  1. Word is that Rhule wanted to trade back last year and Fitterer comes from an organization that routinely trades back to get more picks. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if we're going putting out the word that once we're on the clock, hit us up with your offers because we're not married to making a pick at #8.
  2. We signed Teddy to a pretty significant contract and cut bait after one year. I don't think we're at all married to Darnold. If he sucks we'll go fishing again pronto.
  3. I would LOVE a trade down opportunity that netted an additional 1st next year. We bet on Darnold. Fine. But we need to hedge that bet. Heavily. If we aren't taking a QB at #8, trade back and try to net an additional #1 next year to put ourselves in better position to make a move on a guy like Sam Howell or Spencer Rattler next year if Darnold doesn't work out - which let's be honest, history indicates that's pretty likely. Even doing that, I still wouldn't be surprised to see us take a guy like Davis Mills or Kellen Mond if they're there in the 3rd. QB is just THAT important. You have to keep swinging until you find one. If you end up with more than one, even better. Flip one for additional assets down the road.
  4. I've been saying for quite some time that if we aren't taking a QB at #8 then we should at least answer the phone and listen if it's ringing.
  5. Yeah, when they told me what they wanted I told my agent to just write it up. It was more than I wanted to pay bit it was also more house than I was looking to buy. There was nothing else on the market that fit what I was looking for. I should add that the place up the road I mentioned earlier is under contract for $150k more than I paid. I'm glad we got this deal done but the sellers are probably kicking themselves. They could've definitely got more. Maybe a lot more. I'll be buying the beers every time we cross paths in town.
  6. It's so stupid. I was really fortunate that I A) knew the sellers B) knew the seller's agent C) my agent and their agent worked in the same office and D) the sellers really didn't want to deal with showings and wanted an easy close. I could make that happen. Had they gone to market with this place I would've likely bowed out pretty quickly. The place next down the road from mine went on the market last week. More acreage, similar house size, but a much older home. It was under contract in under 12 hours at $25k over list full cash offer. The buyers submitted the offer sight unseen. They didn't step foot on the property until they were already under contract with what I hear was pretty substantial earnest money down. Crazy.
  7. Hell, if it did I'd make Tom Brady and Joe Montana look like waterboys. LOL!
  8. Shaq is paid to be All-Pro caliber though. That's my problem. It's less with the player and more with the contract. It's double what it should've been. Which honestly is typical for a Hurney "re-sign a vet" contract.
  9. Shaq is a decent starting LB. Nothing more, nothing less. Why we paid him like a top tier LB always baffled me.
  10. Starting to feel like home! Gotta trim some branches but got the flags flying!
  11. I LOVED that guy leading up to that draft. It's unfortunate he's been so derailed by injuries. I'd still be willing to give him a try on a prove it deal with very low to no guaranteed money.
  12. Panthers fans gnash their teeth over the cap while the Saints just keep signing guys when they're damn near nine figures over the cap. LOL!
  13. Nice. That probably closes the door on Short coming back. I'm not so certain he won't just retire after seeing his market value. His body is shot and he's probably not worth much more than vet min. He should have plenty of money in the bank. Not sure he'll be willing to play for what teams are willing to pay unless he wants to try to get a ring from the bench.
  14. You can pay tackles if you draft interior OL. Pay tackles. Draft IOL. I would never pay an IOL big money.
  15. There will never be anything close to a resolution in a case like this. It's going to be 98% he said/she said with each side spiking the football over every minute piece of actual factual evidence they can produce to spin in a way as to support their side of the story. It's going to be a mess and that's why we moved on from what was basically our plan A, B, and C. We were all in on Watson.
  16. I felt bad for KB up until he tried to trash Cam and throw him under the bus acting like his QB situation was what was holding him back as a WR. Well, we all saw what happened with his career after he parted ways with Cam. I don't think Cam has ever said a negative word about KB publicly to this day. Just sucked to see the relationship unravel between two guys who seemed very close and it seemed unnecessary and driven by KB's immaturity.
  17. He's been putting up top 10 WR numbers with poor QB play. Some of y'all are still in this mindset that if a guy isn't arguably THE best WR in the NFL, then he's not a #1 WR. The "#1 WR" might be the most mythological beast on this board.
  18. Yep, DJ Moore is easily our most underrated player.
  19. Davis Mills would be the one I'd be most willing to give a shot. I think we may have interest in Kellen Mond because Rhule recruited him hard at Baylor. Personally I'm not high at all on Mond. Intriguing physical talent, but he's wildly inconsistent and doesn't play to his talent level even when he's "on" IMO.
  20. I've been buying and selling on the swings. Sold Friday at +500%. Bought in again yesterday.
  21. Added a new pup to the household today. Little female pittie mix. 8 weeks old. Her mom was chained up outside a trailer and neglected in McDowell County and a neighbor basically stole her to take her to a rescue.
  22. I remember liking him as a draft prospect. Haven't paid any attention since then, but hopefully he'll do well for us.
  23. That bonus money is a sunk cost. Paying him his $17M base salary to be the backup would be by far the most idiotic option available.
  24. At this point I'd be surprised to see him moved prior to the draft. If that was going to happen I think it already would have. Maybe a team that strikes out in the draft will make a move for Teddy or maybe a team that drafts a Kellen Mond/Davis Mills level QB prospect will make a move for Teddy as a stop gap wet nurse. FWIW, I think we might be a team that drafts a Kellen Mond/Davis Mills level QB prospect.
