Drake Maye petitions the NFL and somehow gains the ability to be allowed into the supplemental draft. Finally acknowledging fuging us over in SB50 the NFL grants us an extra 1st round pick in '24 that we use to select Drake Maye in the 2023 supplemental draft. I mean, you did say IDEAL. LOL!!!

Could Lamar be going to our division rival?

Winning record overall, but I'm pretty sure .500 after we acquired Jake. He owned us early on but let's be real, we sucked in those years. Everyone owned us. -

The Falcons had one year where they won double digit games with Vick. They made the playoffs in two of his six seasons. Y'all really having nightmares about THAT? -

I honestly wouldn't mind one of our divisional rivals trading a boatload of assets and then giving a massive contract to a QB who has struggled with injuries recently. -
I honestly think that's most likely. The entire sports media thinks they should build around Fields. Most of their fanbase thinks they should build around Fields. If you move Fields and take another QB, you better be right because holy poo... if you draft a bust and Fields flourishes elsewhere you're gonna be the biggest jackass in sports.

Who is "everyone else" though? Nick Mullens? CJ Beathard? Yeah, those dudes suck. Jimmy G is considerably better than those guys. And yeah, so far Trey Lance honestly looks like a bust. Jimmy G is one of those good backup/marginal starter type guys who can look serviceable in a good system with good surrounding talent. Put him in the Raiders and watch what happens though. Hell, with Josh McDaniels there we might actually see that. I hope we do because it'll be hilarious.

Lamar is a helluva talent but given his injury history, the contract he's going to demand, and the trade value a team is going to have to give up to acquire him I guess I wouldn't mind seeing him playing for a division rival. I think the team that makes this move is likely going to be hamstrung. No team in this division is a Niners or Rams type situation with a stacked up roster just needing a QB.

The roughest injury I ever saw on live television was Willis McGahee's knee in college. I was in college and a bunch of us were watching that game and I saw it and just started screaming. Like everybody y'all gotta watch this poo and now because they're only gonna show this replay once when they realize how ugly this is. I still can't believe he made a successful recovery from that. I guess Marcus Lattimore's injury at South Carolina looked similarly and that one ended him.

I definitely think Lamar is better. I also know that Lamar will require a massive contract and a massive trade package to acquire. It would be the type of deal that would greatly hamper our ability to otherwise improve our roster. That's why I'm willing to consider Carr but not Lamar. If they were both FAs I'd definitely rather have Lamar.

Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?

Unless there's no plans to trade him and the plan is to trade out of #1. If teams think there's a real chance the Bears stick at #1 to take a QB it potentially helps maximize the value of that pick. They can always pull Fields aside and tell him, "Look, we are NOT trading you. But we're definitely going to listen to offers for the #1 overall pick so we're gonna play some games to try to maximize those offers. Don't listen to any rumors you hear. You're gonna be a Bear for a long time." -
This is exactly what he needs. He needs to go to a team running a spread offense, ideally employing a lot of option routes. Just give him the room to work and play off the looks the D gives him. That's when he's at his best. I honestly think his draft value is going to vary significantly from team to team based on their offensive systems. In the right system, he's a very intriguing prospect. But if you're not running that type of system he's a lot harder of a prospect to try to translate IMO. Downs is one to watch for us if we sign Derek Carr. IMO, Downs is a potentially better version of Hunter Renfrow.
