The Eagles are starting to just take over and dominate now. Texans badly need something on this drive. This feels a lot more lopsided than the 14-7 on the scoreboard.
-
That and the dropped INT. Kinda feels like the Texans missed their chance to jump on the Eagles kinda sleep walking in the early going tonight.
-
But what if there's homemade meatballs involved? What then?
-
Yep. He actually does decently when pressured immediately. He just dumps it off to his check down. It's when his first read isn't open and instant pressure doesn't force a check down and he has to actually start going through his progression... uh oh.
-
Hell, some of his worst plays are on downs where he has protection. When he can actually survey the field and go through his reads it's usually a disaster. You can literally watch him start to panic as his internal timer goes off and then he does something stupid.
-
Footwork wasn't fixing Sam Darnold. Sam Darnold's issue is between his ears. He's a panicker. You can't fix panic.

Even blind squirrels find a few nuts.

It makes sense to me. Would you rather him be 6'5" 240? Absolutely. But he's not and he never will be. I'd rather have a baller who lacks ideal size than a dud who looks the part. If he can put on the weight it would alleviate a lot of concerns. No one in Seattle or New Orleans was boo hooing about Russell Wilson and Drew Brees lacking ideal height.

Mel Kiper should come with a "for entertainment purposes only" label. Honestly, he deserves significant credit for creating the hype around the draft but he also deserves significant blames for all the terrible takes year after year of acting like certain prospects are sure things, "plug and play starters", future All-Pros, etc.
-
We won't care. We'll have decided to keep him and pay him.
-
Yeah, his value isn't going to go down. He's still a young pass rusher with top tier talent. If we need to trade whim we're not going to have any issues getting excellent return
-
They didn't offer two 1sts for a one year rental. They would've extended Burns. There's always going to be a highest offer in any trade situation. Did you expect someone to offer more than two 1sts?
-
Cheap for one year. Any team trading significant assets for Burns would've been planning to extend him. They didn't trade for him due to a lack of effort.
-
Yes. Because other teams will also be vying for him. A player demanding a trade only reduces the number of potential suitors by one.
-
Yeah, the franchise tag is really only a two year option.
-
It ultimately comes down to wins and losses and championships. It looked for years like the Chargers fleeced the Giants in that Eli Manning trade. They got an arguably better QB in Rivers and made good use of that bevy of picks. But at the end of it all, the Giants got two rings out of the deal. So who really won that trade?
-
It wouldn't have any real impact on his value. Young talents at premium positions are always going to be in high demand and garner a significant market.
-
This is the ace in the hole that I've seen very few people mention. We always have the option of franchising him if we can't get a long-term deal worked out. He can still be traded under the tag if it comes down to it.

What’s your 2023 QB big board (including Corral)

Agreed. Lots of people are quick to point out the highly drafted QB busts but we can do similar exercises with edge rushers, OTs etc. There are no guarantees in the draft. -

If he gets a 1st round grade based on raw talent he should go. Look at what happened with Rattler. Dude went from presumed to be competing for the #1 overall pick to transferring and sucking ass at South Carolina. Look at what happened to Howell. Lost all of his weapons and accounted for virtually the entirety of his team's offense but dropped to the 5th round. If you have a good chance of going in the 1st, grab your bag. -

Richardson is intriguing as fug. Evaluations are gonna vary widely based on what teams think he can develop into. He's Josh Allen-esque in terms of raw tools. -
I honestly think the supporting cast (especially prior to the CMC trade) was honestly among the best we've ever had. This OL is pretty damn good. The biggest knock is the TE group and that's a legit knock.

1. DE 2. WR 3. TE 4. LB 5. RB 6. FS

Rams Offering Two (Future) Firsts for Burns
LinvilleGorge replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pay close attention to the long-term posters who have disappeared recently and the common theme between them. The folks who can't keep TB topics in the TB aren't gonna make it. -
I'm sure he could try but I'm not sure it would matter. The agreement is the agreement. JR talked tough like Snyder at first too. I wouldn't be surprised if both of them finally had enough high dollar lawyers tell them they have no leg to stand on that they relented without a fight.
