Umm yeah. That's what a normally sized QB that steps up into the pocket can do with this team. -
Shane Waldron called possibly one of the worst RZ sequences I've ever seen by a playcaller.
-
Meant to say Darnold lol.
-
Nix is starting to look a bit better today.
-
Dalton is seriously impressing this year with his maneuverability in the pocket. He still has a few bozo plays every now and again, but he's really looking refined.
-
Darnold!!
-
This haha. Hunt & Horn are the two only active players I would consider top-15 at their position. Oh and our punter lol.

At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

Not responding to anyone specifically but— I don’t see this as a super complicated scenario or something that happened too soon when we basically flipped this entire team for the kid. He somehow looked worse than last season after his first full offseason in the league. And Canales had more than 2 games, he was here the entire offseason. If they’re even somewhat decent at what they do, they saw this well before the games. There were rumors and reports at camp with how the offense looked, so this isn’t really a surprise to the coaches. If we were having this trouble against our own defense at practice, then the players knew before the games hit too. And if Bryce is regressing and performing at, both statistically and eye-test, one of the worst rates in the modern era, everyone sees it. There’s no sugar coating the situation. The players, coaches, ownership, fans ALL recognize it, nothing is changing, attitude isn’t changing, then yeah, bench him and be done with it.

The media is also completely ignoring we brought in Diontae. Still acting like we’ve done nothing. We just drafted a WR, RB, and TE in the top 100 and brought in a vet who’s hit 1,000 for a top organization. Overpaid to get a high end IOL. The people soldiering for Bryce in the media are absolutely clueless to what’s been going on.

NYT Cooking+The Athletic is worth it. Recommend it.

Albert Breer with top analysis of Bryce situation

That's also from Diana Russini who has her birds and is typically very careful with her weekly "what I'm hearing" stuff. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5783024/2024/09/21/jordan-love-justin-herbert-injury-updates-justin-fields-steelers-offense-bryce-young-benching/ -
Is this the real reason for Bryce's struggles?

I've always loved Kurt Warners stuff. Same with Chase Daniel when he's on the Athletic Football Show. Kurt had a great spiel the other day about how it's funny how many people will rush out to give commentary as soon as a Monday/Tuesday. When in reality, it genuinely takes time to go through the film and have thoughtful analysis. The coaches of said players can take up to 2-3 days after a game to even digest it. But oh, some kid with all-22 can figure it out within 8 hours of the game ending lol.

This Donnaly guy talks too much, what is he like radio host or something?
-
Yeah he’s talking about his job in the capacity someone should talk in respect to general life goals and perspective. Must be the psychologist in his dad slipping into his conscious. He’s also acting like he’s somehow not in control, but reality is if he wants to turn this around, he needs to look totally in control, ready to figure out how to be in control of this team, the game at hand, his future. He doesn’t seem to be wanting to grab this by the balls and do something

If I hear how sweet of a good young man this kid is one more time lol This is getting tiring. He is boring, his play is boring, he has like no energy, disguised as poise. Just don’t see an NFL QB and I’m going to be relieved when we’re on to our next bust.

Not much else. He was being very appropriate and diplomatic given the circumstances so what he said in respect to what eventually went down I find a non-story.
