  1. It's definitely inconsistent watching you all of a sudden act like you haven't been stumping for enormously wealthy and powerful people with half the posts you make on this forum.
  2. This has been a great thread. Can we maybe migrate all this other stuff to the "allegations" thread and keep this one more focused on talk of a potential trade?
  3. Folks, we aren't going back to the days when this forum was endless threads of constant race baiting. Consider this a warning to all.
  4. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/18/second-lawsuit-filed-lawyer-claims-six-total-claims-are-coming-against-deshaun-watson/ To say nothing about the veracity of the claims by the women involved, for or a guy who claims to not be doing it for the attention, this ambulance chaser sure is doing a LOT of talking about himself and his accomplishments. For a guy who claims to not be doing it for the money, it'll be interesting to see what happens with any of his payouts if there ends up being any money collected in these suits. Spoiler alert: they'll end up in his bank account.
  5. Glad Curtis got paid. We all knew he was most certainly gone. We can't afford to pay a #3 WR like that with the holes we have on the roster.
  6. I imagine things are pretty much stalled until there's some clarity to this situation.
  7. Certainly convenient timing and the lawyer behind it is a McNair family friend and neighbor. If Watson and his crew can prove the McNair's are behind it, Watson may be off the table because he might be the new owner of the Houston Texans by the time this is over. LOL!
  8. This desperately needs context. The Texans had a dominant D pre-Watson. Texans defensive ranking by year: 2013 - 7th 2014 - 16th 2015 - 3rd 2016 - 1st 2017 - 20th 2018 - 12th (11-5) 2019 - 28th 2020 - 30th The average ranking in the four years prior to Watson was 6.75. The average ranking in Watson's four years was 22.5.
  9. I'd take a conditional 7th next year just to unload his contract.
  10. Maybe. With some young elite defenders, good offensive weapons, and a focus on the OL I definitely do not rule out competing for a SB within that timeframe if we add an MVP caliber QB.
  11. The irony here is that was the Texans pre-Watson. They had a GREAT defense and were a QB away. It just took them a little too long to get their QB and they missed their window. I want to trade for Watson but I want Burns, Brown, and Chinn off the table.
  12. The Bucs were 5-11, 5-11, and 7-9 over their last three years. Turned out they actually WERE a QB away from competing for a championship and in case you haven't been paying attention, the Saints' QB just retired.
  13. As good as Watson is, I think if I was in their position I'd do the same. Yeah you're rolling the dice on a talented rookie panning out and plenty don't but you're also retaining a boatload of draft equity that would otherwise be headed to Houston.
  14. The writing has been on the wall for months. Some people have just performed Olympics level mental gymanstics to deny it.
  15. You think the Bears didn't make the same or similar offer for Watson? I doubt it. I can't see being seriously interested in Wilson and not being at least as interested in a similarly elite QB seven years younger.
  16. Utterly delusional. It's factually true that Tepper retained Hurney for two years after acquiring the team.
  17. Just imagine being this cocky about the management of a team with an overall losing record.
  18. I'm absolutely fine with Watson being Plan A, but I sure hope we aren't putting all of our eggs in that basket.
  19. I hope that is juicy because that's as click baity as headlines get.
