I'm confused... this motivates Darnold how?
-
If season ended today which QB would you take.
Mage replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
The same people saying Bryce Young can't play in the NFL are probably the same people who said Devonta Smith couldn't hold up against NFL defenses. -
My man, you realize Moore's catch percentage was in the 60s his first 2 seasons, right? What #1 WR has Baker had that had a 60-70 catch rate? Darnold? Teddy? Heinicke? Allen?

Mahomes is unstoppable.

Steve Wilks Likely to Be 'Seriously Considered' for Panthers Full-Time HC
Mage replied to Vox's topic in Carolina Panthers
And what has he done to this point to earn that? We only have 6 games left. We look just as bad now as we did with Rhule last year. So again what are people seeing that makes them say hey lets keep Wilks? It makes no sense to me. -
And literally 2020 is the only season you could even say felt kind of good. At least there was some hope.

Here's my thing How can you possibly make sense of firing Ron Rivera but stick with Wilks full-time? What's the difference? Wilks is not turning this franchise around, let's be real. -
Wow so many bad teams.

Wilks is awful. And if he is trying to win games then he is even worse. How do you not pull Baker for Dirndl when Baker is literally doing nothing positive? -
PJ Walker is 10x the QB he is. How pathetic.

Jimmy Clausen > Baker Mayfield

I seriously doubt it. -
Yep. Titans are good every year because their coaching is great. No reason Panthers shouldn't have as much success if you are looking at the talent. Because Titans ain't all that.
-
Yep. Run the ball, take safe passes, and play great defense. No reason why we can't. We have more offensive talent than the Titans do. Although Henry is a different breed.
-
I'd be cool with the Panthers keeping Foreman and modeling their offense after the Titans with whatever rookie QB they draft.

Minshew is a free agent.

I actually think this is a good match-up for us, especially if Andrews isn't 100%. While Lamar Jackson is certainly the best runner at the QB position we've faced, we tend to do a good job keeping QBs in the pocket (that is where Brian Burns plays a role because he's able to keep contain better than others due to his athleticism). Murray only had 26 yards for 12 carries against us, by far his lowest YPC in a game this season. Overall QBs are averaging 3.1 yards per carry against us. Not sure about the status of Chinn but if he's back that would help a lot to, but even a guy like Hartsfield could play a role this week as a spy. Ravens passing game has sunken too. Lamar over his last 6 games is completing only 61% of his passes with 6 TDs and 4 INTs and a 80.5 QB Rating. I'm not saying we're going to win this game. But I'd be willing to bet a lot of money it won't be some kind of blow-out. Ravens are depleted at receiver and their best offensive player outside of Lamar is banged up, and they field one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.

I do want a QB However, Will Anderson would be an excellent consolation prize.
-
What exactly would make you think this has any legitimacy to it?

2008-2009. That offensive line was insanely good.

I usually agree with you on most things but you are talking wild right now bro. Burns can absolutely play 4-3 DE (as he has proven). He's the same build, size, and type of player that Jason Taylor was and I've said this since we drafted him. And Taylor is a HOF DE. Will Burns become a Hall of Famer? Probably not, its hard to reach that level. But Burns is 100% a 4-3 DE. Could he play 3-4 OLB sure but that is a big assumption considering he's never done full-time it in his entire career, college included.
