  1. One threatened down field and threw downfield successfully. The other didn't even threaten. You don't have to chuck the ball downfield constantly but you do have to demonstrate a competent vertical threat. This is like day two of Offensive Football 101.
  2. It's. Not. The. Same. Thing. Continuing to say this doesn't make it true.
  3. Maybe it was 3/5 and the one I'm counting as the 6th on that chart was 19 yards and 35 inches. The point is that you have to THREATEN deep and we don't. If you don't make the D respect that you can burn them deep it's going to be really tough to move the football. DJ Chark is literally a deep ball specialist. The excuses really need to stop. This chart isn't showing what you think. It's quite the opposite. The threat of the deep ball opens up opportunities underneath. You don't have to chuck it 20+ a dozen times a game. But you do have to show the willingness to do it and show some effectiveness at doing it to make the D respect it.
  4. Exactly. Six attempts 20+ yards versus zero. The threat is everything. Especially when the threat is highly effective going 4/6 on those attempts. The one ball Bryce threw over 20 yards that isn't reflected in the passing chart was a DPI on a badly underthrown ball to a receiver that was grabbed and slowed down. If a receiver is grabbed and slowed it should result in what appears to be an overthrow, definitely not a ball that is still badly underthrown.
  5. Kill! Kill! Kill! *run up the middle into a wall of defenders* Kill! Kill! Kill! *WR screen* Kill! Kill! Kill! *look downfield, hesitate, appear to want to throw downfield, actually throw three yards checkdown* Over and over until the end of the game.
  6. Miles sucks. He has no vision as a runner at all. Chuba is considerably better as a runner.
  7. They really shouldn't be. The Bills are just on an absolute tear right now. Since laying an absolute egg in the season opener they've just been beating the hell out of everyone they've played.
  8. I'd be fine with trading Burns. He's just too much of a one trick pony to pay him like he's a top tier edge defender and we desperately need to recoup some roster building capital after that trade.
  9. I'm shocked that Ian Thomas still sucks and Hurst is still playing like a former 1st round disappointment of a journeyman. Paying players like they're a lot better than they are shockingly doesn't make them play better. That's the classic Hurney folly.
  10. I just don't see the Niners winning the SB with Purdy. He's a solid game manager and they can make that work given their immense talent across the roster and a great offensive mind in Shanahan, but ultimately I think it will be the hurdle they can't overcome.
  11. That's my bad. The site I was looking at hadn't updated to include yesterday's game. Through last week the numbers I stated were accurate.
  12. I'm convinced at this point that anyone the Bears draft at QB is doomed. They seem destined to forever be bad at QB.
  13. Everything has been a disaster every since Tepper took over. There's just no way to sugarcoat that. Blame Rhule if you want. Blame Fitterer if you want. Blame Reich if you want. Blame Bryce Young if you want. The common denominator behind all of it is David Tepper.
  14. We're 7th in the league in average yards per carry. I don't think we've been committed enough to the run on the play calling but it isn't due to complete lack of effectiveness. We're 26th in the league in run attempts. We're one of only two teams averaging 4.5+ YPC that is in the bottom half of the league in attempts.
  15. They're subpar no doubt, but we saw some tough downfield catches in that game. Don't have the opportunity for those if the ball isn't thrown.
  16. I said before that game that my biggest concern is that the offense might look a lot better with Dalton taking the snaps because we already know what Dalton is. Biggest fear confirmed. Then confirmed again when Bryce looked the same against a bad D yesterday.
  17. This. Everything football related that David Tepper has touched has turned into dog poo. Ever since Tepper started "putting his stamp on the football side of the house" in year two after focusing on the business side in year one we've been on a fast track to become the new Cleveland Browns. The only stamps I've seen on his football organization are the mushroom stamps our opponents put on our foreheads every Sunday.
  18. It's painful watching some fans twist and turn to create excuses to ignore this reality and ignore the fact that the passing offense (and the WRs everyone has shat on) looked wholly different last week with a QB who could threaten the defense vertically.
  19. Okay. Let's just ignore that he's been wholly ineffective throwing more than. 15 yards down the field. He has slightly above average NFL escapability and below average NFL arm talent. It just is what it is. It doesn't doom him to failure but it's a real uphill battle.
  20. All the pre-draft measurables and analysis ceases to matter once you're drafted. At that point it's all about what you show on the field. The measurables and analysis is just trying to predict what that on field performance is likely to look like. It's far from a science.
  21. 1. No. 2. Yes. It's not about height for me. The arm talent is obviously lacking and he already looks gun shy to throw downfield. 3. If we want to play whataboutism what about if the defender would've caught that gift of a 99 yard pick six?
  22. Not pooing on the kid. It's not his fault he lacks NFL physical talent. That's on our professional talent evaluators and decision makers. I think Bryce is probably doing the best he can given his limitations. But I'm not going to beclown myself trying to act like all is well. BTW, the kid has $38M guaranteed. He's gonna be just fine no matter what.
  23. Keep it coming. Because this is comedy.
  24. Just thinking back to this off-season and preseason the whole vibe from this team, staff, front office, ownership, fanbase, just everything from the top down. We had ARRIVED. It's all fixed now. Whoops.
  25. I've never seen your level of delusional coping mechanisms while watching a raging dumpster fire.
