Well, let’s say you have a strong belief that we are completely wasting our time. Wouldn’t it be maybe expeditious for the situation to come to a conclusion sooner than later? Well we don’t have too many bandwagon casuals any more, other than a few Bryce Bama imports, as opposed to the successful team we had the. Which generates more attention. You were gonna get more bullshit in Cam’s day just based off of the popularity and bandwagon casuals swelling the numbers.

IMO this is a totally two way street, and it is not based on Bryce at all, it is aimed at the people that have been irritating in one way or another. There were long stretches where if you questioned Bryce you are getting attacked by a group of people. As a non believer, even posing a question about the velocity of the passes, like was that gonna work? The limitations that might be placed on the offense, you don’t have to make sensational claims you got poo if you questioned the narrative. I know I did and it pissed me off pretty good a some people. It is t necessarily Bryce hate at all. They still put digs in posts so don’t make out like it is only one direction. Why would anyone make it personal with a player, unless they are some goof like Robbie Anderson? it is not that. Now do I hate watching him play bad football for my favorite team? Most of the time over the last 2.5 years, yeah. I don’t like it. There has been plenty not to like. With some decent to very good mixed in with it. That kind of is what it is, and what he makes it.

For some reason I thought the bargain basement underdog QB looked better not operating an offense than the insanely expensive super computer point guard not operating an offense. Excluding a few games.. It is an expectations thing.

Why someone would leave a steaming pile on this post, I just don’t get. This is pretty mainstream thinking here.

I was on the old Charlotte.com board and a lot of people here had been on there. I looked at this board and probably made a couple of posts here and there but mostly lurked. Peoples’ perceptions of a thing sure can vary. What I remember isn’t that different from today, but you have to take into account the years of uninterrupted misery people have endured.. it sours you. So stuff is a little more volatile now, we were in a much better place as a team back then. Down years not down decades. People were happier.

GWD is a one dimensional stat. There is no counter stat that I am aware of to make it 2D. It is an attempt to quantify the things that help you decide whether you want the ball in a certain QB’s hand down 4 with 4 minutes or so. Or not. As far as a counterpart to the GWD stat, like, call it GLD. The infamous XL Philly drop, was 2nd down and there were two more missed opportunities. So going by the criteria applied to calculate a GWD, wouldn’t that be a GLD? And guess who wears that - same as he wears a GWD where a RB broke a defense on a drive. And the QB gets credit. Rules have to be applied equally right? It just seems like the GWD stat is a mini W-L when you get down to it. So Young’s record as a starter is 10-30, his record in GWD-GLD according to the OP is 8 GWD, I don’t know how many GLD but wouldn’t you think there be examples inside those 30 losses? Is it 8-30? 8-20? How do you assess that?

I have seen Hunt get abused a couple of plays. I was pretty surprised that a guy making 100 million was getting pushed around. I know he is a good player but Lewis is the value.

Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one. I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched. I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him. I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.

That is fair, but it makes me long for a statistic for everything that did happen before that, that set that whole last drive up to be the deciding score. And fwiw (and I am not looking it up), but how many times was there a chance or two to close the gap and set up a game winning drive, except that didn’t happen? Or stalling and falling short? You do have to keep it close for those scenarios.. but do they factor too? And how do you weight it? Anyway, on the Jake thing. Putting Bryce on a level with Jake is all kinds of messed up. Jake smoked it his first game for the team. All the way to the Super Bowl. Everybody loved him and for good reason. Total opposite of Bryce’s arc. Totally different situation. Jake was a low rent FA gamble that seriously paid off, and immediately. Again, polar opposite. Crazy overpay, and we still don’t know if he is going to pay off. Bryce needs to be evaluated without trying to compare eras. And the yardage… what does 200 yards a game x 16 come to? Add another 200 for game 17 for Jake or pull it off of Bryce. It isn’t that different if we play the style of game that we did in his successful game and a half here lately. Of course he gets to play and compile, and that is fluid atp so just saying.

I am in the middle of catching up and got this far. I can’t let it pass. So quickly…. 25yards is just not true. People question his arm strength, I do, but 25 yards? Come on man. That’s just bullshit.

Flip side is also true.

People write novellas trying to convince people of their biased opinions in favor of iil man but someone does a rebuttal and it is a bad fanning. Okay. I liken it to when a law firm goes up against a bigger law firm and the discovery documents and evidence shows up on a forklift at the little law office. It is hoping the other side will just give up because it is too exhausting to fight it The thing is he for real was not impressive at all in some games that we won and some are included here. That NYG Europe game for instance. So tiresome. It mostly is just a bunch of lobbying. He is on the backstretch rounding the turn heading into the home stretch. The back 9 on the final day unless you think it should take more than three years to assess. I think we are going to see things that make all these 2000 word essays moot. Then we will see. Just like WR, you thin it out and then suffer an injury and you are scrambling. Any RB could have run through some of those those holes though and maybe you don’t get the same xtra yards but you are getting yardage. It is the pass catching they will miss the most.

Without Sanders, they are stil catching balls. Sanders is about a giveaway to it will be a pass play. Also, hoping we see the competition at RB keep both guys on their toes.
