-3-5 after pulling our hair out when Phil Snow was the DC. Said it in another thread, but it's a really good offseason for the Panthers to have the holes that they do. I think before DB went down that A'Shawn was the DL being pulled off of the field vs. 11 personnel. Get a better player than Tuttle to leave in next to DB and a guy to rotate in for Wonnum (assuming they're going to be leaning on DJ Johnson to back-up Clowney, for better or worse) and the DL looks much improved.
