Yep, pretty much. I don't know how anyone didn't see what was going on when he showed up to the Combine and hid underneath that hoodie and backpack all weekend. I guarantee you he'd been chowing down at the buffet as hard as he could and came in chubby to weigh in as heavy as possible.

Where does Bryce rank as a draft bust?

The Raiders earned that pick fair and square. They didn't trade up to #1. -

Me too. I just want us to move on from Bryce. I don't need to beat him down in the process. It sucks to watch someone who seems like a legitimately decent guy being publicly humiliated but it is what it is.

Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining.

Tepper's Panthers in a nutshell. Lots of big talk, lots of getting embarrassed on the field. We've churned through GMs, coaches, and QBs. It's very obvious what the problem is and unfortunately it's the one problem that can't be fixed. Tepper ruined it. We used to long to consistently good because we couldn't put together winning seasons, but now we view those years of being sporadically good as the good old days. -
It just sucks all the way around. It sucks for us that Bryce ain't it and it sucks for him to get a chance to live out his dream just to realize he's simply not good enough. That's what you're watching. A young man coming to grips with that reality. At least he put millions of dollars in the bank in the process.

There's no future with either one of them. IMO, soon it's going to come down to proving to your locker room you're willing to try something and playing the QB that best allows you to evaluate your receivers.
-
I think Dalton will suck too. But at some point you lose your locker room when you keep trotting out trash at QB. You just lose your credibility to hold guys accountable.
-
We benched him after two games last year. If he looks like that again next week you gotta do it again. Probably at halftime.
-
You're not wrong. Hindsight being 20/20 they should've cut the cord then.
-
It's called padding stats against soft zone in late game situations trailing by multiple scores. The D isn't trying to stifle you anymore, they're just trying to avoid giving up big plays.
-
Offense is just really hard to come by when the opposing defense knows that you can't stretch the field because your QB is incapable of it. We saw the same thing with Campaign after his shoulder injuries and Cam was nowhere near as overall physically limited as Bryce even with a trashed throwing shoulder.
-
My only concern here is that if you do this I think you're also having to commit to a full reset again. Canales will lose the locker room sticking with Bryce.
-
And it honestly should've been 120ish yards with 4 turnovers including a pick six without the bailout flag.

If he was a rookie, sure. But this is year three and he looked as trashy as ever.

Officially time to end the Bryce experiment?
LinvilleGorge replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
At some point you gotta give up on Bryce and shift your attention to evaluating guys like XL and Sanders. It's hard to evaluate guys when the QB play is this trash. Hell, it makes me think T-Mac might be all world with a real QB. -
Oh good grief. Sanders was wide open when he threw it away on 4th down. There was an easy lane to jog to the sticks on his first INT. Stop making excuses for this guy.
-
This. Bryce basically turns the entire field into the redzone. The redzone is easier to defend because there's simply less field to defend. Well, with Bryce throwing the ball there's simply less field to defend.

Two first round WRs (including a top 10 pick), a top 10 pick LT, two huge money OGs, the highest paid OT in football at RT, now a big money RB. I mean... -

If it wasn't for garage time stats he wouldn't have any stats. He's the worst QB of all time in plays that actually matter towards determining seasons. He'll stay pad on blowouts and after we're eliminated from the playoffs. -

Just curious, but what are the "give him more time" clinging to? -
Sashay into that office or hit the job market knowing that if Bryce Young can convince the football world that he's a top tier NFL QB prospect that you truly can accomplish anything you commit yourself to.
