  1. I'm still a Bryce stan. I think coaching was the biggest issue in week one. Bryce was bad, but coaching made him look worse. I reserve the right to change my opinion next week, but this week the whole fuging team is an issue - and that comes down to the coaches.
  2. Allow me to be the only homer here. That game was bad. BY was bad. But I feel like a lot of the source behind that comes down to coaching. BY and the team look horribly unprepared to play live NFL reps together. Tempo, rhythm, and feel just wasn't there across the board all day. That's not just Bryce's fault, but how the team is prepared overall, which comes down to the coaches. Enough has been said about starters in the preseason that we can understand what might be going wrong. Bryce still hasn't proven what type of QB he is yet. The bounce back from benching is worth remembering because there was some genuinely dope play during that run. At this point, I think he's Jekyll and Hyde, and a lot of that comes down to his mental game. Again, this is a coaching thing, but if he can't get past the nerves and the pressure, he's done for sure...but if he can tighten up, and the team can tighten up around him to at least provide a solid foundation, we could end up looking past all of this. It's week one, and a big week one considering the lack of play time together. It's not uncommon for a QB to struggle in his third year, so I'm not writing him off yet.
  3. I think he was trying to give XL a chance at it in the corner and XL sort of got stopped off his route. He had a defender coming down into his face too which is sort of why he stopped and threw awkwardly. Still, agree it was a jittery play by BY and I'm sure he'd like that on eback.
  4. His presser sucked. If he's going to keep this up he needs to at least start being a little more interesting. At least be a bit vulnerable man, we're all living this dumpster fire of a QB journey with you bro! Still, I haven't written Bryce off yet. I blame a lot of last week on coaching, but he's got to show this next week. If he comes out just as flat as he did for the Jags - then I'll start worrying.
  5. There's no reason to defend Bryce given its his third year in the league. We've already given him grace on two seasons. If he isn't the guy that's holding the offense together than he isn't the guy. I agree he didn't look as bad as the fanbase says he was; but he doesn't deserve us defending him either. I'm a Bryce homer too, I think he'll bounce back, but if he's going to be Jekyll and Hyde as QB, then that's where the ceiling is on the team too. Worst part about this is that we know Bryce's mental is already fragile. Canales needs to find a way to keep him focused and get out of this funk or otherwise it's going to be a very long season.
