Von Miller hasn't looked like Von Miller in awhile. I think he's done as a top tier edge rusher. Still a nice player to have, but no longer the cornerstone of a defense.
-
Yeah, I'm not seeing that. This isn't 2015 anymore. Denver's defense is pretty run of the mill. You're not hanging with Mahomes and that howitzer of an offense in KC with Teddy and his pop gun.
-
Hey, works for me as a Heels fan! But I just don't see it. He was missing his #1 WR and both RBs in the bowl game against the #1 D in the SEC facing a team with zero opt-outs looking to prove they were snubbed from the playoffs and he still looked like Sam Howell. Even at the NFL level, you just don't see many guys who can throw the deep ball like he can.

5 QBs in the top 15? Nah. No way. Next year's class is Howell and Rattler then a massive drop off absent someone making a Burrow-esque rise.

Luke Kuechly has resigned from the Panthers scouting staff
LinvilleGorge replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
We thought Jarrett was more awesome since he was our first pick in the 2nd. Either way, we didn't get a chance to draft Beck. He was already off the board. He would've been a typical Hurney 2nd rounder. At least he was a helluva nice guy. -
If he was going to be the pick and then we were going to trade back up for Marshall, then why did Marshall ultimately end up being the pick? That doesn't make any sense.

Wow. That's crazy. My house is in the South Mountains about 25 minutes from the park. Hell, it's a pretty obscure little state park. I'm surprised he even knew about it. Back in the day I was really hoping we were gonna draft BYU QB Jon Beck. He's a big trout fishermen and we had an agreement that I was gonna take him out to some of the NC's best spots (that I'd already warned him we're gonna suck vs. everything out west). I didn't think he was serious until he called me out of the blue a few weeks after Miami drafted him to apologize for the Dolphins screwing up our plans. LOL! -
Another opinion on our draft from Dator

Honestly, not excited about the Horn pick but overall it looks pretty damn good. Like last year, so much hinges on an uninspiring move at QB working out. -
Panthers interviewing Morgan, others for Assistant GM job

Well, if it's all already been poached then I'll definitely pass on this guy. -

Give me Dan Morgan, please. God, I loved that guy as a player. Absolute wrecking ball of a LB. That's pretty much what prematurely ended his career too, but like a wild brawling fighter with no pretense of defensive responsibility, you know it's not gonna last but sure is fun to watch for as long as it does. -

Probably headed to Washington or Buffalo like everyone else. -
Relative Athletic Score for all drafted players
LinvilleGorge replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'll take undersized with ideal athleticism all day everyday over the guy who everyone drools over his Inspector Gadget arms but who can't actually move. -
Sounds like he has a ton of potential? Wonder why he dropped? Here's to hoping he pans out.

Bears Release Starting LT Charles Leno
LinvilleGorge replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
Probably. But we signed Erving to compete at LT first and foremost. He's going to have to get best out there to end up playing somewhere else. -

If we had a crystal ball that this would've happened I wonder if we would've signed Cam Erving? -
Brady Christensen vs Bucs 1st rd pick Joe Tryon

If you just change your signature to: "I have no opinion to offer, but I think yours sucks" then you'll never have to type again. -

That could either be awesome (he's good AND ready to go) or uh oh (everyone else just plain sucks). -
I'm just hoping for boom or bust. Either be the one or be the one who gets us the one.

It probably seems worse than it really is for Panthers fans because Skye is one of the worst XP kickers in the league, then again his sample size is among the lowest too since we can't score TDs.
-
Yep.
-
Well, I mean XPs went from 19 yards to 32 yards. Still a high percentage kick, but not the total gimme it used to be. It used to be 99% plus. Since the change, it's hovering in the 93-94% range.
-
Misperception. FG make percentage has been trending upward despite the distances also trending upward. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/NFL/kicking.htm

I get that Skye is intriguing because of his huge leg, but the guy has always been wildly inconsistent. I just don't see that getting any better.
